Re my bold...

This is why I wonder if any pieces are missing. I suspect something is & that's part of the game to the killer. He wants investigators to figure that out. I'll bet there's similar cases, maybe not many but still others, that are similar & I'll bet there's missing pieces as well.

I hate to say it but after reading that article, I'd say we've got the head/hands gone.

For Jessica
:rose:

I know the profilers are saying that the killer has contradicted himself by the area chosen to dispose of the body vs the decision to dismember her little body.. the area indicating definitely wanting the body to be quickly discovered and the dismemberment seeming to indicate wanting to delay id of the body..

I personally find it all together possible that its not at all contradictory, but rather imo is indicative of a human being of pure evil, sick, twisted perversion who dismembered NOT TO conceal id but rather simply done for his own sick pleasure!!

Strictly my opinion only but I honestly believe we are likely dealing with an evil entity thats beyond what is in any way typical even for other pedo predators.. someone not only fully capable of the atrocities done to our sweet Jessica.. but takes great joy and delight in terror filled eyes of his young victims as he inflicts unspeakable peversion and surpassing thresholds of pain beyond what our minds can even begin to comprehend..

And it is exactly all of the above described that literally drives this evil entity.. moo but he is already in the hunting phase of his next victim and is exactly why time is of the essence and HE ABSOLUTELY MUST BE CAUGHT IMMEDIATELY...

ALL MOO.

That’s what’s haunting me too. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this predator is an “organized lust killer” capable of doing everything you described including necrophilia. The worst kind of serial killer, Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer.

how are you monitoring YouTube? are you just typing in jessica ridgeway?

sounds like a repeat of the luka magnotta cas....ugh

I'm being constantly reminded of the mother's bf, Shawn, in the case of Hailey Dunn. He was into really macabre things.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I lived in an apartment in a not-great area of the city. I found out, from checking the RSO registry, that the SUPER (yes, as in the man who had keys to my apartment!) had 2 convictions for first degree rape :what: I called management to try and get him fired, and he found out, and was so pissed off at me that he tried to bust my door down. He was arrested and they found a "rape kit" (gloves, zip ties and duct tape) in his work truck. This man had been a constant nuisance to both of us, and was always hanging out around our place, overstaying his welcome. We realized after the fact that he was probably casing our apartment.

The kicker was the management knew he was a RSO, and they hired him anyways! And he wasn't fired even after he was arrested! I moved out less than a week later, and for all I know he still works there :furious:

Good thing you were smart and went with your gut feelings about him.Really horrible that with two convictions for first degree rape, tried to bust down a tenants door, found with a rape kit in his work truck ,arrested and management did not fire him!!!Glad he did not hurt you,and that you were able move out quickly.

Very strange indeed!

I live in the mountans of NC and THIS is not the way people who bike around here dress. Maybe downtown Asheville, but not in the middle of no where. He does not fit into these surroundings! How far out of a town was this picture taken?

This RO was from msthinkalot from yesterday post #1149.I think this looks real good.Do you know who this guy is or at least where he was from or anything about him?

I found one that I thought looked very similar to the sketch. I'm not showing his name, because I don't want to be "witch-hunty"... but, to me, the resemblance is striking between this particular RSO and the "candyman".

(Please forgive my horrid photoshop skills... I couldn't find a larger pic of the RSO, and I couldn't find a smaller pic of the sketch!)

Thank you for looking!

I went back and looked at my posts mentioning the man and woman the next day, video's not on it, I actually believe it was them talking live, we were watching it live on here. But he still should have an article about it. Actually if you look at the fence behind them at night and the photo of the man on the bike during the day, it might be the same fence. In the day you can see thru it more. I'd like to find a day shot of the road they were on in the day to see it. I guess I'll have to google map it.

I don't care what reason there was to dismember a little girl's body. For DNA purposes, for ID purposes, for morbid purposes, for moving purposes... it makes you a sick **** if you can ever do something like that. The thought of doing something like that is sickening. The capability of actually doing it is even worse. It would haunt normal people forever. So to me, it doesn't matter the purpose. It was done, and he needs to rot forever in prison and be put to death because of it.

