Defense finds something new in old evidence?

Thanks for this thread :)

I haven't had a chance to see all the ideas have other posted here and I apologize if it has already been mentioned but, if the defense took samples or spent any unusual amount of time on any particular item, the SA will see that from the videos and from in-person observers. I would think that they would take a second look at any of such items.

That is what I am hoping for. Defense gets all excited and sticks it in LE and SA's face. Without blinking, they mop the floor with them saying they saw the tapes, have known about that for two years now, gives them the report, yawns, and then says "Next!" with a big smile. Defense throws a fit, then stalks away crying. The end. Lol.

According to WFTV, Jose Baez is saying the defense experts found something new in the evidence they are looking at. Hmmm. Here's a snip from the article:

The defense claims they've made some discoveries.

“There's things you see that you can't see in pictures, that you can’t see in pictures that you see in person,” Baez said.

The defense won't tell WFTV what they've found that they didn't know before or the extent of their discoveries. They do not want WFTV to know exactly what they're looking at, even though the sheriff's office is videotaping and that tape will eventually be released.

How it can be possible for them find something new after all of this time, especially with the questionable Dr. Lee there? I'm thinking Baez is just saying that to make it look like they've found something. I don't think there's any way that all of a sudden new evidence can show up on the same evidence LE has already scoured.

What do you guys think? And what possibly could they have found?

Oh how I detest that man...said nicely! If they found something new it seems to me he would be smart to just keep his mouth shut and do the work that he is supposed to be doing. Of course he has to get his smirky mug in front of a camera. I highly doubt that they found anything new unless Dr. Lee slipped something in instead of taking something away. Wouldn't supprise me in the least either!

Maybe they found the identifying DNA markers for Caylee's biological father. Nah... they wouldn't get excited about that unless they were going to try to pin Caylee's murder on him.

Maybe they found something of GA's that he seems to be missing..

Just thinking,

Any scientist who examined the evidence today could never possibly announce any new finding on a molecular or DNA level on the same day of examination.

If you had told me this 14-21 days after the viewing, I would actually (slightly even) believe it...but this quickly can only mean they have ideas of different scenerios but no real proof.

Ultimately, I think they have found ideas to propose to inject reasonable doubt...THAT IS IT!!!

Of course, we know they are hanging their hats on one jurer and reasonable doubt. They figure the odd are with them there after having read all of the jailhouse letters.

JMHO

Maybe thet went in with a bus full of gas that we have speculated was heading at George and or Cindy?? { or "gas can" full of prints that focus on the duct tape that match prints possibly found on Caylee's duct tape}

At any rate, given the letters and accusations of molestation, I think their new evidence will rain down on Hopespring Drive and that nice Mr and or Mrs Anthony...

And, of course, the defense filed a motion to seal on this stunning new evidence that HHJP will have to rule on tomorrow. Maybe the defense is trying to distract the media away from the TES rulings and Cindy's testimony by getting the judge to ok at least one of the defense motions. :)

I hope LBD brings up the statement about new discovery tomorrow!

Where did JB say the words, "I/we found something new?"
All I heard him say was things looked different from photographs when you see them in person.

LOL, does Baez take everyone for fools? If there were really something significant, he'd be all too happy to stand in front of the blinking lights of camera flashes and tell exactly what this epic discovery is. Then he'd end the presser with a reminder that he's Spanish. And Famous. A famous Spanish lawyer.

OMG........if you go to the WKMG site http://www.clickorlando.com/news/24254676/detail.html

Look at the photo that goes along with the story headline...

This is not the picture in the actual article.......but what is on their front page. One could say that is may have been selected because the photo looks like KC holding her nose. Or maybe it's just me that saw the irony.

When the videotape is released, we'll all be replaying over and over again the second the trunk is opened to see if anyone in the room reacts to the smell. Then debating the meaning of any reaction (terrible smell remains? SAs faking it for the camera?) or lack thereof (no smell any more? Defense team used Vicks prior to entering room to ensure no reaction on tape?)

She could also remind Baez that while they're at it we're still all waiting for that evidence they found that proved Casey was incarcerated when the body was dumped. They were supposed to reveal that in February I believe.....
Seriously, does anyone believe a word that Baez utters?

This video: http://www.wftv.com/video/24257896/index.html

snipped from http://www.wftv.com/news/24253362/detail.html:

Jose Baez told WFTV he and his team saw some things in their first-hand examination of the evidence that will probably lead them to request doing some testing of their own.

“How many tests would you say that you are going to ask for based on what you've seen so far?” WFTV reporter Kathi Belich asked Baez.

“I don't know. I'm not the experts. They tell me what they think, we take it from there and I make the decisions,” he replied.

Not I, and on and unrelated note, I can only imagine how his word salads will play to the jury.

Just another thought,

Perhaps Casey told JB where to look at some sort of evidence that she had previously planted to entrap Jesse. They might have been looking for something very specific that Casey told them!!!

Reaction from Bill Sheaffer -http://www.wftv.com/video/24258987/index.html

They found evidence of a squirrel named Zanny!
How's this?:

Theoretically this is ALL new evidence to them, after 2 years they are just looking at it with experts that aren't even listed on the defense witness list!

Crazy question, but since some of the experts in question are not yet on the defense witness list, yet they have been publicly shown the evidence for examination, and since it is the state that will end up paying them anyway... can the state call them as witnesses or hire them as expert witnesses if the defense chooses not to use them?
