@Cool Cats think of the additional stress on prison staff, especially with an indefinite inmate lockdown.
YES!

Federal prison workers say conflicting orders on coronavirus response is putting lives at risk

Federal prison employees say their lives are in danger after a series of bungled instructions and widespread supply shortages amid the coronavirus outbreak. The Bureau of Prisons on Thursday reported that two staff members were presumed positive for COVID-19, marking the first possible cases in the federal prison system.

It's only 2 monkeys, but this Chinese study found that once the rhesus survived #COVID19 they could NOT be reinfected. Would seem to mean survivors are immune and a vaccine might work.
But, again, it's only 2 monkeys.

Oh @Henry2326 a friend of mine was killed by lab monkeys in Mattawan, Michigan. I was thinking of his coworkers today, wondering if they, too, are testing rats & monkeys.
A word of advice, if you ever have an opportunity to visit an animal research lab decline the invitation if you are not well prepared & educated. Otherwise, you will never
forget things you need to forget........

This is pure evil.
Yours is the same reaction I had, at first. Since then, I've done some further reading and have calmed down a bit.
You know, if I'd listened more to my own gut, I would have done exactly what they, and I'm sure they are NOT the only ones, did, and would have saved our retirement funds. I read further re: the things Sen. Burr spoke to that group about, and just about all of it I had already heard snippets of @ the same time, or earlier, and the CDC put out the same info during that time frame.
We certainly did not have near the amount of investment$ those folks have, but I'd give anything to be able to go back in time. For us, it would have been life-saving :(

Yes but at the same time these big wigs were helping mislead the public and not speaking out forcefully about what was happening.

No. I think this is evil. These aren’t people who depend on those monies to retire. This is sick.

@lonetraveler
Thank you! Coffee filters. I think you have found the magic disposable filter insert for the homemade cotton mask. I had been considering medical gauze 4x4 's too, but I think a couple of coffee filter layers sounds better, cheaper, more available and more formed to face.

Not that I am going to the outside, ever...

I don’t understand why orders need to be issued. We have been told repeatedly what we need to do & tanning at the beach is not on the list. Wth is wrong with people! So much defiance.

People are still in denial about this. Stubborn denial. And when leadership minimizes or doesn’t issue orders it supports that denial.

1 in four humans don’t cover their mouths or noses when they sneeze. People can’t be controlled. There is such a variety of people with different levels of ignorance, intelligence and information. It’s super hard to get people to all be normal.

But I do wonder why so many have to be so rogue. It’s crazy. I guess few were following Wuhan closely.

I’m still seeing people acting like this isn’t a big deal and they just need to weather the storm for a couple weeks.

It’s crazy.

Man. I was just watching the pandemic series and now we are in the middle of a pandemic- and the worst shakeup of the world in our lifetimes.

It was discovered a bunch of people in Congress did it before the financial crisis. IIRC, nothing happened to them because there is no law against it.
Baloney. There are laws against insider trading. In the past, the feds have tackled the lowest hanging fruit such as Bernie Ebbers, they totally ignore the other players and end up with massive class action lawsuits where investors, at best, get pennies for their dollar losses. That's just one reason for the incredible amount of public and media mistrust now. This is different because it isn't about financial losses, it is about health, life and trust. I doubt there will be a lot of free passes when this crisis abates.

have you disinfected all of your personal belongings yet, lol. I seem unable to stop myself.

I put a bottle of Listerine in my car, our local news interviewed a dentist, he’s making patients rinse with mouthwash before he sees them. I figure I might as well rinse if I’m out, hopefully kill any germs that enter my mouth.
I also put OLAY facial wipes in my car, so not only can I wash my hands, but I can scrub my face after leaving any public place.

I have always said, if I ever became NYC Mayor the first thing I would do would be to criminalize people (it's usually men, but not always, cringily enough) hawking and spitting on the street.

I'd still like to suggest it, but the mayor already decriminalized urination and drinking alcohol in public; so I doubt he'll make an exception just because I hit him up on Twitter, lol.

(Aside for the coffee drinkers: If you can manage to find paper towels, they will do for a coffee filter in a pinch.)

I watched last weekend. Cuz, you know, there’s not a lot of other things to do these days....
Never will chicken or any fowl touch my lips again.

. Who raises these people? I was rarely punished as a child, no need for it, we had established conduct rules & followed them. Spitting would have landed me in reform school.

Jeffrey had asthma just like my best friend. I am very worried for her.

Senator Burr should have spoken to that group with the exact same message as the CDC/White House. His alarm triggered a sell-off that harmed the rest of us which is why insider trading is illegal.
