Mystery arson that killed 5 members of Senegalese family still unsolved

More than three months since a mysterious arson fire killed five members of a Senegalese family, the blackened, burned-out shell of a house where they died stands untouched, surrounded by a chain-link fence covered with dry, faded flower bouquets and dirty stuffed animals.
.....
Two detectives are assigned to the case full-time, said Lt. Matt Clark of the major crimes unit. The department is also getting help from agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to Clark.

As credible tips have come in suggesting possible leads or suspects, investigators have recently been serving search warrants for potential evidence like cellphone records, Clark said.

“Some of these are connected to tips, and some are just general investigative tactics to identify and place someone at a location,” he said. “A lot of these are digital warrants. They’re not physical locations.”
.....

People need to start making some noise.

Honestly, this sounds like a hate crime. Who would they even know and upset in such a short time?

I’m a bit shocked that this case didn’t get more National AND International attention.

Their family needs to start putting their foot down and ask for help from the Islamic communities and organizations in the US.

Though it is entirely possible that it was a hate crime, there is also a distinct possibility of a long simmering personal dispute from with in the victim's ethnic community or extended family.

In the end, the victims are just as likely to have simmering and potentially explosive intra community or family disputes as any other people.

Statistically, the second possibility (personal dispute of one type or another) is probably more likely. Though this does not negate the hate crime possibility, personal disputes either originating in the US or "back home" need to be explored.

That's awful. I hate that type of mentality. I don't like someone in your family so I'm going to kill your loved one. That's just messed up.

I agree. I think what makes close intra community or intra family murder motives common is that the dispute can be extremely personal and also be long term.

Then factor in that those two elements can involve shame or respect / disrespect themes that are well known either with in an extended family or with in a close community and thus have more impact for those involved by adding a real or perceived "insult to injury". The totality is a recipe for violence.

As a side note, Africans can blur close community and large extended family ties via identifying long term friends with family titles.

Thus, when considering the possibility of a family / community motive, the number of close contacts an African can have can be far larger than many non immigrant families.

That reward is great, but it needs to be presented to target audiences in a tangible way, not just as a relatively vague theory.

Could the reward be posted electronically with links to a bank account where interested parties can verify the amount? Maybe include a letter from a bank official confirming that the account is real and a letter from a judge stating that payment is mandatory by law.

In regards to target audiences, the motive for the crime can probably be divided into two broad categories:
A. Haters
B. Personal

Inside information could well depend on somebody close to unsavory types acting on the reward offer.

White supremacists are probably the statisticaly more likely population for the "Hater" motive. Could it be arranged for tangible reward information to appear as "pop ups" on dark web or "barely tolerated" social media venues?

Are there area businesses that that have a far right customer base? I once knew of a gun range that sold guns and right wing literature. Maybe a night club, motorcycle shop, bar etc? If so, tangible reward posters are put up around the business in question. Any known white supremacists have tangible reward information put up in their neighborhoods.

Likewise, one does not need to be white to hate and having a similar melanin content as the victims does not guarantee warm and fuzzy feelings.

Has any local group of black American high school students ever developed a dislike of African immigrant students? What about a street gang or wanna'be gang? If so, they get the same targeted tangible reward treatment as their white counter parts, but with perhaps a different priority. Ditto for Hispanics.

The "personal" motive (and perhaps more likely motive).....

Could tangible reward information be posted at mosques and churches with an African member base? African grocery stores, restaurants, and places of employment with large numbers of African employees should also be approached for permission to post tangible reward information.

My best guess for mask is something like this one:
Unpainted Mask
you can see his hair so it is flat at top, you can sort of see eyebrows... the eyeholes seem big as his eyes show well.
These are paintable, matte finish so may account for the color issues (I still think the mask is white- in contrast to the hoodies). They drew on it imho. Markers are easy.

Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the August fire that killed a Senegalese family of five in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood, Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen announced Wednesday.

The teenagers — two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old — face a litany of charges, including five counts of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted murder, and eight counts of first-degree arson, Pazen said.

Only limite information about the arrests was available Wednesday, but Pazen said the fire did not appear to be a bias-motivated crime, based on the investigation.
