Agreed!!!Wonder if he's murdered before ?

I agree with this!CR employs many Nicarauguans, most of whom are dedicated, hard working people. Let's hope that the right man has been arrested and that this is not a case of simply blaming the immigrant.
On FB Finding Carla:
One relative, David Alastre, who is there in CR, stated a few minutes ago that the family doesn't believe it is Carla.
God, if she hadn’t said that, he may have gotten away with it!RIP Carla.
I'm not surprised the guard has been arrested; he really managed to talk himself into trouble quickly with that 5am story. Aside from that, it's crazy that such an offhand comment ("I'm going to ask the guard for some water") pointed everyone straight in the right direction. Nice one Carla.
*advertiser censored* holes. That’s who does that!People suck.
I was just on her IG, reading peoples kind words. Then this one woman comes out of nowhere and starts blaming her death on how she was dressed. Who does that in the middle of people giving their condolences?
Martinez is 32 years old, authorities say. He was taken into custody late Monday evening after investigators said he was providing conflicting statements about his story and that his story in question didn’t match up with security footage.
On Monday, the remains of a female body found about 200 feet from Stefaniak’s AirBnb rental was confirmed to likely be the body of Stefaniak, herself, by Espinoza. Chief Espinoza said that the body had stab wounds in the neck and other parts of her body, and that her injuries were “consistent with being hit in the head.” He maintained that the body still needed to be fingerprinted before they made an official announcement.
Very true but how did the coroner id the body if they haven't gotten the dental records yet nor has anyone from the family provided a dna sample? (per family's statement posted above)
He likely committed the murder at/after 9pm when her phone went out. He had about 9 hours time until the other guard would arrive at 6 am for his daytime shift.
There was no power. It was raining.
He stabbed her in the neck. Did she scream? Did someone hear something? Or was the rain muffling all sound?
The stab wounds on the arms were likely defensive wounds. There must have been a lot of blood from the neck wounds, unless they were superficial and he killed her by hitting her in the head with something. But there was blood in the room, we know that already.
He had 9 hours, probably a bit less, to clean and straighten up the room, and clean himself, wrap the body in plastic bags and carry it behind the property. Bury it. Pack her belongings, hide them. Where?
Maybe someone heard him moving around, getting plastic bags, cleaning supplies, dragging her body out.
How long was the power out? Did it suddenly come back and someone saw him?
Where is her luggage? Where is the knife and the other weapon he used to hit her with? Likely something from the room that he grabbed while they struggled. He probably came only with the knife.
Poor Carla. How frightened she must have been.
I have so many questions ...
All MOO
You can bet money that he went there with sexual assault on his mind. Murdering her may or may not have been planned. But since she most likely resisted him, game over. All jmo

It's unfortunate that some facts are being skewed by the reporting since poor Carla was found.
example : "The Stefaniak family said they spoke to the Uber driver, Airbnb host and security guards who all say they saw Carla leaving the Airbnb with her luggage around 5am and getting into an unknown car." (Daily Mail)
The Uber driver, airbnb host and the second security guard did NOT see Carla leaving at 5 am in an unknown car.
The fact is that the first overnight guard Martinez SAID he saw Carla leaving, and told the morning guard so. The host and Uber driver were TOLD Carla left at 5 am.
Such reporting can result in the perception that all these people lied and were therefore in cahoots.
It's not correct and throws a bad light on the host, Uber driver, and second guard...and such false info could result in some unfair consequences for those who had nothing to do with Carla's disappearance and murder.
The first guard Martinez is the suspect, the liar, and the alleged killer.
