That's what I'm thinking. The more that unravles the more I don't think that LG was the mastermind. Even though the sheriff said this was not a murder for hire, I can't help but speculate if it was.

Wow, I finally got caught up. I have been running a number of theories, but nothing to link to. However, in the first presser after the initial arrests with the Prosecuter standing by, Morgan was asked if LPG, Jr was the "mastermind" and he went to the prosecuter to clarify and then declined to affirm that description. LPG, Jr may have been more of a "foreman" for the wrecking crew, but my feeling is the "mastermind" had more in mind than a simple home burglary or stealing a safe. Anyway, back to theories. You folks are doing some great work! Keep it going.

He DOESN"T have to know JR!!!

Most White Collar Crime guys DONT know the people executing the crime in the field - people thru people -- never gets tied back.

Chances are if this guy or WHOEVER are the person behind this. My guess is Pamela or some other type of person recruited these people!!

I have to wonder if the guys that commited the crime even knew who REALLY hired them !

I'm saying... that Doug's friends could be right... just because she was on his boat doesn't mean he's connected... even to her. He could have known the guy she was with.....

I don't think it was technically a murder per hire... as much as a ring leader getting a group together to execute the killing. I'm sure the leader gets what he wants and the executioners get the cash.

But how much money would you expect from a home safe? Really? If they were after goods, it would be hard to fence them with LE waiting for the goods to turn up. And with all the perps involved, splitting up the cash they might get would hardly be worth the risk! People involved in business like the Billings were don't keep large wads of cash around the house - unless they did in an unusual fashion and someone knew this fact.

This kind of a "hit" just doesn't add up, unless they were total fools.

There have been statements in various media sources that the 7 perps who have been arrested didn't really know each other very well. So, what connects them? How does a group of guys who are not very well acquainted decide to get together for an entire month to train to go in and murder two people? I still think there is a big piece of the puzzle missing.

I agree exactly - posted this one page back. Seems more clear now doesn't it???

JR would have had money to gain to get his daughter back and several mouths to feed. I dont think the Herkels have any connection. Stallsworth had 4 kids per a member here at WS that knows him personally and was a good family guy and in the Air Force, The rest were day laborers or what nots and could have benefitted from the money.

Seems that this Pamela had the trust of JR - If you look at Doug's records he looks to possibly own some aparment buildings - Anyone know the name of the place JR lived off hand? I would LOVE to compare it to these records.
Not accusing Doug, just checking all avenues. Let's say hypotheically the higher is involved, Pamela could have recruited JR his posse and the other posse.

My last post was more descriptive and I think carpal tunnel is kicking in

Patrick Gonzalez Jr., 35, of the 1400 block of College Parkway in Gulf Breeze.

I think what PLG Jr had listed as an address, was actually his Mom's karate studio.

One reporter asked Morgan to comment on Leonard Patrick Gonzalez Jr.'s request Tuesday to be released with no bond based on what he cited as a lack of evidence.

"And people in hell want ice water," Morgan said, before abruptly ending the press conference.

I think this is a wonderful statement by the sheriff.

Hey Underdog!!!

The more I think about it -- this whole pyramid thing! It would take quite some time to put an operation like this together, IMO. I wonder how long the "real" mastermind has been plotting this. Therefore, distinctively the people who invaded the home were not known by the victims. But ultimately, I think IMO, the mastermind did know them and something, somehow, somewhere went terribly wrong.

Because they were "recruited" - For a much bigger scenario! All in all, isn't it better for the mastermind that they are not all friends, most of them all live seperate lives for the most part?? People don't talk and they go about their business. Sidenote: My guess is JR got his stoner lookin dad to drive the van for a payout. This is very sinister.

Good point... but it could also be a factor of perp x owing perp x something.. and this crime erasing that debt.

I don't think they were after goods though at all.

I wonder about the connection of 5th Dimension Detail shop in Okaloosa County.

Billings being connected to the used car business along with the detail shop two counties over and what I said about Purshu motors makes me connect my ex business partner possibly having done windshield work for all of them and there could have been a drug connection relationship in there as well.

Like I said, all speculation, but..,

I just wanted to say

Well judging by Byrds court fillings and associations with the Sovereign citizen movement, its not a far stretch to think he didn't trust banks and stuff too so its entirely possible that he had a large sum of money stashed in that safe....or something very incriminating that someone wanted along with some money

This has nothing to do with the crime. And sorry to be catty, but I just looked at Pam Long's pic on the PNJ website. That's obviously a drivers license pic, but what is that THING she is wearing in her hair?!
I thought the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O/T I know....sorry......

Excellent point dood.

Maybe what they wanted in the safe wasn't money....but something that benefited someone(s) involved.

I have believe it was a murder for hire from the beginning. I just think if these people trained for 30 days and were in and out in 10 minutes, they knew this family was at home at the time. Surely they would have trained how to rob them without killing them. If they were in and out in 10 minutes, then someone's job was to kill them. With that many people they could have tied them up and just robbed them. Someone wanted them dead. JMO I'm not sure that everyone knew that the couple would be killed. Some may have only believed they were there to rob them.JMO

My brother owns a surveillance company (in Arkansas) and I have helped install these type systems.

1) tHERE IS A MASTER PASSWORD THE OWNER WILL SET HIMSELF (oops, caps) that even the insyallers will not know.

2) There can be (depending on type of DVR) at least 4 remote or on location passwords given with each one having only the access given by the owner with master password.

3) Not knowing their limits, a remote location may have thought he/she shut down the recorder (dvr) but only shut down his access.
