Wondering if he actually turned his phone over to LE, or allowed them to look at it; and then took it back from them ?
I'd imagine it could take a while to look at calls made/received, and to unlock deleted calls or texts ?
Hopefully he allowed them to download it.

It takes minutes to do, and can capture a wealth of data.

It certainly helped in the Watts case.

Let me ask you a question---a hypothetical.

Let's say for a minute that PF knew that not all of the things CB was saying about KB were true. Just pick a thing or two that CB said about KB--I don't care which. Say PF knew that CB had embellished the closeness of her relationship with KB, or that CB had falsely implied that KB had not acted erratically in the past, or just whatever. Again, this is just a hypothetical.

How would PF go about correcting any misimpressions without looking like the bad guy?
I would assume he has disclosed to and through his attorney any positives or negatives and all accurate knowledge he is aware.

I also assume since the Police have been quoted as starting he has been cooperative with their investigation. All information regarding this case has been disclosed.

In my opinion the public does not have entitlement to information on this case. The more information that is released the more of a frenzy things become.

I have to assume the local police and any other organization involved in the investigation are constantly being contacted by folks who believe they have information that will help them with the case. I would be willing to put some money on the idea that someone provided some kind of information worth looking into. Neighbors are starting to talk a little bit now. I believe some co-workers and other acquaintances are being more vocal. I would imagine these are the kinds of people that can provide information about stuff they don't even realize helps the investigation. And, it does not surprise me that they are 5 or 6 deep when they rolled up on PF.
Crazy story real quick, I went attended the State University of New Jersey. I was a junior there when 9/11 happened. A few months after those events I stopped at a small store to grab something to eat. Similar to one of those bodegas in NYC. There were two middle eastern gentlemen behind the register. One rang me and the other guy was sitting on a stool just behind the guy ringing me out. He was reading a book. It was a book that used to be one of the required readings for anyone working towards their private pilots license. How I know the book is a completely different story that I am not going go through right now. Anyways, given recent events close by I couldn't help but get suspicious. I called my grandfather when I got home. My grandfather was a retired Air Force 4 Star General. Almost the highest rank one can be in that branch. He had a ridiculous amount of flying hours and he ran the Pentagon for a period of time. I told him about what happened. 3 or 4 days later, as I was walking out of one of my classes I was approached by 3 men in suits who told me they needed to speak with me. We walked to their SUV that was parked in a fire lane, got in, drove away to another building on campus and we had a discussion about the guy I saw reading the manual in that store. There were two other SUVs following the guys I was with that day. Whoever was in them never got out. I never saw any of them. Come to find out my grandfather made some calls after our talk. The FBI got involved and that was who questioned me that day. For whatever reason, they travel in numbers.
My point here, I figured out very quickly that the FBI can find anyone, anywhere at any point in time. If they need to get something done and they have the right information, I believe they are able to figure out just about anything. I have no idea what steps they took to find out which class I was in, which campus it was on and what time I would be getting out of it. They knew my girlfriend's name. They knew what street I grew up on. It was fascinating. It was the scariest thing I have ever been through but, still fascinating. If someone is guilty of a crime and those people are questioning that person, the individual would have to be some kind of sociopath to be able to maintain composure while being questioned. I have to believe that if the FBI had any real evidence, on anyone involved with this, it would have been wrapped up well before now.

Have a friend of family member go on the attack.

Possibly on social media.

As long as there is no direct link to him, he would be somewhat insulated from the blowback.

ETA: That’s how I think he would do it.

If I were him, and I had nothing to do with this, I would have reported her missing, publicized her disappearance, and conducted interviews.

I would want to find her, regardless of what was going on.

I’d also want to alleviate suspicion of me.

It’s a bit late to unring that bell now.

I certainly understand your approach and your reasons for them. But lots of SO's who were guilty of harming their victims talked to police, and jumped in front of the cameras crying and wailing, and participated in searches. If PF had done all of those things, then many of us would probably still think he was involved.

