I had it and lost it- what is the exact address of the crime scene?

I seem to have noticed that SS voice message to NG initially was normal and slow . From the point where you could hear Philip , talk which was much faster towards the end . I think Philip was a strong and courageous young one who tried to take the opportunity to inform his terrible situation .

Hello, I apologize that my question has got to be duplicative, but would somebody please post the link for the audio voicemail message of SS to NG (with Phillip on near the end)??? I've searched all over online and can't find it - all I saw was a line that 'abc obtained the voice mail...' TYIA !!
-
Was there a thread about this case b4 this one?? I sure can't find it, but it seems like there must have been. Link please !
-
Also, I have not read through the entire thread yet, just the 1st couple pages, but, gosh, it sure does seem that it would be NO surprise if we come to learn that that brand new employee (thread says he began his job for SS in March) who lied to the police about the money was actually a mastermind of the whole plan. IMO The only sensible reason I can imagine for the employee to lie to the police about the $40K in cold cash would be if the employee was an 'old timer' at the company and said that to protect SS - that the employee knew SS was 'crooked' in handling piles of cold cash. I gotta say, I still am confused by what all the lies were - one for sure was that the car was actually UNlocked. But, was there also a lie about the $40K - - was that $40K sitting in some safe at the company ('dirty money') and the 2 employees never went to the bank at all? Also, so wierd, why all the chaos of having 3 employees need to handle that money transaction and drop the cash into the SS' unlocked car? The maid who was not present spoke to press and said she knew the $40K was going to be delivered - - were 'drop offs' of big piles of cash a normal occurrence at the SS household?? All very, very wierd.
-
One thing I find really wierd, and D.U.M.B., is how 'only' $40K cold cash was taken and these 4 people held hostage, tortured, murdered, home set on fire, Daron Wint driving that hot Porsche up to Maryland - - those things had me think Daron Wint did the whole thing all alone - - if some smart 'mastermind' was behind such a plan, you'd think they would have set things up to make SS give them a huge pile of money, and take the family silver, stuff like that.... ???
-
But, why the 5 other people with Daron Wint when the arrest happened? Why that box truck (maybe it had the keys in it, and it could have been any old car/truck that those people found to steal...)??? Where were all 5 of them going?
-
I also found it S.T.U.P.I.D. that somebody would go hold that family & maid hostage, torture them, torch them, run off in their hot Porsche and torch that car in Maryland, wind up with a 'profit' of $40,000 in cold cash, and then give $1,000 of that money to a cab driver for a ride from Maryland to north Wash. D.C.??? That has me think Daron did the whole crime all alone, because so much of the crime is D.U.M.B. So, did Daron tell the cab driver, 'Here's $1K, but you gotta never tell...', and then the cabbie blabbed to the cop'pers??? I wonder why Daron didn't choose to murder the cabbie - with all the other things he is accused of doing, murdering another person (and then torching them, for good measure), sure would make sense, wouldn't it?
-
Any talk about Daron having a gun/rifle? Do we know if Daron is 'good' handling guns???
-
About the pizza crust: Very wierd, IMO. I wonder if Daron's DNA has been found elsewhere??? What about on the pizza boxes?? (I've read there was a water bottle that's being examined, but surely police have the DNA answer on that water bottle....) I SO could NOT be a criminal (and grateful not to be :-) ) ---- gheesh, No Way would I fret about leaving my DNA on pizza crust - I'd be so CLUELESS about such a potential issue !! (However, if it'd been me, I'd probably have devoured the entire pizza, leaving no crust/DNA..)
-
Because Daron is 155 and 5'7" (I believe), and such a muscular guy, I am thinking he did get real hungry & 'need' his Dominoes and thought he could eat both pizzas. But when the pizza arrived, his tummy got filled up faster than he thought ('eyes bigger than my stomach' principle...). I feel that Daron was all alone at the home and with the family and was easily able to terrorize and control all 4 of them - Not a Problem, for guy like we've learned Daron to be ! - - and because the $40K cold cash 'drop' to the home was pre-planned (according to the maid who lived....), Daron must have had some ****-contact at SS's company (Amer. Iron Works) - add that to the lying 'Witness 1', I just guess Daron and Witness 1 are close pals, partners in crime. Witness 1 couldn't be at the home, cuz' Witness 1 had his 'role' to play at the business.
-
But then, what's with the 5 people all driving with Daron Wint in the box truck and Daron's GF's white car??? We're told somewhat more than $10K was with them, including money orders (purchased to 'launder' the cold cash, so as the group spent the money they felt they wouldn't be noticed if some of the time they used money orders....), so I'm thinking Daron brought those 5 people in on his crime after Daron heard that he'd been identified. Since Daron's brother was with Daron, IMO, sure makes sense that the other $30K cold cash is being held now with one of Daron's trusted pals, likely a sibling IMO (cuz' 'blood's thicker than h2o').
-
I want to throw in the pot that I just watched The 1st 48, about the young black man/kid (20 y old?) who was at a party one night - - that kid confessed to the police (I believe the murder was in Atlanta area, and kid then fled to his hometown of Cleveland, where US Marshals arrested him...). So, that kid sat in the interrogation room with the older detective who told the kid to 'man up', and the kid said he (the kid) was just at a party and all of a sudden he really needed to get hold of a big pile of money, so the kid went down the street, with a sawed off rifle, robbed & killed a little convenience store clerk who was closing up shop and counting out the register (that poor clerk was a young man from India - so very sad - the kid shot him at 1st ((there's video)), takes the cash register money, and then SHOOTS the poor clerk AGAIN as he's leaving !!... What insanity! What insane thinking/thought processes! What selfishness !

