I stated less serious issues....that wouldnt include trauma. Agreed, telemedicine can handle UTI, headaches, minor aches and pains, allergy, constipation, ear ache....yes, he gets calls for these in 911.

In thread #1 I posted that I did telemedicine which I never even knew existed back in January IIRC. It cost me $10? $20? and was immediate vs. waiting to see my primary who would have taken many days for my allergic reaction. I will now forever use this option! I used it again in February... same great 10 minutes to talk to a doc and get my script.... and with a coupon online saved over $100 on my script.

Thanks for sharing again this important message.

When I lived in Minnesota, I had a large vegetable garden. If you don't garden, you may not understand how important it is to gardeners. It is not just the food that will come. Planting a seed is a significant event. You are doing what your ancestors did, for centuries. You are planting affirmation that the world will continue. It can be a spiritually soothing event.

All of those things are desperately needed at this time. To have someone say: No, you can't. Because I said so is more than a little hard to swallow.

Kayaks and canoes are far less stable than any motorboat. The water is still very cold, making contact with the bottom of the boat unpleasant.

Whittmer needs to swallow her pride and back off these indefensible positions.
bluedivergirl, I love what you said about gardening. Thank you.

Well, even UTI you need to get tested for-urine culture needs to be done to see what antibiotics you need. Not possible to do by telephone. I agree that's now is a very bad time to be in ER. But doctors not seeing patients in person really leave some people with no alternative.
Alzo makes an over the counter test. Can buy from Amazon too. I keep a box on hand. I held it up to the screen for my teladoc to see....got a script for cipro....

He is so right.
MASS positivity rate is 22.9.....adequate to open should be 5%.
Testing is higher than other states at 20.4, closer to NY at 28, but experts want 50 per 1000 to re-open.

Testing, testing, testing....

No plan in sight: Test troubles cloud Trump recovery effort

Here is a study showing an advantage to prescribing an antibiotic even before the test comes back in older patients. It appears to be better than waiting to determine the exact antibiotic to Rx.

Seniors With UTIs Need Antibiotics ASAP, Study Says

I’m not sure if you are in the “older” category. :)

Americans at World Health Organization transmitted real-time information about coronavirus to Trump administration
"More than a dozen U.S. researchers, physicians and public health experts, many of them from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were working full time at the Geneva headquarters of the World Health Organization as the novel coronavirus emerged late last year and transmitted real-time information about its discovery and spread in China to the Trump administration, according to U.S. and international officials.

A number of CDC staffers are regularly detailed to work at WHO in Geneva as part of a rotation that has operated for years. Senior Trump-appointed health officials also consulted regularly at the highest levels with the WHO as the crisis unfolded, the officials said.

The presence of so many U.S. officials undercuts President Trump’s charge that the WHO’s failure to communicate the extent of the threat, born of a desire to protect China, is largely responsible for the rapid spread of the virus in the United States."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Information is passed up the chain of command from CDC to the Department of Health and Human Services in daily reports and telephone discussions, this official said.

Any information of a sensitive nature about the growing outbreak was and continues to be shared by CDC officials with other U.S. officials in a secure facility located behind the CDC’s Emergency Operations Center at its Atlanta headquarters.

In the early days of the virus response, those officials included HHS Secretary Alex Azar. Information about what the WHO was planning to do or announce was often shared days in advance, the CDC official said."

LOL next folks will be walking around with slivers of bar soap hanging from their nostrils.

Oh my goodness. I just had a flashback ~ many years ago a woman I worked with had a terrible, endless runny nose cold. She also had a wild sense of humor.

She stuck a tampon in each nostril. I glanced over to see her, with two strings hanging down her face. Thought I would bust a gut. :D

Venezuela's go-to test for fighting virus raising questions

"... they are reporting fewer.

The odd result highlights that Venezuela is going about testing its citizens unlike any other country: Mass deployment of a rapid blood antibody test
from China that checks for proteins developing a week or more after someone is infected, while using on a much smaller scale the gold-standard nasal swab exam that detects the virus from the onset.

Doctors warn that Venezuela's approach could be missing untold numbers
because they do not yet have high antibody levels but could nonetheless have the virus and be spreading it to others.

...

Physicians in and outside Venezuela say the antibody test is best utilized not as a diagnostic tool but to help access how wide spread the virus is in a community, when to lift quarantines or to identify potential plasma owners.

...

The antibody test comes from Chinese biotech company Wondfo and takes about 20 minutes to yield a result"