Colorado police plead for Kelsey Berreth’s fiancé to speak with them as hunt for missing mom intensifies
“We are asking Patrick to sit down with investigators since he is the last person to speak to Kelsey face to face based on our investigation,” Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young said at an afternoon press conference. De Young labeled the disappearance “suspicious,” adding that law enforcement does not believe that Berreth is purposely avoiding location.

Shortened by me
Kelsey's mom talked to her on Nov 22nd and when she didn't hear anything from her again by Nov 25th, Kelsey's mom called the police. They went to her duplex to do a wellness check. Kelsey's mom is not a "negligent mom".

We know Kelsey's mom had communication with Patrick on Nov 25th. Apparently he told her something to pacify her to the point where she didn't send Kelsey's brother to check on her until Dec 2nd. I'll guess that Patrick lied to Kelsey's mom that said they had broken up and Kelsey was going on a long trip to Soap Lake, Washington.

No, this is not true. What we know is that CB inquired with PK on Dec 2. Then she was told by PK of the text to him, dated Nov 25. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

That’s certainly likely.

But it’s the fact that he didn’t report her missing, coupled with no effort to publicize her disappearance, that really makes me suspicious.

Getting a lawyer and not talking to the police, is bothersome, but not as bad as the former.

I haven’t seen this behavior before, not from an innocent man atleast.

Could you clarify what you mean? Do you mean that even if someone did not get off the freeway, they could have pinged on the Gooding tower?

Yes cell towers cover large areas, otherwise they would have be way more than there already are. Gooding to I84 would not have more than one tower per carrier (and likely all carriers are sharing a tower or two) JMO (but based on previously working at a large cell provider corporate office )

IMO, PF was in a no-win situation from the second KB was reported missing. You're absolutely right, if he had been open with LE and the news media, many people would still believe he was guilty simply because he's the SO. Whether he agreed to interviews or not wouldn't make any difference.

I bet there's a land line at the house as cell phone coverage is terrible in Florissant. Local calls probably wouldn't be registered, but any long distance ones would.

I've wondered how the cell phone coverage was in the areas around Woodland Park and Florissant.

And not to beat a dead horse ;) but for those of y'all ok with your farriers whacking your horses with a rasp, how do you feel about that same person being so angry about a rodeo performance that they leave the show grounds so quickly (not safe, there's usually kids running around and horses tethered to trailers--they might get spooked--)that his horse trailer flips over and the horse inside is either damaged/injured in some way or killed? That's not a minor accident. It's not easy to get a horse out of a wrecked trailer, especially one on it's side, IMO. I don't want to further the debate/discussion or derail the thread any further, just want folks to consider that aspect of PF's personality/character that we've recently learned about, the anger and physically lashing out. Very concerning.

I don't follow a lot of cases, but this is also the first time I've seen this behavior. Most perps want to give the impression of being oh, so cooperative with police. Most try to act like they miss the missing person. IMHO.

But people thinking he is guilty, pales in comparison to the bigger picture, bringing Kelsey home.

If you care for another human being, you don’t put yourself first.

You don’t put appearances over actions.

You do everything you can to save the mother of your child.

You get the word out.

He didn’t.

Yet another article that describes KB dropping off daughter at PF’s residence....”She then went to Frazee's farm to drop off their 1-year-old daughter”. Is this inaccurate? Do we have it firmly planted that the transfer of the child occurred at KB’s townhome? We do have knowledge that a neighbor of KB’s witnessed PF’s red truck at townhome between 12:30-1:00 Thanksgiving Day. Right?
Whoa.
Oh what a tangled web we weave.
So which is it?
He picked the baby up at her place, or she dropped the baby off his place?
Seems the time and space continueum has been defied. That's bigger than landing on the moon.

ITA. I'm not excusing his actions. But he was likely going to be a suspect whether he appealed to the media or not.
