ORLANDO, Fla. -- Despite a request to delay the case, the wheels are in full motion to put Casey Anthony on trial again next month in the same courtroom she was acquitted on murder charges last July.

...

On Monday, court administrators told members of the media that they plan to hold the civil trial in the very same 23rd floor courtroom as Anthony's criminal trial from last year. Reporters will even be assigned the exact same seats.

...

So far, there are no plans to sequester the jury for the case. The trial is expected to last about a week, far less than Anthony's trial last summer.

Casey Anthony: Defamation trial will start in April

An Orange County Circuit Court judge on Tuesday denied a request from Casey Anthony's civil attorney set aside deadlines set in her defamation case or postpone her trial, which means the trial will begin in April.

Anthony's civil attorneys filed a motion for summary judgment last month, seeking to have the defamation suit tossed. That motion and several others will be heard March 23.

Florida poised to enact "Caylee's law" inspired by girl's death

The Florida legislature on Thursday passed and sent to the governor a law intended to protect missing children that was prompted by the death of two-year-old Caylee Anthony....

Prosecutors said Casey Anthony repeatedly lied to authorities about her daughter. Had the bill been in effect, she could have faced up to 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for lying to police.

Casey Anthony: George, Cindy could supply drama at civil trial

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2012/03/casey-anthony-george-cindy-could-supply-drama-at-civil-trial.html

Will the Casey Anthony civil trial be that riveting if she isn’t there?

You’d have to think not if Zenaida Gonzalez’s defamation suit goes to trial as scheduled next month.

But then I think back to the depositions that George and Cindy Anthony, Casey’s parents, gave to Gonzalez’s lawyers.
...
Parents George and Cindy Anthony have been dramatic figures who fascinate and infuriate the public.

They gave everyone a lot to consider during their heated depositions Thursday in Zenaida Gonzalez’s defamation suit against Casey. Gonzalez says Casey ruined her life by linking her to the child’s disappearance.

George was angry during his deposition. Cindy took hers to another level with finger pointing, harsh words for attorney John Morgan, an accusation that he slandered her and an attempt to question Gonzalez.

ORLANDO --
Where is Casey Anthony hiding?
That’s the question attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez are asking and on Friday, they backed it up by filing a motion in Orange County court.
“So, in order for her truly to get the justice that she deserves, and really needs at this point to move on with her life, she needs to be able to face Casey Anthony in a court of law and see her being held accountable like everybody else,” Morgan said.
The hearing is set for Monday.

Before the opening line of Euripides’ play is ever uttered on stage, director Ann Aiko Bergeron utterly convinced the audience on opening night at UMD’s Dudley Experimental Theatre that “Medea” is a horror story.
Scholars say that in “Medea,” Euripides is commenting on Athenian intolerance towards foreigners (Medea calls herself a “citizen of nowhere”), but I dare say a contemporary audience comprised mainly of college students is going to be reminded more of the Casey Anthony trial or the failed celebrity marriage of their choice than of the issue of illegal immigration. However, what everyone who sees this play should be impressed by, is how Euripides turns Medea’s heated anger and heartrending anguish into a coldly calculated dialectic of death.

Lawyers want Casey Anthony's address

http://cfnews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/news/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2012/3/11/will_we_soon_find_ou

Casey's first civil trial is scheduled to begin in April.

Judge Lisa Munyon has already denied a motion from Anthony's attorneys to push the trial back to a later date.

But now, Gonzalez's attorneys are expected to ask for the trial to be pushed back, because of a conflict. Two of her lawyers have other court cases the day before the civil trial is scheduled to begin -- one in Osceola County, and one in Jacksonville.

Casey Anthony's address to stay secret

Casey Anthony can be subpoenaed for her civil trial -- if attorneys can find her, that is.

Monday morning, Judge Lisa Munyon ruled Casey's whereabouts can remain private, but said Zenaida Gonzalez's lawyers have the right to subpoena her.

As for whether the civil trial will be delayed, the judge said she would rule on that at a later time.

Casey Anthony lawyer: threats have been made to Casey, legal team and family members

"Anthony's lawyers this morning said they object to the motion that would compel her to show up in court for four reasons: The law doesnt require her to attend; there's no need for her presence; it would cause a media frenzy and it would pose a danger to her and others."

If Zenaida Gonzalez’s attorneys want Casey Anthony at the defamation trial, they’ll have to find her.
Anthony’s address will remain private, a judge ruled this morning.
Would you bet against Morgan & Morgan? The law firm, a familiar presence on Orlando TV screens, has the resources and determination to find Anthony.
