Ha! I’ll be interested to see if the defense goes with the strategy of not only pointing the finger at KK, but also admitting that PF committed a crime (accessory after the fact).
Something like she did it, but he knew about it and covered it up.
Of course that won’t work, but it’s more plausible than saying she did it and he was completely unaware.
Trying to completely sever his involvement doesn’t seem like the smart play.
There’s just way too much there.
That might be their strategy, and could explain why he felt “railroaded”. KK told the details and negotiated a plea deal to avoid full prosecution for accessory after the fact. He just didn’t think of it first and may use that idea.
There is also a possibility he will point at the unknown male DNA in the apartment, which IMO is a weak argument since it could simply be a repairman’s DNA, for all we know. I do recall reading something about Kelsey had dinner with someone the week before. PF might go with she was seeing someone else, it was him - or even say she had an unknown stalker.
He is going to have to come up with something. Because as you and others have pointed out, if he uses KK as the alternate suspect, the prosecution will have evidence that she was nowhere near KB that day. And they have all kinds of evidence that places PF right there at the right time, with motive and a witness confession.
