So the new refrain seems to be that there's more testing, so the fact there are more positives is understandable.

Funny thing is, that doesn't seem to be happening in other countries, where the virus spread is under control. In these places, testing is going up, but the # of positive cases is on the decline.

You see, more positives with more tests, does not mean the virus is not still running rampant. It just means that we're just seeing that with our own eyes even more, since the testing has increased. If things were actually getting better, the # of new cases would be declining, while testing increases.

And BTW, testing is not increasing that rapidly. The U.S. is still 30th Per Capita Worldwide in terms of testing.

Agreed.

I’m focusing on the hospitalization and death numbers atm, moo.

Additionally, medical experts have also acknowledged that these rises are NOT (solely) due to increased testing.

@SoCalDavidS:
The one coughing uncontrollably in her friend’s face with no regard for the other person was my neighbor. The guest was the one being coughed on.

I loved the way you told the story. I find other people's life interactions to be fascinating at times. Like did they comprehend why you were glaring at them, and if they did, did they care, or just figured going inside would resolve the issue you were obviously concerned about in the first place.

Unless they were sitting outside smoking a Fattie, either the cougher is sick with a cold, which on it's own is quite capable of spreading through particles, or they have Covid-19, which spreads even easier.

That would be so, if this virus impacted everybody equally. This person with the cough is just as likely to simply have a cough for a couple of weeks, but during that 2-3 week period, she might pass it to one or more, and one of them might have far more serious or even deadly symptoms.

But again, that brings back the "we're all in this TOGETHER" mentality, which some still appear unable to grasp. If it does affect them, and they suddenly become repentant, it's too late.

Additionally, while some may have little or no symptoms, some patients in the hospital right now this minute are probably kicking themselves for taking unnecessary risks, as they gasp for air and experience organ failure and everything else.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS DISEASE.

Just because you are not spending every night at a restaurant, bar, sporting event, concert or casino, you stopped living. But if you are dead from covid, then you certainly stopped living.

Adapatability.

“It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able to adapt to and to adjust best to the changing environment in which it finds itself……so says Charles Darwin in his “Origin of Species.””

Agree magz. I think we here have all done really well. We have bad days, fearful days and we support each other during those times. Some of us have health and circumstances that require more diligence than others. Some of us have loved ones who are front line. Some of us have been exposed. Some here have had covid or know somebody who has. This virus is nothing to mess with.

There is no way to convince anyone of the seriousness of coronavirus. If they won't listen to experts, won't wear a mask, believe they're invincible, and have little concern for others, there's nothing to be done. This is America 2020.

@Bravo I believe that I had H1N1 flu in 1997. I was completely debilitated for a month. And even after that, was weak for a year. I had some sort of "Brain Fog" for at least a year as well.

And, I was relatively young then. I have Type A blood, yay, and really worry about getting this COVID19. I mask up, no matter where I go.

Glad you got thru it but to have those lasting effects you had and some are reporting same with this virus is something for folks to consider. I mask as well everywhere and glad you are too. Be safe.

BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma has cancelled "All" Events through the end of July. So not even attempting events with perhaps a Mask requirement to minimize possibility of spread.

They are, however, allowing 1 hastily scheduled event to take place next Saturday. And no, there will not be a mask requirement in effect.

We will, of course, have to wait several weeks to see the results of this 1st since mid-March test case of holding an indoor event with up to 19K, many not wearing masks.

And not only dying, the suffering and illness that can occur in some people alone is enough to make me take this very seriously. I don’t want to suffer, plain and simple. Some of the things I’ve read and heard about, how bad it can be for some—CO Governor Polis was just talking last week about his friend Mike at the DOT who has had to teach himself to walk again, he lost 3 percent of his muscle mass a DAY, and he said them pulling that tube out was excruciating, I believe the phrase was something along the lines of it felt like it was pulled out all the way from his toenails.

This is a vicious nasty cruel virus that causes horrible pain and suffering
before it takes a life - when i think about what this virus is capable of
i get terrified-----i have read about what many survivors are going thru--
it is unbelievable what this virus can do to various organs of the body

Speaking of "test cases," it really is becoming so that we have many going on now simultaneously.

We have the Memorial Day test case, the effects we're likely starting to see now. We have the soon to come potential effects from all the protesting over the last 20 days. Now that all states have started to reopen, we have the impact from people starting to pack indoors at restaurants/bars/other establishments. And then in mid-July we'll see whether the virus is still capable of spreading when you put 15K+ in close proximity indoors, with an almost attitude by many who will attend that masks are for wusses.

One thing is for certain, if you think of the Coronavirus as a Bear, then we're sure as S&*$ poking the hell out of it.

Most of us have had a terrible flu etc. at some point in our lives. You get thru it. I cant imagine getting this virus and wondering hour to hour if it's going to kill me. Some start to feel better around day 7 then suddenly crash.

Trump Rally Is the ‘Perfect Storm Setup,’ for Viral Spread, Disease Expert Says

“The risk of viral spread at a rally like the one President Trump has planned for next weekend in Oklahoma is much higher, the experts said, because the rally will be indoors in a large arena and there will no requirement that attendees wear masks.

“It’s a perfect storm setup: the idea of tons of people, where one sick person can have an impact of generating secondary cases on this immense level, where it’s indoors, where there’s no ventilation,” Dr. Bhadelia said. “I would move it to the outdoors, I would reduce the number of people, I would introduce social distancing, and I would require everybody to wear a mask.”“
