Sunshinegirl, your list is perfect for people affected by all sorts of trauma and we offered them all at our support center, watching lives change on a daily basis. Oh, that all could benefit from such. Thank you.I respectfully disagree with you. She suggested getting a therapist as a first step which is correct. In addition to therapy/medication, volunteering is also appropriate - helping others often helps trauma patients further their healing. Other activities such as music/art/gardening/meditation/writing/photography (creative pursuits) are also helpful when healing from trauma. You meet people where they are so she may/may not be ready for this (or maybe she's ready for volunteering but not therapy yet) but overall, it's an excellent suggestion IMO.
