Was just coming to post this! We'll take it! At least her name is back in the lime light. That in itself is a victory.

Councilmembers LaRuby May and Jack Ward introduced a piece of legislation known as the "Relisha Rudd Law." https://www.scribd.com/doc/307226260/Requirement-to-Report-Missing-Children

This three-page bill would make any parent or guardian legally responsible for failing to report a missing child. If the child is under the age of 12, a parent or guardian would need to report it within 24 hours. If they're over the age of 13, but not yet 18, they'd need to report it within 48 hours.

Failure to do so would constituent a misdemeanor crime.

Misdemeanor ? Pfft

Why haven't the mother and grandmother been charged yet? Sad case. Still praying.

I really hope CPS is keeping Relisha's little brothers out of the hands of both those women.

Never forgotten!
Always remembered!

This morning, I read what is a nice article about the love a mother goose has for her goslings.
http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/offbe...elp-untangling-baby-from-balloon-string/ar-BB

Instead of feeling warm and fuzzy, I got hit by a wave of sadness because I remembered little Relisha.
A lovely little girl who kept asking people to help her escape from the squalor of the life in which her family trapped her, who worked harder than the adults in her life to protect her brothers, and tried so desperately to meet the expectations of others.

A little girl whose own mother did not have the maternal instincts of this wild bird.

Relisha, if you ever read this, please know that people are witnessing your life and your struggle. People have not forgotten you, and you have impacted the lives of many, many others. People who pray for you, who think about you, who search for you, who tell your story again and again so no one will forget, and, I believe, who continue to look after your little brothers as you would want them looked after. As you should have been looked after.

You are not forgotten.

Happy Fourth of July, Relisha.

And thank you to all those who continue to search for this lovely child, to all those who support the searchers, to those who protect and nurture the little brothers she so loved, and to those who continue to hold Relisha in their thoughts and prayers.

A senior law-enforcement official, speaking to me on background, asked, “What’s a grown man doing with a little girl in motels?” The official said he strongly believes Tatum was “pimping” Relisha “for himself and others.” “People in this city have no idea how many kids are being taken advantage of by predators,” the official added. This official also speculated that Tatum’s wife “found out about what he was doing and he killed her.

"That is, of course, something authorities would have to prove on the record and in a court of law — if that opportunity ever came to pass.

But there is no question that homeless children living in the city’s facilities are vulnerable to the kind of abuse likely heaped upon Relisha. There are more than 1,200 children living in overflow shelter motels, and more than 300 girls and boys at the D.C. General facility.

Saturday was Relisha's birthday.

:Happybirthday: Relisha!

Happy Belated Birthday little girl! Wish we knew what happened to you! :heartbeat:

Her mother did not attend! :notgood: It doesn't sound like Relisha's brothers attended either. That's sad! They loved Relisha. She was like a mother to them. I cannot believe charges were never filed.

Trains, trains and more trains! Thinking about Baby Girl a lot lately! Where is Relisha? My heart is heavy! :candle:
