Oh, I have no idea why. I really hope it isn't...but then, if it is, she could come home and maybe there'd be justice.

Well Leigh, I am praying that your friend comes home one way or another. :blowkiss: Have you heard anything new? I tried to google it, but didnt see anything with her name associated with it.

My prayers are with your family as well as Paige's. I can't imagine the heartbreak you must feel- She seems like such a beautiful woman. :Justice:

Paige Birgfeld's Father Won't Give Up Looking

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) ― More than a year after his daughter disappeared, a determined father talked about his frustrations with the case with CBS4.

A mother of three, Paige Birgfeld disappeared last summer in Grand Junction. Police began the search after finding her burned out car. CBS4's Andrea Lopez spoke to her father, Frank, after the recent discovery of human remains had some wondering if it was his daughter's.

"You've got to keep going, you've got to keep looking," Frank said. "I need to be closer, I need to be active."

I haven't heard anything new. I never knew her, she is a friend of an online friend of mine, through work. I hope they figure out soon, one way or the other, if these remains are Paige's.

Why does it take so long to make an ID? If they have the person's teeth and they can get dental records then it shouldn't take more then a little while! I'm sure that her parents can supply dental records for LE. With dental records they wouldn't even need DNA. They should be able to use one or the other anyway.

I hope it is Paige so that her family will finally know whether she is dead or alive and they can put her to rest. Then they need to take a real good look at both of those husbands. I thought the second husband said that they had been talking about going back together. But of course that is what HE said. Maybe she refused him. All we have is his word about their day together before she disappeared. She could have actually disappeared from his place unless someone saw her after she left him.

Was the identity of the remains ever determined to be Paige?

Paige Birgfield has been missing since 30th 2007
Pagie Birgfield was a single mother of 3 leading a double life.

Her car was found burn out in a car park

There is a POI in the case but nothing further has developed from what I an see.

Here is the AMW story http://www.amw.com/missing_persons/brief.cfm?id=46470

Here is about the POI

And here is something I find really sad http://patbrownprofiling.blogspot.com/2007/07/criminal-profiling-topic-of-day-yes.html

Where basically its said she deserved what she got. And Yeah I call a spade a spade to0 ( the person says everyone should get real and call a spade a spade in regards to Paiges double life)

Whether someone worked as a escort or added in extras that DOESN'T give anyone the right to take away their life by murdering them.

Some of the articles say she feared her ex husband as well.

Anyone know anything about this case ?

Paige's story just aired again.
So, I am just getting acquainted with the facts.
It seems the mechanic is the poi.
But there is not enough evidence to arrest him.
District attorney says Paige's case will
probably not be on grand jury agenda this year

It would be good to see a google map
of Paige's home, ex husband #1 home,
where items were found on route 50
and mechanics home and job site.

MIssing money alleged in case

By PAUL SHOCKLEY/The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Mesa County Sheriff Stan Hilkey on Thursday said he welcomed FBI scrutiny of his agency’s handling of money evidence in the 2007 disappearance of Paige Birgfeld.

The Sheriff’s Department found itself scrambling after Birgfeld’s father, Frank Birgfeld, sent e-mails to several media outlets announcing he had asked the FBI’s Public Corruption Unit in Denver to investigate “missing money” in the investigation.

“I told (FBI), ‘Please look at this,’ ” Hilkey said. “We want to be as transparent as possible. We’ve got $50 seized from a lock box, which Frank already knew about. No other money has been seized in this investigation.”

At the crux of Frank Birgfeld’s complaints were reports aired last June on the CBS program “48 Hours.”

“Contained therein was a statement by an informant, described as a ‘contact close to the ...

Bone in murder probe 'unidentifiable,' cops say

Saturday, June 27, 2009

Nearly a year after a hiker in Utah stumbled upon it, a small piece of human skull that piqued the interest of investigators looking into Paige Birgfeld’s disappearance remains a mystery.

But while questions remain about the roughly silver-dollar-sized bone, Grand County (Utah) Sheriff James Nyland said he’s confident about one thing: who it didn’t belong to.

“It didn’t appear to be recent enough to be from any of these homicides,” said Nyland, referring to Birgfeld’s case and the murder of Leann Emry, a Washington woman whose partial remains were found in March near Moab. Today marks two years since Birgfeld was last seen alive.

Birgfeld and MSCO at odds

GRAND JUNCTION (KJCT) -- Request denied. Tension is building between the Mesa County Sheriffs Office and the family of a missing Grand Junction woman.

Frank Birgfeld, father of missing mom of three Paige Birgfeld, asked to have the Mesa County Sheriffs Office removed from the investigation; that won't happen, at least right now.

In mid-May Mr. Birgfeld asked the Sheriff's Office to transfer the investigation to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Birgfeld is concerned tens of thousands of dollars were illegally taken from his daughters' home after the investigation began.

June 28th marked 2 years since Paige went missing :(. lets hope this coming year will bring some answers to where she is or might be.

It's sad that it took them a year to say that the bones found in Utah didn't belong to any recent missing persons - they were too old. And glad to see several readers bumping on the 2nd anniversary of her disappearance.
