Yes, and girls around here attach them to the outside of their backpacks. All ages, even in high school. It's been a trend for a few years.

Are all children fingerprinted is the US? Are they on record? I live in Canada and as far as I know our children are not fingerprinted at birth. How could they use fingerprints to ID a child?

Maybe they could they try to fiingerprint items in her house/room? :waitasec: Take fingerprints from all over, and then eliminate those from her mom and other relatives??

My daughter usually brings her pillow pet to school if they are going to be watching a movie or havung a party for something. She did go missing on a friday which is the usual day my daughters class has movie parties so maybe thats why she had it. I wouldnt think that its an uncommon thing for a child that age.

Thanks, I admit I am a little behind the times of what kids take to school. LOL. My two "little ones" are in their 30's.

My kids didn't have movie parties at school, but they used to take stuff to school for show and tell.

My thoughts are that this could be a local perp who could not be away from home for a long period of time to drive into the mountains, i.e. to dispose of the body. Just wanted to get it done, quickly as possible, maybe for alibi purposes.

Good thinking! Maybe someone that has a job they don't want to be noticed missing or a family or both. Could be a young person even that hasn't got 24 hour access to a vehicle.

We now can as long as we state and link to scanner rewind post. Don't copy and paste from transcript. And don't quote verbatim At least that's my interpretation.

That could be why the FBI took several items from the family home during the interview.

I agree, I think the Westminster PD has been great at keeping folks informed via pressers, Facebook and Twitter. Maybe they aren't always able to tell us what we want to know, but I believe LE has been as open and forthcoming as any PD I have encountered in a missing child case.

I agree, Marilynilpa.. The media management displayed by the Westminister PD/PIO has been virtually unprecedented in prior missing/murdered person's investigations. The professionalism and proactive approach by WPD and all agencies involved has been very impressive.

I fully understand that some info can't be released to the American public due to case integrity. However, all information that is not vital to protecting the integrity should be released, imo. Otherwise, a very valuable resource in missing/murdered persons investigations is being squandered.

Many times hold back info/evidence by investigators is detrimental to a successful conclusion, due to jurisdictional linkage blindness, and other critical issues. You can't connect the dots, if you don't collect the dots...

I strongly suspect she was dead before anybody even noticed she was missing.

Gave me goosebumps too since that describes my daughter and our family to a T.

Exactly!!! We have 5 children, 3 girls (12, 8 and 9) and 2 boys! It's frightening!! I have warned all my children about what to do if a stranger approaches them. SCREAM and run away!! I'm serious my kids are NOT allowed to speak to anyone that they do not know!!! And this is a perfect example that I'm not being over protective!

My heart goes out to this family, I can't imagine what they must be going through right now!!

I watched JVM the other night and Mark Lunsford was on saying there is no Jessica's law in Colorado. Maybe its something to think about doing.

it is being heavily pushed here in the local election tv commercials.....
i do NOT understand the politicians that are preventing this law from passing. makes me sick.

I'm not a MOD or anything, but I've been warned enough times to know. "What happens in the basement (scanner thread) stays in the basement."

This rule was amended last night because the two threads tend to overlap often. Post #212. But don't ask me to explain exactly how it works :waitasec:

Basically I think the mods want some type of acknowledgement that the info discussed in a post, originated from a poster's "transcription" of something that was communicated on the scanner.....so it does seem like we are saying it is fact, it is only what the poster thinks that they heard.....I think.

Actually, some kids are fingerprinted.

My oldest son has fingerprinted all three of his little ones (3, 5 and 7 years old and perfect angels!) and keeps their fingerprint cards along with current photos just in case. He was told by an LE buddy of his that parents should always have current photos of their kids from the waist up. Now why "from the waist up", I don't know, that's just what he was told.
