I'll throw this out there as a pseudo copycat simply because it focuses on the Dark Knight Rises:

Serial thief preys on 'The Dark Knight Rises' moviegoers
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/serial_thief_prays_on_the_dark_knight_ogpQm5B0FdCmoXUkE7ObLO

Even a 50-foot tall crime fighter staring down at him didn’t scare off a real life thief — who specialized in ripping off the audience at an IMAX theater on the Upper West Side.

The serial thief had allegedly been focusing on the theater, in a muiltiplex at Broadway and W 68th Street, stealing purses and electronics from patrons engrossed in “The Dark Knight Rises,” the Post has learned.

Adding insult to injury, the suspect, ex-con Nicholas Fairclough, 25, didn’t even pay for a ticket, cops said.

February, did you see this?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...atened-professor-before-attack_n_1922828.html

The suspect in the Aurora movie shooting case mailed "burnt currency," along with a notebook, to his psychiatrist before the attack.

I've never seen the movie Rampage, but in an online summary, it says there's a scene at the end where he pretends to burn his stolen money...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1337057/synopsis
A little later, Bill robs a bank, killing some of the employees. Outside the bank he puts on a show by burning fake money, which he had printed up earlier, to show that it is worthless and causes the problems of the world.

Oh wow... i missed that!

On the actual Rampage movie, he robbed a bank, got a lot of money on the bag, he went to his car, placed the money bag there and grab another bag with fake money - then he went to the big trash can that people inside the bank can see and burn the fake money in there to show that he's burning the money he got from the bank and that he is pretending that he isnt needing it...but the actual and real money was already placed at the trunk of his car.

You should watch this. So many similarities.

Rampage.jpg

from the movie : RAMPAGE

http://www.examiner.com/article/dark-knight-shooting-draws-shocking-similaritys-to-2009-film

In the plot of the 2009 Uwe Boll film "Rampage", a 23 year old white male named Bill Williamson (the Colorado shooter has been identified as 24 year old white male James Holmes) dons riot gear, two sub-machine guns, and proceeds to go on a shooting spree through his entire town, randomly killing the majority of his victims, with a few "revenge" kills peppered in.

The main similarity comes into play with the riot gear, automatic weapons, and apparent randomness of the killings and victims involved. Also in Rampage the killer has a knowledge of explosives, wires a van to detonate, and drives it into the police station to weaken the local law enforcement so that the killing spree can begin. In Colorado the 'Dark Knight' shooter has also booby trapped his apartment with explosives.
The "Rampage" movie poster seems to speak for itself with it's hauntingly prophetic tagline: "Have you ever considered it?".

Thanks for the info, Feb. Can you reduce that photo size from the movie so it doesn't mess with the margins?
