Chris Watts' Alleged Ex-Lover Says He Plans to Visit Him in Prison: 'Once, Just for Closure'
Trent Bolte, 29, of Colorado told Inside Edition exclusively he and the now-convicted killer had planned on moving in together during their 10-month love affair.

“We went and looked at houses together in Fort Collins,” Bolte said. “I was in the process of moving out of where I was staying. I was planning on getting a two-bedroom apartment, but Chris was like, ‘No, I’m going to be divorced. We need to look at three-bedroom houses and the girls can have a room.’”

Bolte said he does plan to see Watts in prison once his name is added to the visitation list.

“Once, just for closure for me. After that, I don’t want anything to do with him,” he said. “It’s not like I’m still in love with him, but I still view him as the Chris that I knew.”

Pregnant Mom Shanann Watts, Murdered With Her 2 Kids By Her Husband, Would Have Turned 35 Today
When Shanann Watts blew out the candles on her birthday cake on January 10, 2018, with her two young daughters by her side, she had no idea it would be her last birthday — or that all three of them would be dead in the coming year.

In a video posted online of her 34th birthday celebration, Shanann’s little girls, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, sang a sweet rendition of Happy Birthday to their mom as Shanann’s own mother, Sandra Rzucek, joins in via Facetime on Shanann’s phone.

Shanann’s husband, Chris Watts, 33, can be heard singing in the background.

When the song ends, Bella blows the candles out on the round cake adorned with a butterfly on the side.

“What!?” Shanann says in mock surprise to Bella. “Did you blow my candles out?”

Bella giggles as Celeste shouts something about candles in toddler talk.

Had Shanann lived, she would have been 35 today.

Trent Bolte, 29, told investigators he had a 10-month secret sexual relationship with Watts that ended last spring, and now wants to see him one last time.

'Once, just for closure for me. After that, I don't want anything to do with him,' Bolte, of Colorado, said to Inside Edition.

'I have a lot of questions. Why?' Bolte, who told the outlet he was not a male escort, added.

'It's not like I'm still in love with him, but I still view him as the Chris that I knew,' he added.

The two met on dating app MeetMe in May 2017, according to Bolte. He said Watts told him he was divorced while he was still married to his wife Shannon.

They spent time together in a remote Wyoming cabin and according to Bolte even talked about moving in together.

'We went and looked at houses together in Fort Collins. I was in the process of moving out of where I was staying. I was planning on getting a two-bedroom apartment, but Chris was like, "No, I’m going to be divorced. We need to look at three-bedroom houses and the girls can have a room,"' Bolte said.

Chris Watts' multilevel Colorado home is being foreclosed and put up for auction -- for any buyers willing to look past its tragic history.
The house in Frederick, where Watts killed his pregnant wife and two young daughters in August, will be up for public auction on April 17 at the Weld County public trustee's office in Greeley, according to paperwork filed last month.

The public trustee filed a notice on December 18 that the five-bedroom, 4,177-square-foot home is being foreclosed because mortgage payments have been missed. The house was bought in 2013 for about $400,000.
The mortgage's outstanding principal balance is about $349,900, the trustee's notice says. Real estate website Zillow.com estimates the home is worth about $510,000.
At auction, the highest and best cash bid will win, the notice says.

Blankets for at-risk kids made from hundreds of stuffed animals collected at Watts’ memorial
A mountain of 303 stuffed animals with different shapes, sizes and stories used to sit in Trent John’s Firestone bedroom. They came from all over Colorado and were placed delicately outside the home of Shannan Watts.

The stuffed animals were left there by members of the community hoping they would bring comfort after the murders. With the family’s permission, John has organized volunteers to re-purpose these mementos into blankets, and months later, they’re almost done.

John works to send these blankets to first responders across the country, so they in turn can give them to kids in crisis. As a reserve police officer, John says he’s been in those situations firsthand.

