I, for one, am going to wait to hear from LE or a legal expert about this before jumping to conclusions that she died as a result of a "botched forced home abortion" or something. I personally think the charge was worded this way so that the poor unborn baby's life could be atoned for under Colorado law, and it was the only one that comes close to being able to do that with the way the law is currently written. And, if this is the case, I doubt the charge will stick. Just my opinion.

Exactly. I think that's what it was for. A compromise to having a murder charge for the fetus/baby if a pregnant woman is killed. I heard him state that CW ended her life in order to end her pregnancy, in essence. That was the manner.

I miss our old WS group hug.

#BREAKING: DA says the charging documents DO NOT imply that Chris Watts killed the children before Shannan. It simply states a timeframe in which the DA believes the family was killed. Watts will be advised of the charges he faces today. @DenverChannel

Please don't let it be that the children were killed after.....with the arguing and noise I cannot bear the possibility that those poor little girls awoke and witnessed anything.

#BREAKING: we now know the charges Chris Watts has been formally charged with. They include: 3 counts of first degree murder after deliberation, 2 counts of first degree murder of a person under 12 by person in a position of trust, 3 counts of tampering with a deceased body (1/2)

(2/2) and one count of unlawful termination of a pregnancy. All of these charges are felonies. The @WeldCountyDA is set to hold a press conference any minute. Watch @DenverChannel for the latest.

#BREAKING: Court records show Chris Watts faces 9 felony charges, including first-degree murder and unlawful termination of a pregnancy, in regards to the deaths of his wife and daughters.

On or about August 13, 2018, Christopher Lee Watts with the intent to terminate unlawfully the pregnancy of a woman, namely: Shanann Watts, feloniously and unlawfully terminated the pregnancy of the woman. Further, the woman died as a result of the unlawful termination of the pregnancy, in violation of 18-3.5-103(1),(2), C.R.S

She died as a result of him trying to terminate the pregnancy? Did he punch her in the stomach and she bled to death? But count 1 also says he deliberately killed her. Maybe this is a way to hold him accountable for the unborn baby's death?
What???
I wish we had court TV/Nancy Grace et al back for this one. She would be having a conniption over this case, eh?

The charges indicate he premeditated the murder of all three and intended to end the pregnancy when he murdered his wife. They also suggest that the girls were likely killed before mom.

Nothing else.

It's bad enough. He planned this. He specifically did not want any of his children.

If it's true their beds were untouched, I think it's unlikely. Seems more likely that she went to kiss her sleeping girls goodnight at 2AM and discovered them not in their beds, just like CW wanted.

The charge about unlawful termination of pregnancy is interesting. If you kill a pregnant woman in order to end her pregnancy, you can be charged. So what did he tell LE?
Don't know if he told them something or they found other evidence of something. Waiting to read charging docs.

I stand corrected. So we still don't know when. I guess this means they know the date for sure for Shanann because she did not come home until around 2:00 a.m. .
