Agree. It does seem these type of killers often have a manifesto. Somewhere. He would likely know how quiet the University was during summer months. It would be discovered "after". I wonder if it contained any comments etc. for us to "understand" him? Or simply all part of his game. He certainly is very complex :moo:

One is crying for help.
the other is crying for visibility.

I do not have the answer but you are asking him to be rational.

Nobody is diagnosing him, we are talking, sharing ideas, its a discussion forum, I wish people would stop accusing others of trying to diagnose JH and make excuses for him, that is not what is happening here.

I do not hold Mom accountable for his behavior in any way. Not even talking about the crime. If he displayed some different behavior often bright kids do. He didn't live under her roof and from accounts there was not a ton of contact. She was in no way privy to anything (I hope) unless he was confessing evil thoughts. She was a Nurse and his Mother. She had an Emotional connect. The worst to be objective unless he confessed a direct threat.

I am not sure there is much for you to read about him being MI.

I think the only statement printed was that his Mom asked him to
see a therapist.
That would not be evidence as we know it.
BUT MOMS DO KNOW long before the Doctors do.

Most people are laymen Nothing wrong with that.
Some want to see an act... I see disassociation.
Some want to see monster I see Evil & MI
But I cant diagnose -no body can on internet and TV.

Just noticed the above about his AFF membership, that "Gold" level membership has nothing to do with usage or how long he was a member, it just means he bought the higher end subscription package. It does imply the account is not a hoax though, not sure why someone would create a hoax account and the dish out the $$$ for the gold membership package.

I've never been a fan of batman movies, so what does a Joker do? As I understand it, Joker commits a crime, gets away with it, commits another crime. This might be a part of a "game." By giving someone a clue, it might make it more exciting. Would somebody solve the clue in time or not? Takes it to another level.

I would be the first to jump on board with a psychological discussion if I knew more about him. Unfortunately, the only thing I have seen is conflicting reports about his interpersonal relationships with people in the last year, his educational history, and one speeding ticket. I saw his mugshot and saw his short courtroom appearance. Other than that, I have no information that would let me begin to throw out ideas.

JH could have always said those were just comics. I am not sure drawings would even constitute direct threat ahead of time. In retrospect it's clear. But would it even be enough to put him on mental hold? And they would still let him go after however many hours, probably.

That is understandable from someone in your profession, as an attorney I try not to throw out too many ideas wrt to a defense for him since I dont have all the facts, but as someone just watching all this unfold, there are certain things I see that make me think it may be this or that psychologically speaking and I just throw them out there to share.

I do not in any way, shape or form believe I have any more answers than anyone else here because I do not.

A worthy point. You have to pretty much directly threaten to kill someone or yourself (or do serious bodily injury) for them to put you in a 72 hour hold, it isnt as easy as some have suggested, with the bad grades all the sudden the dyed hair etc, the cops would probably think the caller is more nuts than JH.

Ill check the exact wording of the gag order but when I read it it seemed to imply no leaks from LE. The problem is leaking stuff like from the jail only serves to prejudice and inflame a potential jury pool and I want a fair trial and leaks like that make a fair trail very hard, makes it harder to seat a jury.

The judge is trying as hard as he can to keep a potential jury pool from being tainted by leaks from people who dont have all the facts.

Oh I read that but the info that Fox is reporting wasn't reported in the articles about the suspicious packages.

And wouldn't it seem likely that after the massacre the school went through it's backlogged mail to see if there was anything from him or packages potentially dangerous?

I know it was reported that media outlets mail was being checked for items from the monster as there was a thought he might have sent something similar to the Virginia Tech monster

I believe he could have sent items like Cho the Va Tech shooter, I remember seeing his hair and thinking it is the colors of Va Tech, often at games and even once in a rally against wbc a couple guys had the same similar hair color (Tech Students). The Joker had green hair I thought. I also read yesterday when Holmes was arrested he told police he had explosives at his home, the police went and looked through the window and seen the trap, I'm not sure if that article was legit though. Cho also participated in a shooting range, he sent video, pictures and writings.

I am a poker player and sports bettor and I would bet the house that he is not going to get off, or win an insanity defense, but it is worth discussion nonethless until we have more to go on. Otherwise what is the point of being here, should we all just post over and over "he is a dirty evil SOB and a monster."

If it spelled out a killing plan then IMHO it would be a threat.and should be given to authority’s.
