Two things I've been wondering about:

Are there any kind of listening devices that FD could have planted on the outside of her house when he was there for the BBQ?

And could the employees red truck have had a cover over the bed to keep tools etc. from being stolen making it perfect for hiding/moving a body?

MOO

Good question about the bed of the truck/cover.

I also wonder if a car has been cleaned - using perhaps a chemical spray to cover odor - could dogs still detect if a deceased body had been there?

It was reported by his camp that he had an early morning meeting with his attorney (not NP) until 9am, but it has not been confirmed by LE. The phone call with Greece presumably came later. When NP speaks about the 4,5 hour gap in his alibi he refers to 9am-13:30pm. To be in NC between 8:30 and 9:30 he would have to leave Farmington between 7 and 8am at the latest.
Thanks, I wasn't clear about the timeframe.
That LE has not verified the meeting with his attorney (or any alibi) is interesting. I wonder if it ever happened.

That's why I think she was ambushed in the garage as she was leaving her home, not when she arrived after dropping off the kids.

jmo
When did he sneak into the garage without being seen/heard? If she had been home for an hour, she could have seen him approaching the house or heard the garage door. In any case, wouldn't the police be able to determine from other clues in the house (presence or absence of certain items) if it happened upon her arrival or departure?

Missing Connecticut mom 'wrote a Gone Girl style novel' her estranged husband's lawyer claims | Daily Mail Online
" ...Fotis' lawyer claims Jennifer wrote a 500-page 'Gone Girl' style script years ago"

So, how many years ago ?
When she was in HS ? His lawyer is the lowest of the low.

And I believe that FD may have been involved in the death of his mother...just hinky.
One source quoting JD's friend mentioned early 2000s. It also said that the plot had nothing in common with Gone Girl.

The novel rhetoric is ridiculous, Stephen King ring any bells, or Thomas Harris who wrote Silence of the Lambs (scary stuff!)...but writers write.

And no contact of Tim's group Texas Equasearch either that I have heard of - no volunteer searches either - makes one wonder - JMO
Do not understand why they do not put large search teams of volunteers at each site, with a law enforcement representative, to do a grid search of each location.
Given the large amount of land and trees, it would seem impossible for law enforcement only, to cover this entire area throughly.
As the body decomposes it might b harder to find cause of death and traces of DNA and other evidence. Time is critical, as everyone is aware, is the public interest there to help in this investigation?

Many contractors of the type that work on homes that I know have a pickup with a canopy / top on the back so their tools & such are covered and secured. Only the lawn guys are the ones with an open pickup back because they have to haul larger mowers & such and then haul away waste

Yes, I'm sure LE has many more clues than we know about.

I'm thinking it might have gone like this for JD:
Drop kids off at school
Return home, leaving garage door open
Enter house, do last-minute things before departing for NYC
Make last phone call to friend
Enter garage

Where was the vehicle he was driving? I don't know.

Just catching up. My husband did the same thing. Wanted another woman to live with us so he could ‘protect her’.

Divorced now and he’s married to her.

Be careful what you wish for.
If I understood correctly FD wanted to move his mistress and her child in after his wife discovered they were having an affair. The proposed arrangement was that during the summer they would all be living under the same roof.

Holy Bejeus, Only4Justice. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But sometimes you just don't know how cruel / stupid a guy can be.

This is the definition of mental cruelty

My garage was broken into years ago and I believe this is how they did it. I also learned there is a way to do it with cell phones. There are a # of ways to do it, unfortunately. Take precautions, folks, it happens!

And that's why you should always have a deadbolt and alarm on the door between your garage and your house. Mine also has a camera, as we had a druggie who was entering people's homes through that unlocked door from the garage and killing them for little stuff to pawn.

He probably thought about the manner of killing / murder weapon in advance and didn't use a random object from her garage. Unless there was a sudden change of plan.

Agreed. I actually think he probably just intended on strangling her so there wouldn’t be blood. She is not a small, weak person and I think he underestimated her. I think the violence escalated past anything he expected and he had to improvise. MOO

There was a quote posted here to the effect of "let her pay it". I don't remember if it was in a written communication or verbally in court. Now I'm interested in finding the posts about that. There were quite a few. My impression reading about it at the time was that her divorce lawyer wanted to make him accountable. I feel like my own attorney was so smart. He told me with people like this, let them think they are winning. That's what I did and the final outcome was quite a surprise to him though I did not "win" by any means. JD seemed like a very nice, gentle person. I wonder if she ever became aware of the term "sociopath" and how they operate. People look at you with skepticism when you start using that label about someone so I determined not to use it. But when I started to explain how things happened to my lawyer, on initial consultation, he used the word first. Right then and there, I knew I had the right guy.
Yes, in court she stated he stopped paying insurance and his response was that she could "pay it out of pocket."
But that was in regard to the children's medical bills and the fact that they had had several appts.
I have no doubt that she thought he was a psychopath because he complained to the court that she called him one.
I also don't doubt that if she truly did call him that, it was in response to all the ridiculous and delusional things he said to her.
It is true that dealing with such a person is very difficult and when emotions get out of control it can provoke such a person and the situation can become dangerous.
Unfortunately in this case it ended in JD's death. Imo

Thank you @Herat. It’s been rough and I’m sure he’s sorry. He thought when he divorced me, my sons would follow and forget about me. Didn’t happen. Of course. But it’s sad for my sons. Idiot. I’ve seen these kinds before like FD and it’s obvious to me what happened to JD. :(

Wow...I am sorry you had to go thru that, but glad you are divorced, I just have to SMH..

In the Courant article, when JD was testifying that FD wanted MT and her daughter to move in with them and their 5 children the judge interjected and said, "with you there?"

Even the judge must have been like say what...?

The gall ...

I don't think LE normally uses the public to assist in searching for remains or forensic evidence. There is too much risk involved of hindering the investigation.
Also they don't know where to look. They conduct the searches according to what evidence or leads they have. Imo

And I'm glad you're SAFE.

These kinds of outrageous suggestions start giving you a window into what else a bad spouse/partner may be thinking or planning.

Jennifer knew. She had seen and documented his rages, his extensive and compulsive revenge plans. She really knew deadly fear of this man.
