Wow. I think she was the one quoted a few days ago as saying that she told Tatum to stop with gifts and the money to her daughter. Good for her…

But, I don't think Tatum can return Relisha at this point. After Shaniya - and the hotel video of Relisha - and the trip to Richmond - and his wife… Just trying to put all those things together. :no:

that part of the article is a bit confusing, because they have referred to both Ashley and Shameika as "Young" instead of being more specific. I believe in that paragraph they're referring to SY, Re's mom.

NO BODY FAILED THIS CHILD BUT THE FAMILY!!!! UGH!!!!!

Amen! I know the system is not perfect and has failed miserably all too often. But in this case - the system was doing its job. OHIELIZ stated it so perfectly way upthread - she so pointedly captured what the system DID for this child and what it did not do - and that was - give the child away.

I read this case early on and made myself walk away because it was too disturbing . I really tried to understand and not judge. I put myself in the positions of perhaps needing to heavily rely upon others to care for my children and how awfully scary that would be and maybe being fooled. But the more I read the more angry I became. The FB posts were the last straw. I know at least 3 women who have been in dire financial straits - one of which battled cancer with hardly any family around except her three children. The respect I have for these ladies is tremendous and reading those FB posts and articles was infuriating to me. There is no excuse for what occurred here and the audacity to question "why"?? there is no free pass for this behavior.

Another woman in that same shelter reprimanded KT for approaching her child with money. I will not get on a soap box and point out all the ways life could have been made better for those kids. This is a victim friendly site but I do not consider the woman who gave birth to this sweet child a victim at all. I will not disparage the word "mother" by using it to identify the woman in this case.

As I try not to get wrapped up in this - I already know it is too late - I am praying for a miracle and this little girl is occupying my thoughts. I pray that I i find this discussion appearing with a Yellow title and not a red one.

HOLD UP! Looking at this again I see something missing that is very crucial and that is NO mention of Relisha!!

Oh no! My stomach just dropped because I think I just realized this is not good considering they were searching woods by the shelter today. I was so convinced he still had her somewhere, now I am not sure.

My eyes were big thinking the same thing before I came to your post. The friend who picked him up certainly would have been asked if R was with him! I assume the answer was no, or the report would be picked both of them up from the Red Roof Inn.

I also go back to the Holiday Inn they have video of. They clearly know how many days he was checked in there, how many times they saw him or them come and go and if and when was the last time she was seen leaving! The video is from the door of the hotel room! Unless she left through a window, then there is more exact info! I wish they would at least release the last time she was seen at that hotel. OR make that hotel a bigger issue- the name, the location, etc. LOTS of people go to hotels and could have seen her or heard things on those days!

Which brings me to my next question- no one heard a gun shot through the walls of a Red Roof Inn???

Sooooo much that is shady shady surrounding this case. Be safe, baby girl.

Tatum, the janitor

A social worker calls Tatum, who arranges a meeting at the shelter. He doesn’t show up, and the worker discovers he’s actually the janitor, and had left his shift early that day. The referral says that a school official called “regarding educational neglect and stated that Ms. Young was unable to account for Relisha’s whereabouts.” D.C. police are called and launch a missing person investigation. At 9:39 p.m., an officer calls Tatum’s cell, but it goes straight to voicemail and is never again reactivated.
At 10:04 p.m., Tatum checks into Room 132 of the Red Roof Inn, and is seen with four people, none of them, police say, is Relisha. Less than an hour later, three people leave.

One person returns to the motel at 5:40 a.m. and sees Tatum’s wife, Andrea Tatum, lying on the bed. He is not allowed inside. He tells police that in the last month he helped Tatum do Internet searches for a handgun and downloaded images on an Apple iPad.
— At 8:01 a.m., Prince George’s County Police receive a request from D.C. Police to help with the missing child. They learn Tatum might be driving a maroon 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer with a Washington Redskins emblem on the back window. Police say the vehicle was seen parked outside Room 132 of the Red Roof Inn. Police went inside and found Andrea Tatum, 51, lying face down on a bed and shot once in the head.
— Police put out an alert for another vehicle, a white GMC truck, but find that abandoned in Hyattsville. Tatum is charged in a warrant with murder in connection with the killing.

if atlanta trip was march 8th.. Relisha could very well be in Atlanta.. wasn't she last seen on the 7th at school picking up her brothers (but she did not attend)?

