Info from people who know PF:
“He worked on my horses for a real short time till he punched one in the gut with a rasp and that was about the last time I let him work on my horses,” -MG

'It's a characteristic that was ongoing for years. Anytime he was at a rope and his horse didn't act right, he'd rip on his face, kick him. In the community, we were all at ropings and stuff, but if the horse doesn't do exactly what it's supposed to do you don't just beat them.' -MG

'One time we were at a rodeo in Cripple Creek and he got mad because his horse didn't do good and somebody didn't heel just right to help him get in the money and he got so mad he left out of Cripple Creek Rodeo, flipped his horse trailer with his horse in it and almost killed that horse.
'He got mad, tries to get his vehicle out of there and there's too many cars tightly packed in. Lots of people were there. -MG

'He was in a rage of being mad and angry, because the heeler didn't heel and they lost out the money. It was kind of a sad deal, especially trying to get the horse out that was traumatic for everybody.' -MG

A former girlfriend of PF declined to speak to the press but her partner commented saying that he knew Frazee to be aggressive with horses and dogs but that he did not beat his girlfriends.
“He cheated on her while she was in the hospital, take that for what it’s worth,” the man said of his current partner’s former relationship with Frazee

'Patrick is a horseshoer, I heard once he was thumping on the horse "saying this is how you've got to do it," that horse reared up and kicked him right in the forehead, he got a bunch of stitches and his [then] girlfriend hauled him to the hospital to get stitches.' -High School Classmate of PF

'Oh yeah, he's a recluse for sure. I haven't seen him in 10 years or so.' -High School Classmate of PF

A neighbor heard 'mixed things' about Frazee's alleged rough behavior with animals.
He was quiet and shy. He had his own friends circle and stayed close to his friends,' he said.
'He did come across, "I'm a big tough cowboy." But that's that cowboy way, got be strong.
'That's how he was raised, he raised horses. I think if you're raised country that's normal, if you're raised city it's going to seem harsh. It's not wrong in his eyes. Sometimes there's neglect and over abuse yes, he'd tread the fine line on it I'd say. You've got make a horse submit to what you want to do. You've got to be kind of firm. You shouldn't hit them.' --Former Neighbor HF

Two friends of Patrick defended him and rejected any suggestion he was cruel towards animals:

'He's an old fashioned cowboy. He's just old school, he does things the old way. He shoes horses modern, but he trains horses the way people used to do it, I wouldn't say that he's cruel or not. He's a stand up real good guy. I've just known him for years and he's a great person.'
The friend said he had not met Frazee's fiancée but added: 'I know the day I saw him he was a great dad to the daughter and he's a good guy. He was fine. --Man who saw PF shoe horses in Sept.

'I know him, when we had horses he used to trim our horses hooves. He was a very nice young man, I knew him all growing up, we used to go to the Gymkhana and the rodeos when he was younger. I've known him since 2003 and I never saw him do anything inappropriate or out of order.' -DR, runs the propane store

"I've always considered him to be a gentle soul. Soft spoken and just really down to Earth and practical." “couldn’t imagine him doing anything that would harm anyone.” -Friend, SO

KB often talked about her boyfriend (PF) at her aviation job in 2016
Baby K was born Oct 2017
They were engaged but did not have a wedding date set

"I mean they had plans, you know, they were planning to find a place for them to live and so forth and the economy with prices dropping out...Kelsey's fiance has some cattle and stuff and prices were poor and so the money just wasn't available as soon as they had hoped, but they make it work."-- KB's mom

BREAKING: Krystal Kenney is facing charges of Tampering with Physical Evidence-Destroy. Formal complaint was filed today, though she hasn’t been formally charged. Plus, prosecutors have a date in question. I’ll explain coming up on @KOAA

Based on the paperwork filed, police believe Kenney destroyed evidence on Nov. 24. That’s two days after Berreth was last seen publicly. #KelseyBerreth #PatrickFrazee @KOAA

Again, there’s no word *yet* on what evidence police believe Kenney destroyed. Logically, the cell phone would make sense as it pinged in Idaho the day after she’s accused of tampering. But that information has not been released. @KOAA #PatrickFrazee #KelseyBerreth

4:40 PM - 4 Feb 2019

ETA: Police believe KK destroyed evidence on 11/24/18. If that evidence was KB's phone (logical per phone ping), how were texts sent on 11/25/18. Hmmm..., what other evidence did KK destroy?

