anyone care to share theories on why her facebook page has been deleted? It was accessible yesterday around noon, and then a few hours later it was gone.
I Imagine it is the best for ALL concerned. MHO

Her FB would get many RIP posts, many politically motivated, and many just piercing eyes at a time that they want to draw the curtains and not account to the world in their grieving time. She had a clean reputation and FC was left as she left it without the public muddying it all up. I have been reading here and I think it is good that they are pulling in.

Wow.....another high profile odd death with DC ties. Don't know if they are related. Did she work with the project at Little Rock AFB, also?? Just curious. I would need more info before I suspected the husband, but this is certainly a weird accident.

Songline--I'll ask but I imagine that your friend had a gas leak or was in an enclosed space. I am no expert but I've paid reasonable attention in living with a contractor/mechanic for over 38 years. He's not a WSer (the poor man cannot type!!) but he certainly looks over my shoulder.

FWIW, I've felt that the three recent car fire deaths which we've had threads concerning (linked to above) have been extremely odd. Modern cars have an amazing amount of safety features built in, which most of us aren't even aware of.

And a reasonably new BMW SUV? We're talking safe as it gets.

An old friend lost his dad in a car. His dad was reading the paper and the car was filled up with fumes, next thing we know he was dead.
Maybe she took a call and did not notice that the car is filing up with fumes?
I surly refuse to get on her grieving husband this early in this saga. All I can think of is Poor Men, he just lost a beautiful wife, and mom to his kids that is enough to deal with.

People can get ugly with no reason. NOW -IF we come up with reason to point at him, then it would be another story.

I have no idea how the house was laid out, where he was within the house in relationship to where that garage is, but all I can do for now is feel sorry for him and his children.
But do ask your husband missizzy how did my freind or anyones car end up with fumes, I can only imagine his foot was on the gas?

Yes, fumes could be an answer, but the fire is really throwing a hitch in my thinking :waitasec: . Was the husband sleeping? I usually listen for my garage door shutting too (boy cats entering :maddening: and 'marking') when my wife or daughter leaves... maybe he didn't or was doing something else during that time period.

Wow I must be the exception to the car fire rule. I have had 3 cars catch fire all car fires started while the car was driving and one within 10 minutes of start up.

A 2001 daewoo fire started in the truck due to a unproperly installed stereo ground wire.

Very little damage due to little air getting to the truck compartment.

a 1985 MR2 fire started due to heat in the engine compartment due to the oil cap being left off (not proven but suspected)

This car exploded and melted glass the car went up fast and my hubby had 45 seconds from exit of car until the flames bust into the air about 30 feet and over took the complete car. It looked like a suicide boomer used the car. I have pictues if anyone wants to compare very intence heat and fire damage to the demage Ashleys car suffered. Just let me know and I will post. The tires exploded the glass exploded and melted. Some spots on the car looked great ,it had been just painted.

Before he got the car to a stop he lost brake and clutch functions.

A 1986 Chysler new yorker caught fire due to some recalled part of the wiring harness. I drove the car unknowing of the fire that was in the firewall. This fire took about 35 miles to get itself going enough to make it appear something was wrong with the car . It was still running but acting funny and only slightly. If I had not got where I was going I would not have known about the fire until much later. The only reason the fire was spotted was because I back up into a spot under a light pole and saw what I thought was steam from maybe overheating. My friend who was riding along suggested we get out fast in case it was on fire. I laughed and looked under it and saw flames , I stopped laughing. This car burned slow and burnt the inside of the car up and not the outside. The body looked perfect ( I may have photo but I am not sure ) The glass did not melt nor did the tires exploded.

There are lot of reason cars can catch fire and some of those reason can be created by the cars owners or shops who work on the cars or install the radios or other devices.

I wonder it she had remote start and tried to get her car out of the garage trying to save it and it had already melted important parts of the and the flames heat over took her once she moved the damaged car. She may have thought the garage was on fire and not the car. Was the car locked?

Some people take anxiety drug before flights.

My apologies in advance if someone has asked this question but here goes.

Does anyone know if either Ashley or her husband were smokers?
Could a spark have smouldered in the passsenger seat overnight? (wonder if the seats were leather?) or on the carpeting? And then the heat combined with starting the vehicle caused the fire?

These questions seem dumb to me so please forgive me. I am just looking at all possibilities based on the info we have been given. Personally, the whole thing sounds hinkey to me but I am open to considering all options.

My understanding is the garage is in the back - maybe detached?- so he wouldn't hear anything.

I think she worried for her family and tried to get the car out and onto the street, but it was too late. :( it blew up.
Brave lady.

RIP angel Ashley :angel::angel::angel:

The garage appears to be attached at the back of the house. If the bedroom was in the front, he may not have heard anything.

The car didn't blow up. If you look at the photos after the fire was put out, the car barely looks damaged.

Hopefully, LE is 'locking it up' so that they can see (if necessary) if there was any usual activity or messages on her page.

I wonder if we will be told the autopsy results?? or if they will be made public??

Wonder when the autopsy is scheduled for.

""The autopsy on that body has been completed. However, the cause and manner of death are 'pending' at this time," said Beverly Fields, a spokeswoman for the D.C. Medical Examiner's office. She wouldn't confirm it was Turton but Fields said she believed there was a "tentative identification."

according to the link they are investigating the cause of the blaze vis a vis the vehicle. The article alludes to the fact that according to their internet searches other vehicles of this type have been involved in fires.

Plans for a memorial are ''pending''.

according to another source it would seem that it may be some time before we know the actual cause of death

"But Fields said the morgue is awaiting autopsy results, and it could be 60 to 90 days before they pinpoint the cause of death. “It could be next week; it could be a while,” she said.

Positive id has not been made according to this source.

Any idea why the delay in ID'ing her? From the videos, it does not look like her body would have been unrecognizable. This still seems awfully mysterious to me.

Yes, it twigged my imagination too! Also noteworthy is the absence of video or statements from the husband.

She had a great smile -- dentists do have records with which forensic staff can compare. It would seem to me that her dentist would be able to provide xrays or even moulds if she had had orthodontics to confirm her identity. It's all a bit too odd for me that they have ''no positive id'' --

Further, it appears that this incident is ''accidental'' at this time.

"An autopsy has been conducted, but results from toxicology tests had not been returned late Wednesday. A cause of death had not been reported.

Piringer said detectives had considered a mechanical malfunction and homicide as possibilities. "All these things have to be looked at and ruled out, but most of our focus is on this being an accidental death," Piringer said.

arson to cover up murder.

where do you get this? Arson to cover murder? Who murdered her? Are you
saying the husband did without proof?
I need some evidence before I convict someone.

Concerning an "unknown medical condition" as pertaining to accidents--most often those words are used to describe diabetes, heart disease or a seizure disorder. JMO

She does have three children, however, and it's surely possible she could carry three babies with those conditions but not highly likely. The children could be adopted, though.
