The Morphew piece is prefaced as a preview to IE's interview with GMA which I posted about last week. IMO, whether or not we read it today in the Ward, or wait for GMA, we know that this is a story according to defense attorney IE.

The story's expected to hit "Good Morning America" this week. Get a preview here.

Denver Westword
Those who read closely may pick up this note. Most won't. In any case, this isn't journalism.

You're right, though: "The Word" has managed to hold people's interest for a long time with stuff like this; it's their stock in trade to attract eyeballs. This, and the illustrated ads for escort services.

At least the paper published a link to the AA. Hope the GMA folks got to study that document before they had their chat with IE, and I hope they referred to it in ways that made IE uncomfortable. I doubt it, though.

Yeah, Sheriff Spezee and the like would not be the ones sent to the remote mountainous location DA Stanley called out. I agree with you there. LE would most likely utilize Wilderness SAR. In that particular area where recreation is high, they probably have great teams to work with. IMO
There are two SAR teams in Chaffee County. Called North & South.

Open letter from me to whoever has Suzanne or murdered her:

My belief is you're responsible for her losing her ability to parent her two daughters, one of whom was a minor.

Oh, and also her ability to breathe.

That's all.

But that was everything.

RSBM.

You may not like the message, but Eytan has a point. If there is no case, it is reasonable for them to sue for damages.

I also think prosecutors should have skin in the game so they're not wrongly charging people since we have seen a lot of wrongful, politically motivated charges nationally recently.

Agreed, they would love to have another crack at Barry.
There are already ways to sue prosecutors for damages. Many years ago my father successfully sued a Colorado prosecutor, investigator, and arresting officer for violating his client's Constitutional rights, and there have been other cases much more recent.

Iris's problem is that the bolded statement above does not apply to her client. There is most definitely a case against BM. If a civil jury hears the evidence in the AA (and they can, because criminal rules and burdens don't apply) they won't care that the prosecutor missed deadlines. Iris's bill is intended to benefit guilty defendants who get off, not innocents who are wrongly charged.

For most cases and DA's, fundamentally I agree with you. But, sometimes DA's charge people in cases and they should never be charged. The Rittenhouse case comes to mind. Clearly self defense, as the jury of his peers found. The Duke Lacrosse team rape was another case where innocent kids were charged. IMO penalties for overzealous DAs are one method of combatting this.

FTR, and it is no secret around here, but I also think Linda Stanley overreached in this case. And not only did she charge too early, the evidence she did find she screwed up by not disclosing to the defense. She should have developed better evidence, built the case, and then charged. JMO. If I were a resident in her district I would want her to resign.
Agree with your first paragraph. Don’t be so sure about Stanley. I saw the first presser. I saw her on PE. Pure professionalism. She stayed out of the limelight this whole time since. Let’s see what she does.

ETA: unlike IE who is a publicity hound. Very unattractive.

Snipped from the Westword article link posted above, per Iris Eytan:
“But I don't think Suzanne's anywhere around the house, and they need to start looking somewhere else for her, because she was likely abducted or left with somebody and isn't in that area.”

Apparently IE and her client aren’t on the same page about what happened to Suzanne, considering upon his exit from the courthouse after learning the case was dismissed (w/o prejudice), BM exclaimed to Lauren Scharf, “the killer is still out there!”.
So BM admits that Suzanne is deceased, meanwhile his attorney IE claims she was abducted or left with somebody and has been barking in court hearings all along, “there is no evidence Suzanne Morphew is deceased!”. Oooffff. Come on Team BM, get your stories straight. (Insert major eye roll).

At any rate, I love how transparent and how much BM continues to ‘tell’ on himself. Yes that’s right BM, we know the killer is still out there. For now. In the meantime, I hope you have no rest, not a moment’s peace from looking over your shoulder wondering when the po’-po’ are coming back for you. Suddenly I’m hearing a certain tune playing in my head- bad boy, bad boy, what’cha gonna do, what’cha gonna do when they come for you...(sorry got a little carried away, couldn’t resist).

When I warned about the upcoming GMA interview, and to be prepared for the influx buying everything the defense is selling, I for one am glad for the preview -- especially the photograph that IE is currently promoting.

Fortunately, we will know in advance this is nothing but a gross misrepresentation of the statement by DA Stanley in the People's Motion to Dismiss Without Prejudice (4/19/21).

If anybody believes that DA Stanley was referring to the PP road/driveway (depicted above) when she stated a remote and mountainous region nearby the Morphew residence, then hit me up for some genuine Alaskan artifacts! [pg 7/11].

This area received a significant amount of snow over the winter months before a search could be completed, [pg 7/11].

To date, the area has 5 feet of snow concealing the location where the People believe Ms. Morphew is located.

I expect IE will be at the edge of her studio seat when she tells the GMA audience that she has proof that DA Stanley lied to the Court! 'Look here, look here, it's bone dry!'

Barry Morphew Attorney Teases Lawsuit Over Case, Takes Prosecutor Misconduct Claims National

Barry is too mountain savvy to have left a body in a location findable even by a wayward hiker. I am of the opinion that the ATV was used for the concealment in a very inaccessible location.

I agree on the ATV aspect, and concealment in an isolated location. I believe she is buried in a cooler in the mountains directly behind Puma Path.

Disagree about Barry being mountain savvy. He was born and raised in Indiana and spent 2 years in Colorado- hardly enough time to even acclimate to altitude.

Same! Two years in between "working", going to the gym, and working out with the George400? He's a poseur, not bonafide! Thinking he is more like one of them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights. Moo lol

I wonder if Barry and his team have any leads on finding out what happened to Suzanme. He said he went to bed at 8 on Sat night may 9 2020. Who stole his keys to his truck and drove by the bike and helmet locations? Are they searching for the partial incomplete DNA non-match that might match a crazy nomadic sex offender? Is he getting resources ready to search the mines in the area when snow melts? What a relief that he has the financial resources from selling all of Suzannes assets to help search for her?
Yes, It would be nice to hear that BM and company were actually out searching for his beloved Angel !!!
Oh, Suzanne !!!

I think it is very possible that Barry initially intended to bury the body at the construction site. Then the neighbor's porch light came on and Barry had an "Uh-oh moment" .... so in a panic, he had to quickly develop a Plan B which necessitated that the body be moved to another location. Somewhere in fairly close proximity to the Puma Path home would be likely, given the circumstances.

Wasn't this the place where the old woman said she also heard male and female voices? If that was BM there that night, there was a woman with him.

"My belief is that Mr. Morphew has an immense amount of damages that law enforcement and the DA's office are responsible for," Eytan says. "They're responsible for his anguish, for spending five months in jail, for losing his ability to parent his two daughters, one of whom was a minor, for having to pay all these experts and lawyers and legal fees, and for the suffering that's come from the way they vilified him in the press. The DA and law enforcement did that."
-.-.-
That's how premature this arrest was, and why the arrest was basically a political move by Linda Stanley and her office."
-.-.-
But I'm excited for Barry and his daughters to live their life and move forward and try to heal from the pain and anguish that's been caused against them."

Umm, didn't LS do a podcast on YouTube that got her into trouble with the judge (as bolded above)? IMO, there is NOTHING professional about LS, nothing at all.

RSBM

This is clearly incorrect as the case was assessed by the Judge at the preliminary hearing to be strong enough to go to trial, and potentially achieve a guilty verdict.

The prosecution was abandoned due to sanctions, not due to lack of a case.

IE is intentionally misleading the public.

Whoever wrote this article should discontinue saying that Suzanne disappeared after going for a bike ride. That assertion is so stale.