Regardless, of what came out of the DA's office, I'm still holding out some hope that there's more than one charge for the sake of some justice for KB. I just do not want to believe KK will get off without any jail time. Wishful thinking on my part perhaps. It just seems so wrong to me given what we know, and I admit it isn't much at this point, but I know enough to want her to spend at least some time behind bars. She KNEW WHAT SHE KNEW and went to CO anyway and then brought the phone home with her. Inexcusable in my books. Yes, I feel for her children, but SHE wasn't thinking of them when she got involved in this mess. My heartfelt sympathy is for baby K and the B family who no longer have mother and daughter, sister and friend.

If KK gets off with probation as a result of the deal, I hope a civil suit is filed against her. The more attention drawn to her to expose what she did is fine by me. Let it affect her life. She seemed to have no problem watching others lives utterly destroyed.

Is KK's upcoming court appearance going to be televised or live streamed? I really really want to see what is going on.
Based on the charge, it can be a remote appearance, with the judge interacting with KK and her lawyer(s) appearing on a television screen before him. He is merely going to advise her of the nature of the investigation against her. This is not the time to enter a plea. That's the next hearing. We probably aren't going to see a thing, except maybe a screen shot of her and her lawyer(s). It's a sealed case. IMO

A hearing for Krystal Jean Kenney (Lee) has been set for 8:30 Friday, Feb. 8, in Div. 11 - Teller County. (She faces 1 count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class 6 Felony.) #2019CR17

4:13 PM - 4 Feb 2019

ETA: I understand hearing the 2/8 date is "first advisement hearing" so trying not to react emotionally here.... MOO

1.1. First Advisement Hearing in Colorado
Depending on the county, the 1st advisement hearing will be the first court appearance after an arrest. This generally takes place shortly after arrest, usually the next business day, although it could occur on a weekend.

When the accused appears before the judge, the judge will advise the accused that he or she under investigation on suspicion of committing a crime. An investigation generally means the prosecutor has not filed charges yet and may be deciding what charges to file or whether to file charges at all.

The judge will set bond during the advisement hearing in Colorado, except for homicideinvestigations.

The judge may also advise the accused of his or her rights and ask whether the accused has an attorney, plans to hire a lawyer, or needs to have a public defender appointed. Before the accused can get a public defender, he or she has to meet certain income-level requirements.

If a case is sealed, does that prevent locals or anyone else that's interested from attending the session?

<modsnipped broken quote>

sending texts would not necessarily be "destruction" - possibly if this is in relation to KB's phone, she obtained it 11/24/18 and did something with it. even moving it would be tampering, but maybe it is just her own (KK's) phone from which KK erased or altered information (speculation)

Krystal Kenney, 32, of Idaho, faces one count of tampering with physical evidence, which is a Class 6 felony. Specifically, police believe Kenney destroyed evidence, though she has not been formally charged yet.

Class 6 felonies are punishable with 12 to 18 months in prison, as well as a fine between $1,000 and $100,000. Right now, it’s unclear what correspondence Kenney has had with investigators, or if she’s working toward a plea deal.

Her court appearance is set for 8:30 a.m. Friday.

I agree. There is such an obvious unfairness of this woman, KK/KL, who knew about the planned killing of another human being and helped hide the evidence, facing minimal charges, or probation.

Trying to catch up...

Question: Do we have any verification from the DA's office yet that a plea deal was reached with KK?

Or is the info that KK is planning to plead guilty to the charges only coming from her family members?

ETA: Nevermind, I found my answer in the media thread (Thanks PommyMommy!):

I hope a civil lawsuit is filed against her and I'll be shocked if the Judge agrees to no prison time whatsoever. Such a sentence isn't justice for the victim or her family. I also hope the feds file charges tied to the telephone fraud, possession of the phone and the texts. KK's actions delayed law enforcement getting involved and it should be taken seriously by the courts.

I think that no matter the ultimate outcome here, none of us is going to be truly happy about whatever deal may have been struck.

In the best case scenario, she was minimally involved, and will play a role in bringing the mastermind down.

But we’ll still probably be left with a bitter taste.

That’s just the reality.

I find it odd that KK's family tipped off the news media. Perhaps they are hoping that is the only charge KK is facing.