There is no way the bank manager made any concessions, affluent or not.
IMO This was a regular weekly occurance and did not set off red flags.

I think so too and if it was a weekly occurrence, how many were aware of it?

Regarding the $40,000 withdrawal, all my opinion, etc.

The bank obviously wants to do business with people who have as much money as Mr. S.

For somebody who probably paid cash for all of those vehicles, I'm sure $40K wasn't that big of a deal for the bank manager to approve for immediate withdrawal. The amount of money going through Mr. S's hands via that bank on a regular basis would probably be akin to us withdrawing $500 here and there, but for him it was more like $10,000 here and there.

I know the currency transaction report would still apply, but it's just not that unusual for a wealthy person to need access to large amounts of liquid assets.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_transaction_report

Edit: I might as well add that I don't think the motive was entirely about money. I think power, control, general hatred for the rich, etc., all played a roll in this. You don't torture a kid when 99.9999% of people will cave under personal torture and threats anyway. This was about power and emasculating Mr. S as much as possible. I'm guessing the case will involve worse details if they are ever released to the media.

Whatever a family has, unless it's "new money"...it is just normal to them. People like the SS family are surrounded by sycophants and they become blind to the envy and anger beneath. It doesn't matter how long someone works for you or if they watched your children grow up. They may seem to truly be "friends" not employees. But they may be seething underneath.

My husband had an executive assistant, a "confidential secretary." Under her were 4 other secretaries. At Christmas and her Birthday, it was our custom to give "Mary" expensive gifts. The other secretaries got nice gifts on those days too...but not as expensive as hers. We took them all out to lunch at our Club for secretaries day.

When she was sick once, I brought homemade soup to her house. On little holidays like Valentines Day, Halloween, Easter...I picked up small gifts for Mary and the others. Hand lotion, candy...just a remembrance. My husband would put these on the desks in pretty bags before the workday started. I thought we had a mutual fondness for each other.

One summer my daughter worked at the company. I had sent in Fourth Of July bags with candy and cookies to go home for the weekend. As my daughter approached the break room, my daughter heard Mary mocking my "cheap" gift. It was not one statement but a cascade of bitterness and envy.

I was heartbroken. But we were all wiser. Soon, my husband discovered other transgressions...serious ones. She was fired and left quietly because she was nailed.

We are all the product of our experiences. I will always remember how this woman fawned over me and my family. But behind our backs, she despised us.

So I will wait and see if there is any betrayal in this case. But I won't assume that an outer show of human affection is necessarily real....when envy and jealously may be festering behind the mask.

THIS^^^^^^^
is exactly what I have been skirting around.
Think of VF, taking a bus and probably having to transfer one or more times if she lives in MD or VA. She makes this trek day in and day out and her husband picks her up from the bus. She can't afford a car or makes a choice to deny herself that luxury in order to send money back home so her children, in El Salvador, can go to school and have a better life. She probably cleans items that cost more than she'll make in a year. (Think Silver serving dishes and utensils, Persian rugs, Northface coats, Jackets & t-*advertiser censored*, expensive clothes and sporting gear and little crystal, silver, tiffany and ceramic knickknacks.) If she cooked and prepared meals, she likely did so on cookware that cost as much or more than she makes in one day and she likely prepared expensive meats and healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, that at times in her life she may have had to go without...having to choose to buy toilet paper, personal hygiene articles and milk, eggs, boxed and canned foods and bread instead of eating healthy meals. She probably enjoyed getting to partake in her allotted portion of the meals and appreciated the $100 or so tips at Christmas. She probably was thankful to work for a nice client.

