Circumstances of Disappearance: Craig was a patient of VA Hospital located in Newington Ct. Craig was reported missing by said hospital on April 11, 1976.
 
This doe was found over a year later in an adjoining county about 25 miles from the VA hospital. Thoughts?

The Conn. State Police got back to me and the Granby Doe is not Craig.

Craig's mum, Angela Chiarappa died in 2016. Her husband is Elmer Chiarappa (died 2020), they came over from Italy in 1950 and owned a jewellery shop. Their children are David, Lori, Craig and Alan. Craig and Alan are both listed as deceased.

Alan did die in 1988, aged just 33.

There are also a lot of articles about Craig playing sports and being involved in High School funraisers as a teen.
 
omg how did i not know about this case my husband grew up in middlefield and his mom still lives there its a very small town they share schools with nearby durham both towns are patrolled by state police as they are way to small to even have a police department. i'm going to ask some locals if they recall this case he went missing in 76 a few years before my husband was born.
 
In total awareness of my own confirmation bias - I was doing a bit more deep diving. Craig Chiarappa's parents owned a jewelry store for 62 years ( I'm thinking about the charms found with the Lysander NY Doe.)
