It doesn’t really matter if it is contested. A judge can grant a divorce for any reason (s)he sees fit. Documented abuse alone is enough of a reason, and his ongoing incarceration is another reason. DN could contest it if he chose, but IMO there isn’t a judge out there who wouldn’t grant the divorce to her. She has clearly stated she’s aftraid of him, and there is documented abuse as well as his new menacing charges. Imagine the implications for a court system that didn’t grant KN a divorce, and then DN was later released and harmed her.

I also imagine that DCS would not grant custody of the kids, if they ever chose to do so, unless KN made a clear effort to divorce DN and completely rid him from the children’s lives. IMO if she were to receive custody again, divorce of DN would probably be a condition of that.
