Thoughts are with Dr Teresa's Mom, as she came face to face, in the court room, with Mark Sievers in shackles. Thoughts also with Mark's Mom, seeing her son, if she is there.

I don't think BS would do that. She loved TS and her small gesture that might not mean a lot to others re her buying more carrots showed that she did care about her daughter in law. Family law will allow both families to see the kids. DCF motioned no contact is standard. They withdrew it because MS lawyer objected and they need to see where the future investigation leads. The no contact can change , and I'm sure it will

I agree with you about BS. In my opinion, she is one of Mark's victims too. My gosh, he actually called her to go "check on Teresa." His own elder mother. He is an evil .

Don't know if I missed seeing this particular link posted, and it is a little after the fact; however, there is a beautiful picture of the girls and their aunt. Don't know when the picture was taken but it looks recent.

What a beautiful picture! I know the girls are young but even at 11 years old, I hope the judge would take into consideration where they might say they would be most comfortable too.

Kids will stay with a non-family member caregiver in Naples for now until a final decision is reached March 21st. MS's brother also has expressed his interest in taking care of the girls.

Ppl need to remember that Social Services jobs are not 9-5, M-F positions. Alot of behind the scenes probably happened this weekend. Phone and in person interviews happened. They have a checklist of procedures that need to be followed. I'm guessing in a few mths things will change re placement. It could be sooner.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Hopefully, the caregivers will supervise whether DCF deems it necessary or not.

Please do not name the family currently caring for the girls. Or attempt to guess who they are or aren't. In order to respect the girls and the fact that their lives, once more, have been flipped upside down, lets ease their transition by not naming their caregivers here.

It sounds as if the judge was thinking there might be eventual changes to this arrangement, requesting several times that DCFS investigate all options with family members who have expressed interest in caring for the girls.

This leads me to believe there may be future hearings and that the decision today is to go with the status quo until more can be done towards permanency. Most importantly I hope the girls feel safe and secure and are being helped to process their dad's arrest. What a rough week following a tough year they've had.

Can someone provide a link to info on MS brother?

'Court officials discussed a number of permanent placement options, including maternal relatives who are planning to relocate to the area from Connecticut and a paternal grandparent currently in the region.
A maternal grandmother is planning to request custody, DCF officials said. A paternal grandparent was part of the arrangements originally made by Sievers, but that person would require further investigation before determining if she would be a good fit, DCF officials said.'

I think back to the Simpson children, they were in a similiar situation, but dad had money, and was out on bond. I worry that if MS gets bond and gets the girls back, the girls could be in harms way. From reports, MS did try to run, he might try to leave the country. That happened in cases before...spouse kills spouse and then to make family suffer, as the law is getting to close to the killer spouse, kills the children in revenge....tons of cases can be googled. I just worry for those girls until this trial is all over. IMO, MS is very evil. Maybe CWW gave enough info to keep the girls away from MS.

IIRC the Brown family retained temp custody of the children until the verdict.

BBM

Nin, did you mean TS's brother or MS's brother? I hope you meant the former. :)

I really hope the community where the girls are staying will be kind and supportive during their transition to public school. In any normal situation, that would be pretty hard by itself.

Are the children temporarily placed with LS?