As they work to finish the last batch from the Watts’ memorial, he’s planning on giving those to law enforcement officers in the Fredrick area.

But with his reputation growing, John received an unexpected and humbling request. He says Jessica Ridgeway’s family reached out, asking John to organize the same work for the stuffed animals left at her memorial.

Chris Watts Update: Colorado Spent $12,600 To Remove Killer From State
The Colorado Department of Corrections spent a total of $12,600 of taxpayers’ money to remove Colorado killer Chris Watts out of the state, according to a report. Watts is currently in a prison in Wisconsin where he is serving the rest of his life for murdering his pregnant wife Shanann and two young daughters.

According to Radar Online, the corrections department spent $7,061.25 in transport staff, $1,092 on per diem, $2,425 on hotels and an extra $2,020.96 for the transport. Adrienne Jacobson, acting public information officer for the Colorado Department of Corrections, told Radar Online that Watts “made no calls while in Colorado.”

In December, Watts was transferred to Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun — a facility known for notorious serial killers — following security concerns at his Colorado prison.

The additional costs of housing the killer will be paid by Wisconsin taxpayers, Radar Online reported. In December, the media outlet reported Watts was gorging on junk foods and sweets while in the Wisconsin prison.

Earlier in January, reports surfaced that the house in Colorado where the tragic incident took place was put up for auction.

The public trustee filed a notice on Dec. 18 that the five-bedroom, 4,177-square-foot home was foreclosed because mortgage payments were missed. The house was bought in 2013 for about $400,000. Real estate website Zillow.com estimates the home is worth about $510,000.

Chris Watts not fighting wrongful death lawsuit filed by Shanann Watts’ family | 9news.com
The Frederick man who is serving multiple life sentences for killing his pregnant wife and their two young daughters has not fought a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the slain woman’s parents, who are working to ensure that he can’t profit from his crime.

The family of Shanann Watts first filed the wrongful death lawsuit against Chris Watts in November 2018, after he pleaded guilty to killing the pregnant 34-year-old and her daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3.

Christopher Watts not fighting wrongful death lawsuit filed by Shanann Watts's family after murder convictions
"Watts has not hired an attorney in the case and has not filed a single document in the suit since it was filed, court records show.

The Rzuceks filed a motion for default judgment on Monday, court records show. A default judgment can be awarded if the defendant doesn't respond to a suit, triggering an automatic win for the plaintiffs.

"He has failed to answer the case against him," Lambert said.

Lambert said he expects the judge to make a decision on the motion in the next week or two.

If the judge finds that Watts is in default, the court will next have a hearing in which a jury decides how much money the Rzuceks should be awarded in damages.

Watts likely will appear by telephone for that hearing, Lambert said. Watts was transferred from Colorado's Department of Corrections to a prison in Wisconsin shortly after his conviction. Corrections officials have refused to confirm where he is located, but an online system that allows people to send money and mail to inmates showed he was still in the custody of Wisconsin's Department of Corrections on Wednesday.

The judge on Tuesday granted the Rzuceks' request for exemplary damages, which means that any monetary damages awarded will be multiplied. Colorado law allows a multiplier to be applied if the defendant acted intentionally and with malice."

Lawyers: Shanann Watts’ Parents Lawsuit To Go Uncontested By Chris Watts
Lambert represents Frank and Sandy Rzucek, Shanann’s parents. Lambert said the family does not expect to receive millions of dollars in the lawsuit.

“He is (likely) making 10 cents an hour stamping license plates,” Lambert said, when addressing Watts’ current income.

However, Shanann’s family is hoping to receive any money he makes, or comes across, while in prison for the triple murder.

“We filed it in case anything were to come up,” Lambert said. “We’ve heard of people sending love letters to him. There were some concerns from our clients of him profiting in some way.”

Lambert expected a conversation with Watts to be awkward, and possibly even “eerie.” However, when on the phone, Lambert suggested Watts may have come to terms with his new reality, as he answered every question they had openly.

