There are two types of technology in play in today's smartphones. When making or receiving calls, and during a call, the phone wirelessly transmits a signal to the cell tower in the area. If you are driving, and get closer to a tower with a stronger signal, the call will switch to another cell tower. It works similar to a radio.

Then there's the "Location" feature. This is GPS technology. Satellites "triangulate" to determine the precise location of your phone. You can enable apps to use the "Location" feature, and you can easily turn it off. This feature, if enabled, can track your journey start to finish.

I don't want to make any wild assumptions, but a lot of people keep Location enabled on their phones, so I think it is likely, although not guaranteed, that LE knows exactly where her phone was until it was turned off or thrown away and/or lost power. MOO

Awesome, thanks! BTW, you can speed recklessly back there too (But be sure to use WAZE. Joke reference to a previous post thread about the time it would take FD to get back and whether you can speed on the backroads around NC to avoid traffic). Originally I thought this would be a candidate area, but then when I heard he crossed into NY for “just a very short time” I was like, that describes it perfectly! Of course, we know that FD is doing a lot of things right now to normalize suspect behavior and location and/or throw off LE

Someone else mentioned the S. Norwalk Reservoir off Old Huckleberry in Wilton, scene of another murder/body dump in the late 60s I think, before my time. It’s also pretty remote back there, last year my father took the “scenic” route with my kids in the car over that reservoir and got lost back there, freaking me out (thank G-d for phone pings).That’s also a quick detour from a cut-through route back to 33-7-84-Merritt to Farmington. Hard for me to believe he risked driving a body all the way back to Farmington, but he’s obviously not risk averse is he.

Good observation, Afitzy!

It sounds like LE has really personalized this mission as they are speaking directly to Jennifer now.

It thrills me that they see her as a mother of children from their community and I'm glad she chose such a place for her home as a single mother even if it turned out like this.

If these people couldn't give her what she needed in life they can do it in death, giving her justice and safety from FD for her children which is really all she wanted.

Just to toss in another possibility here, I've long wondered if FD somehow figured out how to 'track' JD without her knowledge using any number of apps or even her smart phone/iphone or perhaps her cars (not hard to do BTW)?

It surprised me when we learned that FD had been the house 2 days before the missing date so I wondered if he had been to the house previously or if this was a recent change to the visitation process? Could a camera or listening device have been planted previously that we aren't yet aware of? A small camera tucked into the stone wall or driveway area with a transmitter that could be picked up via car or even at Sturbridge wouldn't be impossible for someone so determined to win IMO. Would JD have thought that this kind of invasive action would be possible from FD? My guess is might have expected it.

What has struck me is how hard FD worked to not comply with the Family Court orders. He has a definition of 'winning' that I don't understand but it seems like he was willing to do whatever it took to accomplish his goals. I wonder if this could have included what in effect would be stalking JD and perhaps even involving others in this process, including possibly even innocent children? Could these people or this person be who the NCPD was speaking to on instagram today? I wonder how many other people could be involved?

Just jumping off your post to add that in a couple other cases I followed on WS - I believe it was Heather Elvis and Christina Morris - IIRC that just because a cell phone used a certain tower, it does not mean that the cell phone was necessarily in that immediate area as sometimes the phone will use a different tower just because at that moment, that tower has less traffic/action/calls using it, etc. But nobody hold me to this please because I can't say I know this for sure, but more so is JMO as I'm trying to recall it from memory.

It’s very possible. These guys are amazing at playing victim, just like FD did in his interview. If he gets angry it will because his victimization act isn’t working.

IMO, FD was still setting up EE.

Keep in mind with my theory, FD needed time to set EE up with the 30 trash bags and license plates disposal on Albany Avenue.

Which means, FD had to wait for EE to bring Ford Raptor back to FD that afternoon and make the vehicle switch.

IMO, FD needed EE's finger prints on Everything including those 30 bags and on the Ford Raptor, and I truly believe that FD had EE load the Ford Raptor up with the bags, to get those finger prints.

Had FD left JD at 69 Welles, JD would have been found by the Housekeeper at 12 Noon and possible by the Nanny and the children at 12:30 pm.

The Children had Early Release that Friday at 12:30 pm, and the Nanny and the children could have gone to the house before heading to New York.

I do not think the Nanny went to the house, but FD may have thought it possible, so he would definitely try to clean up and take the body with him so that JD was not found Too Early.

With the Housekeeper, Nanny, and/or the children, JD would have been found too early for FD to complete the Set Up of EE.

Setting up the Waveny Park scenario, bought FD time to complete the setup of EE with the 30 bags of evidence dumped in the Hartford Area.

This part of the set up could also make people think that EE is the one that wanted it to look like an abduction at Waveny Park.

Someone in this thread noted that FD may have wanted the license plates found with the tape still attached and in the Hartford Area, and I Agree.

IMO, EE lives around/near Albany Road of the more than 4 miles in the Hartford Area.

IMO, FD cut his hair to make himself look like EE while in NC and in the Hartford Area.

All IMO.

The involvement of weed is one of the few things I'm 100% confident about in this case.

That and the fact that you can get multiple degrees from top-rated schools and still be stupid.

So that FD could come and go around NC without detection, in the event LE cameras picked up the red truck and it's plates.

All the cameras between Farmington and NC would also need to be fooled, so FD covered the original plates with the altered ones before leaving Farmington.

The crux of the Set Up, was that the Red Truck Never Left Farmington, that Friday.

The crux of FD's Alibi Story has been that he Never Left Farmington that Friday.

The two trucks could not be seen in NC during the same time period, since FD was the only one to have access to the Red Truck while EE was in the Ford.

It was imperative for FD to cover the plates with altered tags to fool everyone.

If the Red Truck's plates were not covered, it would Prove that FD was in NC that morning.

Even if he did not set up EE, FD had to prove that FD was not in NC that day.
 
new, but live many states away...have been following the threads since the beginning (similar experience minus the killing -thank you jesus)...

my adds:
no way FD himself would have done all that noise the following morning- would have wanted to kept quiet as there are noise ordinances, so police really good have been called by neighbors...

hope LE drug tested both FD and MT...

FD would have found a way to kill her, but wish she would have been in area with really close neighbors especially retirees at home watching...

IMO he did the act of killing JD because he is antisocial personality disorder, but had help disposing including MT...

(I forgot how to Bold):

During a time I was suspicious and needed to know, I asked a LEO friend if it were possible that my ex was tapping my phone calls and also knew where I was.

He said my ex could’ve bought an inexpensive device at Radio Shack and tossed it on my roof or someplace else in my yard to tap my calls.

And another device attached onto/under my car to trace where I was. This was back before today’s more modern technology.
