Hollye, with all due respect, you are wrong. Hailey's remains were found near the edge of Lake JB Thomas.

The Google map in your sig is in error. Those remains found last year in Big Spring were identified as belonging to an older man. They were not Hailey's.

ABILENE. Texas -

Through a Freedom of Information request with the Scurry County Sheriff's Office, KTXS was able to track down the man who discovered human remains almost a month ago near Lake JB Thomas

Remains discovered in Scurry County identified as missing...

The man's name is Curtis Lloyd.

He told us he is the one who called the sheriff's office after he found the remains.

"I was just walking the lake bed or along the edge of the lake bed and noticed something that looked a little unusual as I walked over to it I recognized it to be human remains, specifically a skull... all of the upper skull was intact. There was, of course, no lower jaw," said Lloyd.

Lloyd was walking along the dried-up lake bed of Lake JB Thomas.

With all due respect, Cherokee, my map is accurate. I am aware that the remains found in Sweetwater were identified as being male. I have the location of Hailey's remains marked on my map with a cross. They were mapped based on aerial footage when LE was recovering them and, I believe are fairly accurate.

I had not seen that article with the interview of the gentleman who found her remains, though I have seen others. I do, however, stand by my recollection that, at the time, LE was quite clear that they were not found due to the recession of the lake. I see, based on that interview, that it may be inaccurate. I have no photos of Lake JB Thomas from December 2010 to compare the current status of the lake to.

Rest in Peace Hailey!

With all due respect, Hollye, do you live in the area of west Texas where Hailey was found? Some of us have seen the area in person.

When I clicked on the link you had for Hailey, it showed the location of the remains in Big Spring. At first, I didn't realize I had to zoom out the map to get Hailey's location, so it was confusing to me to see the big red X on the Google map. I thought that's where you meant Hailey was found. Now I know differently. I'm big enough to say when I'm wrong, but you might want to re-center your map if you are referring to Hailey remains.

You may stand by your recollection, but you were rude to jump in and tell me I was wrong when I had the words of the man who found Hailey to back up what I wrote. Lake JB Thomas may not NOW be near where the man found Hailey's remains, but it used to be, and it's obvious she was dumped into the lake to hide her body. Why would they dump it on a dried-up lake bed when the lake was right there? In addition, the three-year drought we've had has dried up lakes all over the area, reducing them to the size of ponds.

I don't know why LE might have said otherwise at the time, unless they were being literal in saying the remains were not in or near the lake. Well, they aren't NOW, but they sure were back in 2010.

Lloyd was walking in the "dried-up lake bed" looking for fossils. He wouldn't have been looking along side a dirt road for fossils.

Now, can we start over? :) We're on the same side here, wanting justice for Hailey.

My heart goes out to Clint. Not the outcome any of us wanted but at least Hailey can be buried and laid to rest now.

RIP Hailey, I am so sorry you did not get to live out your life.
Now let's get to the arrest and conviction for the person(s) responsible for your murder. I pray there is enough evidence to hang the SOB(s)!

I certainly hope that Billie Dunn has a travel companion to help, drive, escort, or accompany her on her trip from Austin. She doesn't need to be driving alone after receiving this news, I would hate for her to be so upset that she makes a wrong turn. Surely she isn't driving herself.

I've not seen or heard the reports yet; I am guessing they did not release cause or manner or death? Do they even know

Kirby is there a link to watch it live?If not will you post what is said? tia

i dont think you can watch it online, but you can read at KTXS.com. Nothing new was said on 6:00 news. the furry thing i said was a dog was a reporter's head. Connie was sitting in the back of a van. I got the impression she was at the press release. I pray she didnt go alone.

Rest In Peace lovely child. I think I'm in shock, even though I thought the remains were hers. So heartbroken, but thankful she can now have a decent burial. The thought of these beautiful children thrown out like trash and left in the elements drives me insane.

I hope our hero that found her gets the reward.

I can only hope the monster who did this is terrified. I can only hope LE has the evidence to make their worst nightmares reality. SWIFTLY PLEASE!

My heart goes out to all of you who have followed this case. It really tests our heart strings when it ends like this. ((hugs))

Well she's posting on her Facebook now via mobile so I too hope she has someone driving her.

First time visiting this forum - hello everyone :seeya:.

I have been following Hailey's case, and praying for her to be found ever since this story first broke.

I wonder if there will be any arrests now that Hailey's remains have been found. I believe LE have always considered Shawn Adkins their prime suspect, and Billie Jean's behavior and statements after Hailey's disappearance have also been suspect. I believe she knows more than she has ever come forward with.

I hope there will be justice for Hailey. What a sad day for those who loved her and held out hope for her safe return.

I was holding my breath, unable to let myself think it was truly her. After all these red herrings.

Rest in Peace, Hailey. Now it's time for justice.

RIP Hailey. Although I felt that by the time the world heard about you, you were already gone, it is still terrible to know now for sure that you lost your precious life and were left unfound for so long. I bet you would have done some wonderful things. Grown up, had an interesting job, been someone's partner and a good mum to your kids, a good friend, a loving member of your extended family, gone places. So sorry that was stolen from you but I know you are at peace xx

BBM, not to distract from the gravity of the situation, but that made me :).

As always, I am worried that cause of let, let alone manner, will be provable at this point. Thinking in terms of a defense attorney, that is.
