However, he can say these minerals are not likely to be found north of #ColoradoSprings. In most of his past experience, soil found in a car has been tracked in from shoes. @KOAA

The expert believes the samples found in #Schelling's car were deposited by streams or rivers (transported by water, in some way). But, the defense pointed out he cannot say how long the soil was in the car.

Based on the expert's knowledge, he created a map showing the concentration of amazonite near #Pueblo. Here's a snapshot of the general area we saw. If you trace Hwy 78 toward Beulah, where the highway intersects with 165, that's where the highest concentration was (roughly).

When analyzing the dirt, he found feldspar, quartz, and amazonite. The amazonite is a unique mineral, associated with Pikes Peak granite. It can be found from Colorado Springs to south of Pueblo, and becomes more concentrated the further it gets from Pikes Peak. @KOAA

After the retired FBI Agent, an expert in soil science and geology took the stand. He was given six samples of dirt/soil collected from #Schelling's car in 2013, to try and determine where they originated. @KOAA

LUNCH: Before I jump into what else happened, I want to address my typos in previous tweets. I know "illicit" comes with the double L, but I was today years old when I learned it's spelled: cul-de-sac. Alright, back to the trial.