And if he did it to hide ID, who did he think everyone would think it was???
Boy, he is one stupid "crafty" *advertiser censored**. Or, heck, any other litttle girls missing in the area?

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I think it's wrong to take anyone's name from any registry (even a RSO) and put it out there on this (or any) site. Yes, I know they are people who are in the system as a S.O. and yes I know that means they have to be looked at, as they should, by the authorities.

People love to imagine they are a detective in the case and theorize and speculate, but I think it's dangerous and unfair and crosses a line to post names or provide links to people that are imagined as being involved. If you have a real lead, then give it to the CO police and don't post about it. Otherwise, let the authorities do their job; they will be following every lead, checking out every S.O. in the area, and are able to do so professionally and discreetly.

I understand your point a little bit but, a couple things. First, I have zero sympathy for RSOs. Megan's Law websites were created so we would be aware when a monster lives in our community (and I'm sorry, except a for a few people caught peeing in public or a 19 year old having sex with a 17 year old, which are considered sex offenders in some states, most RSOs are horrid monsters to me). Their crimes made them subject to laws which allow them to be publicly outed and listed and scrutinized. They are the criminals, not the victims. I do not feel sorry for any of them.

Second, the imaginary "detectives" on this site have actually solved cases or helped to solve cases. Did you know that? There are some ridiculously hard workers on here - those for whom this is a second job, who work tirelessly to identify the unidentified, or to get justice for crime victims who the law and the world seemed to have forgotten (I'm looking at you MsFacetious and Believe09!). They move mountains and do some incredible things on here.

Okay, so along those lines... does anyone know if the person who mentioned a green truck at Pattridge Park near where Jessica was found, mentioned anything in particular about that truck? Whether it was older or newer, etc? My googling isn't turning up anything specific about the truck... :(

I found an RSO with prior sexual assault of child who owns a green truck. He also lives only about 2 miles from where Jessica was found...

Oh, and pic attached is a different RSO whose face, to me, seems to be a perfect match with the "candyman" lurer.

Dang. Excellent match.

I think it was towards the end of the last thread that it was mentioned that in order to do a dental ID, the victim had to have been treated/x-rayed by a dentist. This is not necessarily true. Part of dental analysis often includes analysis comparing an x-ray of the victim's skull with a photographic image of the patient alive and showing teeth--often done while smiling. (It was done for a different reason, but I'm sure many of us remember the Casey Anthony trial and how the prosecution did a video which superimposed--perfectly--an image of Caylee's skull over a photographic image of her smiling. So like that, but to match up the teeth.)

Teeth – Forensic dentists can use teeth for identification or in some cases a single tooth can be used. If no dental Xray is available, digital photographs can be taken of the teeth to compare to a smile in a photograph during the victim’s lifetime

Also, in that same vein (vain?) :waitasec: , they can compare an x-ray of the skull to a full frontal picture of the alive victim's face.

Skull – Computer graphics are used to perform a facial reconstruction to estimate the dead person’s appearance. Like other bones, scientists can determine a person’s sex and race from skull features. The difference is , with the aid of these graphics, they can also discover much about the soft tissue in the ears and nose and how much fat the person had on his or her face.

And as someone pointed out, Jessica's fingerprints could be found all over her own home, they only needed to find the ones that are plentiful in the home and that don't match the other people who live there.

I never knew that! Thanks for this info.

This is a beautiful, powerful photo and it sends a profound message.
I hope the who did this to Jessica got the message.

Do you think it's possible that she was assaulted in the shack on the hill and that her body was found in the culvert? That would explain why police were investigating the shack and looking on the hill. I'm looking at aerial maps and it doesn't look like the area is easily accessible from the top of the hill, so wouldn't that mean that she was brought to the area from the road? What are your thoughts?

Possibly. But, don;t you think they would kind of have to search that shack since a body was found so close and it's one of the only structures around there?

Re Rock Creek- in Boulder Couny- the murder there was the Rochester case. A mother killed her 6 mo son because she thought he was autistic. Not guilty
by reason of insanity- mom was a mental health worker . Lots of press- 2010 I think. The backpack was left across the street and about 3 houses down from where she lived at the time.
Ho.ly. Shizzle. That can't be a coincidence, can it? That neighborhood was out of the way for him, I believe. At to drop the backpack so close to that house? Wheels are turning.