Lambert said the Rzuceks were doing better, since Watts was convicted to life in prison for the murders of Shanann, Bella and Celeste “CeCe” Watts. However, he said the spotlight the murders placed on the family has been trying for Frank and Sandy.

Lambert hoped to have the wrongful death suit resolved before the end of the year for his clients.

“(Watts is) spending 23 hours (a day) in a cell, sitting there,” Lambert said. “He has the next 30 years to think of what he’s done.”

I don't know. They were accessible when I posted them and apparently taken down shortly thereafter. Many of the photos, videos and audio files are included in articles here in the media thread though. Start about page 25.

Video shows Shanann Watts' shortly before death - CNN
It's 1:48 a.m. and a pregnant Shanann Watts is arriving home from a business trip to Phoenix.

Front-door video at her Frederick, Colorado, home captures the moment a friend drops Watts from the airport on August 13, 2018. She can be seen carrying her suitcase up the driveway and to the door.

The short video clip is believed to be the last time Shanann Watts, who was 15 weeks pregnant, is seen to be alive. Within hours -- possibly even minutes -- Shanann was slain, authorities have said.

HLN obtained the new video through an open records request with the Weld County District Attorney's Office. Prosecutors had not previously released the footage.

Inside the mind of a killer: Analyzing the Chris Watts case
Even as Weld County homicide detectives interrogated Watts, getting the husband and father to show even a little emotion over the murder of his family was a challenge. That is, until Watts finally confessed. Then the tears poured like rain. He was caught.

Who was Christopher Lee Watts in the moments leading up to and after he suffocated his wife and kids?

We put that question to a pair of Colorado’s most respected police psychology experts, Lottie Flater and John Nicoletti.

They again watched Denver7’s front porch interview with Chris Watts the day his family vanished.

And they will tell you the lies that Chris Watts told for more than two months about the disappearance of his family were as easy to read as a children’s book. And it begins with that interview by Denver7 on Watt’s front porch.

“He’s so into himself,” Lottie Flater said. “This is all about him. This is a scenario that he has built up, that he has the right to do this.”

Even when detectives showed Watts several family pictures, there was no emotional response.

“No tears when he’s talking about killing the girls. No tears. The only times we saw tears is when they were talking about what’s going to happen to him. That’s pretty… that’s very, very significant.”

Chris Watts, man who killed pregnant wife and daughters, provides new details on murders to investigators: Officials
Chris Watts' father, Ronnie Watts, said his son did not tell him the details about the conversation, but Ronnie Watts told ABC News Thursday, "In my heart I know he didn't kill those girls."

Ronnie Watts said his son calls him every night and "knows the Bible inside and out."

"It's over and done with," Ronnie Watts said of the case. "I am confused why they [the investigators] went out there in the first place."

Convicted murderer Chris Watts’ visitors log from a Wisconsin prison shows law enforcement visiting him on Feb. 18, the day the Colorado Bureau of Investigation(CBI) says it got more information from him about the killings of his wife and two daughters. (I had this document for a few days, but it didn't seem relevant until today.)

Here's what CBI said today:

"On February 18, 2019, investigators with the CBI, FBI, and the Frederick Police Department interviewed Christopher Watts for the purpose of developing further insight into the case. Watts provided investigators with additional information about the murders of Shanann, Bella, and Celeste during the interview."

Chris Watts tells investigators more details about murders
The CBI says that an audio recording of the interview and a written report would be released next Thursday, March 7 via the Colorado Open Records Act for those who have requested the files.

Though the release from CBI Thursday did not disclose any further details about what Watts unveiled in the interview, the Greeley Tribune reports, citing sources close to the investigation, that Watts told investigators how and why he murdered his family – something he himself had not outright discussed previously.

Confessed Murderer Chris Watts Met With Investigators In Prison
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said a redacted version of the lengthy interview would be released to the media on March 7, one week from Thursday.