The murder of VF, is especially heart breaking because she is at the bottom of the totem poll under even NG. She seems to have been a good women and there is absolutely no way she could have seen this horror coming. Or maybe she was picking up on something and really just wanted to retire and to go home to El Salvador and live a more quiet life. We'll never know...

Then, think of the $7.00 an hour grass cutter who watches the family add on to their already bigger and nicer than necessary $4.5M home and drive away in a car that costs 10x more than his annual salary. And, that is only one of the five cars that he sees there, weekly. He sees the grave disparity, while he sweats through the heat of DC summers and while being bitten by West Nile mosquitoes. And is likely still thankful when someone offers him a bottled water or gives him a $25 tip in December...if he is even still there in DC or his boss decides to split the tip. The staff knows which clients are kind and respectful and most of the time they either ignore the differences or they have learned to be complacent. But in the back of their minds they know that they work and sweat just as hard, if not harder than their employer. They know that they will never even be able to buy one $300 pair of shoes no less a small rambler in their lifetime. They see the Northface, the HH, the Nike, the Apple, the Mercedes, the private school uniforms, the garish parties and expensive rental equipment and extra staff hired for their employer's friends and family. They see all of this and the disparity in their own families and communities and yet they are still thankful to work for a "nice" family. BUT, underneath it all, no matter how much the family includes them and "treats them or considers them as part of an extended family," the staff knows that this is only temporary. They know that they are at the mercy of their employer who could one day say, "oh by the way so and so, were moving to Florida, Colorado, Puerto Rico, wherever and we really appreciate everything you've done for us for the past 10 or 20 years. We want to pay you a little extra and we'll keep our ear out for any of our friends who might be looking for someone like you. We'll definitely pass your name around. Believe me the staff always knows their place. If there is a loud talker, like NG and she talks to the wrong people or God forbid there is a mean spirited or conniving staffer who has been seething or becoming increasingly covetous over the disparity of wealth then that employer can become a target.

We don't know if this happened with any of the S staff but it is a possibility that someone who came and went from that home leaked important and private details that put VF and the entire S family at risk.

Had a thought last night as to the pizzas. When I have ordered through Dominoes, they have me on file and ask me first off if I want to order the same thing I did before. Perhaps that is what occurred. Perhaps that is why one pepperoni, and cheese pizza that many of us were thinking that only children eat.

Nothing major, just was jumping in since threads are slow.

Accused D.C. killer Daron Wint used hostage money for $1,000 cab ride to flee NYPD manhunt in Brooklyn: sources

...Wint allegedly used the illicit bankroll to cover the tolls and provide a nice tip to the cabbie who kept him one step ahead of the law enforcement pursuit...

Just a few thoughts:

I would expect the SS family would have access to more than one account and probably more than one bank. There would be the household account and probably more than one business account. After all there were what, 5 businesses? Likely the EA would have access to all of them. Thus what he took from each account would be relatively low.

I can also see SS having the bank owners home number. So he could have called him early that AM before the bank opened. Owner/general manager then probably called someone to go to the bank early.

Later calls were probly him still trying to raise more money.

Agree with this, that it was a regular occurrence. Stuff that makes me go hmmm.

I think so too and if it was a weekly occurrence, how many were aware of it?

What does one do with that much money every week? Makes no sense. But does make me go hmmm.

No one said anything about taking out money every week.
It's not in a the police report. In fact it's obvious this was not a regular occurrence.

Question and maybe this has already been answered, but:

If Wint is the individual fleeing from the burning Porsche in MD, then where is the $40K that he stole? I am not sure $40K in cash would fit into a bucket (The bank withdrawals were all cash, right (that was later coverted to MOs)? In what denominations?). So imo, he had to have accomplices that took $40K somewhere else. Or may be I am missing something, does anyone know how the $40K was moved after crimes or if Wint hall all the money in his possession after allegedly fleeing from burning Porsche in MD? Jmo+tia/

It's not in a the police report. In fact it's obvious this was not a regular occurrence.

I don't personally think this was a weekly occurrence but it is not obvious to me that it was something that had never happened before and I have found useful the information about banking practices that discussion about this possibility has brought forth.
