Idaho woman linked to accused murderer Patrick Frazee pleads guilty
CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. (KKTV) — On Friday, Krystal Lee pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, a class 6 felony.

11 News has confirmed that Lee said she "moved the victim's cell phone" in Idaho.

According to the judge, Lee's sentence could be anywhere from 12 to 18 months in prison, community corrections, or probation.

The sentencing will not occur until sentencing for people charged in the case is completed, which "could be 6 months from now or 2 years from now."

Lee is scheduled to back in court on June 24th at 11 a.m.

11 News will update this article as more information becomes available.

'I learned that Patrick Frazee had committed a homicide': Idaho nurse pleads guilty to moving Kelsey Berreth's cell phone
Kenney read the following statement in court: “I learned that Patrick Frazee had committed a homicide on approximately Nov. 22, 2018 in Teller County. I knew that law enforcement would be investigating that crime. I moved the victim’s cell phone with the intent to impair the phone’s availability in the investigation. I had no right or authority to move the victim’s cell phone. That occurred between Nov. 24 and Nov. 25, 2018 in Teller County."

May said he will be able to talk more about why the state chose to accept the plea deal after Frazee's preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for Feb. 19. It is not clear if Kenney will testify at that hearing.

Cheryl and Darrell Berreth, Kelsey Berreth's parents, released the following statement Friday: "The Berreths are thankful to law enforcement and the District Attorneys for continuing to diligently work on the case and bring the facts to light."

Friend speaks out in support of Idaho nurse linked to Kelsey Berreth case
KLK’s best friend is speaking on camera for the first time, defending the woman who pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence in connection to the Kelsey Berreth case.

MS, Kenney’s best friend, sat down with CBS This Morning and reporter Nikki Battiste, to talk about the Hansen nurse, connected to accused murderer Patrick Frazee.

Stein now speaking for the first time, saying “she's an extremely good person that got put into a very bad situation,” Stein explained.

Catch that interview Monday on CBS This Morning.

Nurse who pleaded guilty in missing Colorado mom case feared for her life, friend says
"I will just tell you Krystal was very, very scared," said MS. "Krystal's a very level-headed, kind, fun-loving, happy-go-lucky person. She's a tough cowgirl. But she was absolutely scared and extremely upset."

Stein, of Twin Falls, Idaho, told CBS News correspondent Nikki Battiste that Lee had confided in her about her role in covering up Berreth's death.

Lee has known Frazee for 15 years, and the two previously dated. But Stein says it was only recently that Lee discovered Frazee had been engaged to another woman (Berreth), and that the pair had a child together.

When asked if she thought Frazee is a murderer, Stein replied, "Yes. I do. I think he's a very dangerous person."

Battiste asked, "Has Krystal ever said that she's been fearful of him at any point?"

"Yes."

"What did she say?"

"She did tell me that she has never seen that kind of evil in anybody," said Stein.

Stein believes Lee has "very, very good reasoning for whatever it is she may or may not have done."

"What was the reasoning?" asked Battiste.

"I can't really comment completely, but fear, and legitimate fear."

"That if she didn't comply with Patrick, he might kill her?"

"Yes, that's what I believe," Stein replied.

She says Lee and Frazee, a blacksmith, met after high school at a ranch and bonded over horses. She would not comment on whether the two had a sexual relationship.

For Stein, she has "absolutely no doubt" that Lee was not involved in Berreth's murder.

Mistress nurse was unaware that killer fiance Patrick Frazee was engaged or had a child | Daily Mail Online
  • Michelle Stein sat down for an interview on CBS This Morning about her friend Krystal Lee Kenney, who disposed of Kelsey Berreth's cell phone
  • 'She had very, very good reasoning for whatever it is she may or may not have done,' said a very emotional Stein
  • Stein was then asked if Krystal feared that Frazee might murder her next, to which she replied: 'Yes, that's what I believe, yes'
  • It was also revealed that Krystal did not know that Frazee was engaged or had a child until very recently, according to Stein
  • She also noted that Krystal had once said 'that she's never seen that kind of evil in anybody.' when speaking about Frazee
  • Frazee has been accused of murdering his fiancee Berreth, and Krystal has agreed to testify against him in court
The mistress of Patrick Frazee only helped him dispose of Kelsey Berreth's cell phone because she feared for her life, a friend has claimed.

'She had very, very good reasoning for whatever it is she may or may not have done,' said a very emotional Michelle Stein on CBS This Morning.

When pressed for further detail she added: 'I can't really comment completely, but fear. And legitimate fear.'

Stein was then asked if Krystal feared that Frazee might murder her next, to which she replied: 'Yes, that's what I believe, yes.'

She also noted that Krystal had once said 'that she's never seen that kind of evil in anybody' when speaking about Frazee.

One topic Stein would not address is whether or not Krystal and Frazee had been having an affair at the time of Berreth's death.

She did say that the two previously had a relationship after they met 15 years ago, while also suggesting that Krystal might not have even been aware that she was having an affair if the two had recently been together.

That is because Kelsey was unaware that Frazee was engaged or had a child, according to Stein.

‘Her testimony will be worth its weight in gold’: Nancy Grace says testimony from mistress will have ‘huge impact’ in Kelsey Berreth murder trial [VIDEO]
“Krystal Lee Kenney’s conviction will have a huge impact on Patrick Frazee’s case because it’s now set that she will testify against him and she will be the State’s chief witness,” she said.

“Her testimony will be worth its weight in gold.”

Grace went on to note that the prosecutors aren’t without obstacles, as it’ll prove difficult to land a first-degree murder conviction without Berreth’s body. She speculated that police must have located evidence invisible to the “naked eye” in Berreth’s townhome which indicated a murder took place.

“I suspect they used luminol and found a vast amount of blood there,” Grace continued. “She’s dead and I think the jury will believe that.”

Berreth’s friend: Plea deal brings mixed emotions
NH was one of Berreth’s closest friends growing up. She said she’s happy investigators should get more information about what may have happened, but thinks they’re giving Kenney too good of a deal.

“I’m hopeful that we’ll get more information about exactly what happened and hopefully be able to find Kelsey’s body,” Haywood said. “It’s incredibly disturbing that another mother could either help commit a murder or at least cover it up. We don’t know how involved she was at this point.”

Kenney could face up to 18 months in prison if the crime is found to be presumptive range. If it’s found to be aggravated, she could see up to three years in prison. By state law, the sentence is not mandatory.

Kelsey Berreth daughter Kaylee poses on a plane in first photo since the death of her mother | Daily Mail Online

The young daughter of Kelsey Berreth is all smiles in a photo shared by her maternal grandmother.

In the picture the two ladies are seen making a visit to Berreth's former place of employment, Dos Aviation, where Kaylee poses up on the wing of an airplane.

The family shared the image to social media just days before Patrick Frazee is due back in court after being accused of murdering his fiance.

The 16-month-old is temporarily in the custody of her maternal grandparents and it remained that way on Thursday ahead of Frazee's murder trial.
