KL also goes by the name "KK", which is her maiden name.

KKL, a divorced mother of two, is believed to have been having a romantic relationship with Patrick Frazee. Sources close to KKL told ABC News that the pair have known each other for years, and reportedly worked together at one time.

She was involved in rodeo, being named 2008 Rodeo Queen of the Magic Valley Stampede. Frazee also was involved in rodeo, according to social media posts obtained by KRDO NewsChannel 13.

Recently, KKL was employed as a pre-op nurse at the St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.

The hospital confirmed she is currently on a leave of absence, but would not confirm how long that leave has been. They also would not confirm the nature of law enforcement inquiries into Lee's work history or whether KKL is facing disciplinary review or sanctions.

As of January 5, no charges have been filed against her. A search of jail rosters in Idaho counties has not revealed she is being held in custody.

Local lawyer explains wrongful death lawsuit against Patrick Frazee

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Just one day after being awarded temporary custody of Kaylee Berreth, the parents of missing mother Kelsey Berreth have filed a civil wrongful death lawsuit against her former fiance, Patrick Frazee.

Well known local personal injury lawyer, Mike McDivitt says in cases like these, getting a guilty verdict won't affect the outcome of the civil suit.

The documents say the Berreth's are asking for a minimum of 75 thousand dollars but it's likely that money will go to Kaylee, the daughter she left behind.

McDivitt says, "if the evidence shows there was a murder by Mr. Frazee, that's a legitimate wrongful death claim on behalf of Frazee's little girl whose mother has now been killed. That little girl will presumably be represented by grandparents which I think that's what this complaint is accomplishing." [BBM].

Frazee is currently facing criminal murder charges in Teller County, but the civil case filed in federal court accuses him of wrongful death, negligence, intentional emotional distress and conspiracy.

McDivitt says winning the civil case doesn't hold the same standard of proof a criminal case would meaning the plaintiffs don't have to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt to jurors.

"The standard of proof in a civil is lower, it's by a preponderance which means more probable than not," he says.

No matter what happens inside the courtroom, Frazee, guilty or not guilty, the evidence that comes out could help determine whether or not any money is awarded to the Berreth family.

"As the proceedings go through, and evidence is developed in the criminal matter that will give the plaintiffs in the civil matter, a great opening as to the evidence necessary to prove the civil case," McDivitt says.

The next court proceeding for Frazee's criminal case is a preliminary hearing on February 19th.

Patrick Frazee served with civil lawsuit
Patrick Frazee was personally served the federal district court case filed against him Friday by the Sanders Law Firm on behalf of the Berreth family.

Frazee now has a certain amount of time to respond to the lawsuit now that it has been formally served.

KRDO is working to find out if Frazee has counsel for the federal lawsuit.

Patrick Frazee hearing delayed to Feb. 19; prosecutors in Kelsey Berreth case release documents
On Friday, prosecuting attorneys Jennifer Viehman and Beth Reed agreed to release the all case-related documents, photographs and videos — including the search warrant, police reports and the affidavit — to be viewed by Frazee as well as his attorney and staff.

Frazee, who lives in Florissant on a 35-acre ranch, had several friends in the court room that day. “I’ve known Patrick for 20 years,” said Gilda Dellinger, formerly of Divide. “He’s always been so kind and helpful.”

When Dellinger moved to Colorado Springs, Frazee helped shuttle her horse to the new home. “And he noticed that my storm door was broken and he fixed it for me,” she said. “I would never have believed this about him.”

Patrick Frazee was served notice on Monday that a complaint had been filed by Cheryl and Darrell Berreth claiming he 'enacted physical, mental, and emotional acts of violence upon Kelsey Berreth prior to her death.'

And they have retained Perry Sanders to represent them in the case, the same man who represented Katherine Jackson after the death of her son Michael.

Frazee will not be in court again until February, but there were a few new developments in the case last week.

This included a friend of Patrick Frazee, whose granddaughter was a frequent playmate of the accused killer's daughter Kaylee, shared details about his relationship with Berreth.

Tamra Freeman told CNN that Frazee and Berreth had split back on New Year's Day in 2018, just three months after the couple welcomed daughter Kaylee.

That contradicts comments made by Berreth's aunt suggesting that her niece had broken up with Frazee on November 22, the day she was last seen in public.

Civil lawsuit against Frazee likely intended for answers, closure
David McDivitt, vice president of McDivitt Law Firm, said the suit likely isn’t solely focused on money, noting Frazee’s current representation by a public defender. It’s a way to get closure for the family.

“What they were trying to do, I’m sure, is get answers, hold someone accountable, try to find some sense of healing, and that is going to be a long journey,” McDivitt said. “And this is just one kind of path along that journey.”

Locals stumbled across human remains near an abandoned truck stop the day before Kelsey Berreth's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against their daughter's fiancé Patrick Frazee.

On Monday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Department of Public Safety reveled they were investigating body parts discovered near the town of Aguilar on Sunday.

The Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office (LACSO) received a call from people walking near exit 34 on Interstate 25 just after 3pm, which prompted the CBI Crime Scene Response team to process the area located 20 miles north of Trinidad.

Coroner conforms human remains found near abandoned Colorado truck stop are NOT Kelsey Berreth | Daily Mail Online
The human remains discovered Sunday near an abandoned Colorado truck stop are not Kelsey Berreth, a coroner confirmed Tuesday.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation Department of Public Safety representative Susan Medina confirmed to DailyMail.com that the although it's not clear who the deceased person was, the hunt still remains for missing mother Berreth.

'Although we don't have the official identification of the remains as of yet, I can relay that they are not Kelsey,' Medina said.
