Did Jurors Talk About Case during Trial Against Judge's Orders?

Absolutely yes they talked about it probably from the get-go!

Yesterday morning they all turned up wearing suits and nice clothes which tells me they were prepared for a verdict

So that means they had decided the day before in less than 6 hours. I hope at least ONE of the jurors talks eventually because I want to know who planted the seed of innocence in the first place! There is something not right about this. They didnt even have the backbone to talk about their decisions ..IMO they KNOW deep inside that they are very very wrong! Shame on them... I wonder how they would have voted if it had been their child that was murdered...would the evidence have been enough for them then?

The defense team objected to the SA striking the witness who said she "could not judge" was based on racial bias. Based on that objection JP had no choice but to accept her for the jury because of appellate issues. I do not think this juror alone swayed this whole jury in any way. Apparently for a juror coming forward all 17 jurors felt the same from the opening statements. Even though they were instructed not to judge by what was said in opening statements and only on the facts of evidence. They bought the accidential drowning that went wrong and would not be swayed regardless of what evidence was presented.

This jury clearly wants no part of the media and that indicates it may have influenced their decision. jmo

IMO, you will see some of these jurors in the news. They just won't do it for free.

I had concern when the Velveeta wrapper was passed around. HHJP ruled that Ashton couldn't have jurors smell the can with trunk carpet remnant (to smell the decomp) because it would turn the jurors into witnesses. Then why, oh why, did he allow them to smell the cheese wrapper?

Maybe since they didn't have the real smell from the trunk carpet to compare this to, they thought it might be the smell everyone was calling the decomp? I don't know, but I sure feel this was not on the up and up. :twocents:

I think they probably did. But, I think part of the cause was that they were shipped in from another location. this gave them and "automatic" bond. they bonded immediately because of it. And they probably all wanted to "go home".

it's the only explanation for there not being a single hold out. Most everyone I know thought she was guilty, why wouldn't at least one of them?

Maybe they did think she was in the trunk. BUT she could be dead in the trunk whether she was murder or it was an accident, right?

I have always believed that some if not most of the jurors knew way more about this case before they were picked. I mean did these 12 people live in a cave? I think not. I can not believe for one nano second that all 12 went into that room and there was not one holdout.

They were also instructed by the Judge not to talk about anything related to the trial and yet they apparently did a whole lot of discussion with each other, from the opening statements on. imo

From the comments made by the alternate juror it's pretty clear that they had discussed the case amongst themselves.

I however do not believe that a lack of education caused this jury to vote the way they did, education and degrees do not equal automatic intelligence.

I believe several factors allowed them to reach this decision, such as sequestration allowing felons on the jury that would have a bias towards LE and jurors that did not like to judge others or were under some time constraint.

I feel that HHJP bears some blame for allowing JB to much leeway in hopes of preventing a mistrial and allowing in to much to prevent appeals.

HHJP always treated JB with respect in court even when he knew that JB was not playing fairly, compare this is in contrast to how HHJP treated JA who he openly admonished in court, telling him to sit down or calm down, I'm sure the jurors caught these exchanges and thought to themselves that the SA was doing something wrong or hiding something.

ok color me insane but who picked Pinellas County? is there any way that funny business was going on with jury selection? CM's slick grin yesterday morning made me nervous then his obscene gesture to the press makes me question this even more.

I don't know but I know something is not right and I think the State of Florida owes it to Caylee to find out if there was funny business with this jury and if there was prosecute every last one involved to the fullest extent of the law also charge CA with perjury and JB with subornation of perjury just make examples of them GA I hope you get out of there and away from your psychopathic daughter and sociopathic wife you at least tried to tell the jurors the truth

omgosh driving home late last night and thinking about what the alternate said it hit me as well.... he said WE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no doubt they discussed this!
Not only that, i can't explain why (or remember what he said) but something made me think he sounded a little defensive like he knew their verdict wouldn't be popular and he was making excuses as to why he agreed with it. How would he know their verdict wouldn't be popular? I thought they knew nothing about what was going on and for all they knew, we could have all been screaming she is innocent? Im probably wrong but thats the impression I got.

Anyway, Im so disgusted by this whole process! Caylee deserved so much more than 10 hours of lets hurry up and get out of here! I cannot believe one person wouldn't have said "WAIT A MINUTE, WHY WOULD SOMEONE TRY TO MAKE A "HORRIBLE" ACCIDENT LOOK LIKE A MURDER? LETS REVIEW THIS A LOT MORE!"

I know this wont be popular, and may get me banned, but I hold the jury in the little place in my head that holds all the hate I have for the DT now and if my husband were on that jury I probably would have locked him out of the house last night, lol!

You have to wonder if some sort of tampering was going on. I know for a fact that one of the jurors (female) felt she was guilty.

I think people thought JP was great because he seemed jovial, nice, accommodating, like a big cuddly teddy bear. And that made people 'feel' good.

But that's not the most important thing for a judge. A judge HAS to be tough, a judge MUST ensure justice. Speeding a trial through just to get it done is not justice. Allowing people on the jury who do not believe in the DP on a death penalty case makes no logical sense.

Justice was thwarted and unfortunately it started with the judge.

Nope, I was not impressed with this particular judge. He handicapped the state from the get-go. 'The People' (who the state represents) did not get a fair trial, IMHO.

I voted yes and have thought it almost defies any concept of human nature to expect them not to in this situation, especially.
Sad to say, some of your posts have had me rethinking my opinion of JP. I really trusted his judgment, his wisdom, his guidance in the "search for truth" . (which he mentioned).........
I feel like I did on the day Caylee's BONES were found, almost like she has been destroyed again.

Mine too with his belongings strewn across the lawn but seriously this is the biggest travesty of justice I have witnessed How the heck this jury came to that conclusion I will never understand. OJ was different he was a star and I think that and race played into that jury's decision. (even though I was mad about it) I somewhat understood it. But for the life of me I can't comprehend THIS verdict

When the trial was going on, I reassured myself that Casey wouldn't be the "new OJ" because OJ had factors like his dream team of lawyers, his celebrity status, race, and the Rodney King issue, working in his favor. Casey didn't have any of that! That's why I feel this verdict is more shocking than OJ. I also think there is something fishy going on with it. The jurors will start do make the TV rounds soon, and one of them will let it slip if something was going on, since Juror #14 has already made us suspicious.