I live in the mountans of NC and THIS is not the way people who bike around here dress. Maybe downtown Asheville, but not in the middle of no where. He does not fit into these surroundings! How far out of a town was this picture taken?

LOL, I see nothing wrong with it. I believe it is an "older" man just out for a bike ride...not a hard core bicyclist or exerciser. Prolly his wife in front of him. Think slow, leisurely pace and enjoying his surroundings.

It is so disheartening to think the monster destroyed the remains. I can think of 3 reasons why he might have done so:

1) delay Id (JR or his): this may have made sense before advent of DNA but today it only buys you a day or two in identifying the body. Only a young inexperienced killer, I believe, would think this.

On the other hand, perhaps the killer only left parts where there would not be DNA. I don't want to be too graphic but he might have removed all parts of the body where there could be potential DNA evidence. So he hurt the body not to delay her identification but to delay or prevent HIS identification by DNA.

2) ease transport: I saw a show on ID discovery last week where the husband killed the wife and dismembered the body in order to ease hiding. He ended up hiding most of the body in his garage which seems completely stupid, but sometimes these killers do not always think straight. But he initially dismembered the wife's body so he could put it on a sled to move to a field.

Yet the perp here did not leave her in a container, etc so perhaps he transported her in a container that he needed her to fit in OR he was too weak to carry 80 pounds or however much she weighed. Otherwise why commit do such a horrible act and bring even more pain to the family?( I cannot imagine how her parents must fill.)

3) this person is a really sick monster (which is also true if the above 2 are true) that gets pleasure out of doing what he did to the body. The perp could even have kept parts as trophies. If the latter, it would seem like you are dealing w a serial monster. If someone derives enjoyment from that, he will strike again. It is also likely that he may have done this in the past, but perhaps no one found the body to know he did it. Someone does not jump from normal person to sick monster overnight. There would have been something in his past.

I just pray that there is sufficient DNA to be able to catch this person. And soon! He probably is not in Codis or else they would have gotten a match by now, you could take it 1) they have DNA and there is not yet a match); or 2) they do not have DNA. I hope it is the case that the perp did not do number 1 above and prevent DNA from being found.

Yellow, good post and clearly thought out.

IMO, #1 makes a lot of sense. Not going into the details, but I believe they are very evident. I also pray the perp slipped up and possibly some DNA will be found and a possible match. The perp may have wanted a trophy, for awhile, but the way it had been done, could have both with DNA foremost. With such sickos it is difficult to get into their minds.

I doubt a child's body intact would have hindered one's ability to carry somewhere to dispose of.

he actually does fit into the surroundings, IMO. i bet, based on the outfit, this is an older man, probably sr. citizen. and while it looks like the middle of no where, it is not. but i guess "middle of no where" is up to personal interpration. neighborhoods are surrounding by huge open spaces here. you walk 2 min from my house and it would appear to be the "middle of no where" because you cant see any homes around - even though they are only a 2 min walk.

look at this map. residential neighborhoods in walking/biking distance....the biker is more than likely near stanley lake park (i believe that is said in the video)
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msi...l=39.886558,-105.111201&spn=0.012694,0.032809

even the body was found in biking distance to residential neighborhoods...

welcome to colorardo where neighborhoods and vast open spaces reside together ;)

I think he dismembered her to dispose of her. Easier for him with her in a trash bag. No one would think twice of a man carrying a trash bag.

Maybe he has no car!
could he be on a bike?

Just horribel

I'm finding the ongoing speculation about missing body parts just too ghoulish. I know it appears to be important information for those who feel they can profile the killer. But speculating what parts are missing, and how they came to be that way, is hard for me to deal with. Yes, this is important to LE/FBI, but since I am just an average person and will never be called upon to actually solve this poor girl's death OR profile her killer, I don't find it necessary to know the gruesomest of details. I know I am probably in the minority in this.

Truthfully, right now all I can picture is this poor little girl, "not intact", laying out in a field when she should have been home with her mom, cuddled up in the "nest" on her top bunk with her pillow pet. JMO
