Very true and well said.
If I were in his situation, I would have a lawyer.
Then I would request a lie detector test from a highly ranked and highly accurate specialist.
That is what me, as an innocent person, would choose to do.
That's what Polly Klaas' dad did...
just my opinion
Chi

Ehhhh to the lie detector for me. They aren’t reliable in all cases, depends how the body handles stress and over analyzing. For me, I’m an analyst by trade so I’d likely fail. They are usually used for behavior analysis more than anything, so you would have to hope that the behavior analyst is a good one. Most attorneys tend to recommend against them, even if innocent.

I too, would do exactly this. But, most lawyers would advise against taking a lie detector test. I believe I would insist under the circumstances tho....if I were innocent.
Funny thing is, I knew a lie detector specialist and even he advised to never take one. Well, when it's a loved one I just would.

I never had kids, but I still suffered a very-unexpected breakdown right at K's age.
I'm very open about it. I was working and doing very well in almost every aspect of my life. Still don't know what caused it.
I definitely suspect the BF but there is always the long-shot of "taking a break". Even my immediate family members never saw it coming.
Headed to work, then it just "broke".
So we can't say for sure, and in this entire scenario, it would be so much better if that were the case than a death.
I'm sure the VI can (or choose not to and I completely respect that) speak to this.
No disrespect at all. Mental issues carry no stigma with me.

Yes I ended my 7 year relationship with a great federal lawyer a year ago. He'd tell me today "call me and keep your mouth shut"...
Actually he tells me that still,

And after she was reported missing by her mother on Dec. 2, the police searched her apartment, where they found both of her vehicles, her toothbrush, and a possible clue in a baked good.

"Yes, we did search it," De Young said during the news conference. "Yes, there were some cinnamon rolls. They were cold."

We don’t know when cinnamon rolls were made.

“Kelsey don’t go out in public without a shower, hair done, and makeup applied. All these items remain untouched. We know she made cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Thanksgiving, the remainder are still on the stovetop.”

About the polygraph... my military experience wasn’t anything exciting, but I was trained to beat a polygraph and I trained a lot with the guys that were training to administer polygraphs. Under no circumstances would I ever take a polygraph. Even if you pass a polygraph it can’t exonerate you and lawyers will quickly point out that polygraphs are unreliable. Most people won’t understand how wildly unreliable they can be until they see it with their own eyes.

The only conclusion that I draw from PF hiring a lawyer is that he thought that he was going to need one, nothing else.
Being a mate, or even an ex-mate puts one under suspicion immediately in a missing person case. Depending on how public the case goes one can be very scrutinized by public opinion. It can ruin people's lives. SM has attacked perfectly innocent people when they have spoken up, taring apart their every word. I do think PF needed and needs an atty instead of trying to manage this himself. I think he could well need an attorney for other reasons too, but time will tell. Remember too, he has LE in his family and I believe they would advise such.

All we have learned from official sources so far if I am correct is that her phone and her purse are missing. Have I missed a critical series of posts? We have the ping, but no phone, right?
And yes it would be very interesting where her phone pinged right after the exchange of the baby's custody.
It seems it would have had to be a normal pattern at that time, just have zero idea how/when it would have ended up pinging some 800 miles away.
Chi
I think someone not KB Took her phone, sent the messages, then dumped the phone. To buy more time to cover their tracks.
I believe the Verizon Spokesperson who said about the ping "it's accurate within a mile".
Now who was with KB'S phone, who sent the messages? Is only one person responsible? Or could there be someone willing to go great lengths to cover for somone. Not KB.

- KB and child went to Safeway around 12:30 MST on 11/22, as evidenced by store video.
- Her cars were parked in her driveway as of 12/2, as reported by her brother.
- Her suitcases and cosmetics were not removed from her home, as reported by her brother.
- Her purse and cell phone are missing, too.
- PF has the child that KB was last seen with.
- KB's phone sent two texts on 11/25, one to her boss and one to PF
- CB, KB's mom reported her missing on 12/2.- Phone ping in Gooding, ID on 11/25 at 5:13pm
- Cinnamon rolls on the counter, possibly made Thanksgiving morning (according to CB)

^ The facts of the case so far. (Thanks PommyMommy) Anyone else want to contribute?

Thank you for saving me the time to find that, much appreciated!

I'm going by either a Today Show or Good Morning America video that includes a FB post by her brother. He said something along the lines of "We know she made cinnamon rolls for breakfast." I don't have it handy, but I'll look in just a bit. ;)

I recall that too. I have no huge issues with before 12pm/Safeway. It’s after that...

<mod fix broken quote>

Chi, thanks for sharing this. I've had several people very close to me suffer breakdowns that I now consider *breakthroughs*. No stigma at all, indeed. One never knows when the branches will ecome too heavy and suddenly start to break. It can happen to any one of us. Though I am not inclined to believe this happened in this case, I accept that anything is possible.

MOO.

ETA: Apologies for the funky quote format. Gah.

Heck, many of us take common meds that would defeat a lie detector, like beta blockers. Truly it isn't that difficult, but it is often a great interrogative tool. Of course no one wants to take one.
LE hasn't got past his lawyer at this point AFAIK anyways, so I wouldn't expect that to happen, unless one is absolutely 100% innocent.
This is beginning to remind me of Crystal Rodgers. :(
