That's what I'm thinking. The more that unravles the more I don't think that LG was the mastermind. Even though the sheriff said this was not a murder for hire, I can't help but speculate if it was.
He DOESN"T have to know JR!!!
Most White Collar Crime guys DONT know the people executing the crime in the field - people thru people -- never gets tied back.
Chances are if this guy or WHOEVER are the person behind this. My guess is Pamela or some other type of person recruited these people!!
I have to wonder if the guys that commited the crime even knew who REALLY hired them !
I don't think it was technically a murder per hire... as much as a ring leader getting a group together to execute the killing. I'm sure the leader gets what he wants and the executioners get the cash.
I agree exactly - posted this one page back. Seems more clear now doesn't it???
JR would have had money to gain to get his daughter back and several mouths to feed. I dont think the Herkels have any connection. Stallsworth had 4 kids per a member here at WS that knows him personally and was a good family guy and in the Air Force, The rest were day laborers or what nots and could have benefitted from the money.
Seems that this Pamela had the trust of JR - If you look at Doug's records he looks to possibly own some aparment buildings - Anyone know the name of the place JR lived off hand? I would LOVE to compare it to these records.
Not accusing Doug, just checking all avenues. Let's say hypotheically the higher is involved, Pamela could have recruited JR his posse and the other posse.
My last post was more descriptive and I think carpal tunnel is kicking in
There have been statements in various media sources that the 7 perps who have been arrested didn't really know each other very well. So, what connects them? How does a group of guys who are not very well acquainted decide to get together for an entire month to train to go in and murder two people? I still think there is a big piece of the puzzle missing.
But how much money would you expect from a home safe? Really? If they were after goods, it would be hard to fence them with LE waiting for the goods to turn up. And with all the perps involved, splitting up the cash they might get would hardly be worth the risk! People involved in business like the Billings were don't keep large wads of cash around the house - unless they did in an unusual fashion and someone knew this fact.
This kind of a "hit" just doesn't add up, unless they were total fools.
The more I think about it -- this whole pyramid thing! It would take quite some time to put an operation like this together, IMO. I wonder how long the "real" mastermind has been plotting this. Therefore, distinctively the people who invaded the home were not known by the victims. But ultimately, I think IMO, the mastermind did know them and something, somehow, somewhere went terribly wrong.

I thought the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:crazy:This has nothing to do with the crime. And sorry to be catty, but I just looked at Pam Long's pic on the PNJ website. That's obviously a drivers license pic, but what is that THING she is wearing in her hair?!