If he did go to Atlanta the weekend of March 8th (and it wasn't just some BS story that he came up with/told mom/etc) there has to be some account of that trip via bank statements to get gas or turnpike tolls.

District officials say they were duped by Relisha’s mother into thinking Relisha’s extended absences were excused, citing the false reference to a “Dr. Tatum.” They defended handling the case, saying the school notified child welfare officials in accordance with the law.

In early March, worried teachers had asked Relisha’s now tearful mother why she had never come back to school. Young insisted Relisha was simply home sick.
What was said to the school by the mother was that this person was a doctor, and that the doctor could verify the child was ill. But it turned out to be Khalil Tatum posing as a physician.
He assured the school that the child had been ill.
Social workers went to the shelter and figured out it was all a lie, and at that point, they panicked.

General, shows that a social worker noted that one of Young’s boys had been physically abused by being thrown to the ground, cutting open his lip, and slapped in the face. Records say the mother was “verbally abusive on a regular basis and would leave [the children] alone often.”

I agree.. he most likely still had his cell phone on at that point too so hopefully they can ping it to see where exactly he went (because I am pretty sure it was not a medical convention!)

Khalil Tatum is charged in Maryland for the murder of his wife, Andrea Denise Tatum. He is believed to be travelling with 8-year-old Relisha Tenau Rudd. The FBI said information has been developed that suggests Tatum may be headed to, or in Atlanta.

No no… That doesn't sound good. Either he had left Relisha with someone else and went to get her, or he took her to someone. Neither one of these scenarios are good. :no:

Last seen March 7th on school grounds. Since then, there have been nothing but lies about her whereabouts. He says she went to ATL with his family...no evidence of that. He says she is ill....bogus papers about that. He says he will bring her back to the Mom...he never did. He flees on the 19th when the heat is on and he catches wind that officials are looking for Relisha. I would think the his circle of friends would talk for 70K...but nothing. Simply because I am afraid he has hurt her and hid her. I think if he can pull the trigger on his wife, he has no regard for human life. Age is clearly just a number to him.

Sorry guys...trying to stay hopeful. This is looking grim to me.

THEY PAY FOR EVERYTHING TO DO WITH CHILDREN INCLUDING SPECIALISTS AND THERE IS A ZERO CO-PAY FOR MEDICATION.

I am livid LIVID at this egg donor (can I say that instead of mother)? No doubt at all - not that there ever was any, that Shamika was selling her daughter. I can't believe I made it this far in a post without cursing.

I want to scream/talk at someone about this. LIVID. Shamika's mom didn't have custody of her when she was growing up (hmmmmm wonder if the family is in the business of selling off their daughters to men).

Okay, first thing to know about me is that besides my 9-5 sorta jobs - plural. I am a sex worker and I do work in outreach. I've met women who started being pimped out at 11 or so by their mom's (it's always their moms). When I started doing outreach it was in Hunts point Bronx (NYC). All those women were just lost forever. I want to just tell you all, please believe me when I say: Us sex workers would not do this to our kids. We are a sisterhood but there are nasty people who sell their kids (I consider them pedophiles even if they aren't having sex with them themselves) - that sell their children from one man to another till they are old enough to hit the stroll.

The people who do stuff like that aren't sex workers, they are the boogiemen. I am so so so so so so sorry Relisha. G-d please don't let me find you 10 years from now walking into my outreach center. Please let someone find her and please please I beg them to save her. Please save her.

I am just distraught ..

Shamika just brought to light the everyday happenings of underbelly. Even though we have no confirmation yet; Relisha (if she's being sold) is the poster child for what sex trafficking REALLY is in the United states. Not the stuff you see on tv, it's this... this is how it happens, The mothers and grandmothers and aunties work in unison to "make that hustle"
