DB gave us all those comforting details about the night she put Lisa to bed with her binkie, blankie, whatever. I was quite impressed with her good mothering skills. Now, the hours for the crucial timeline have been changed, plus DB can't really remember when she put Lisa to bed or saw her last. Admitting she was drunk means she can remain vague. I feel she has lied, at the very least, but it's serious because Baby Lisa is still missing.

I'm still on the fence, but the sun isn't out and I feel silly up here.

I don't know if it's just me but admitting to being so drunk you can't remember when you saw your child last or where you child is should be considered child endangerment or child neglect, I think the other children should be removed from her care and she should be arrested for some kind of child abuse.

How do we know Lisa was really sick?

Great question ....I haven't found a link that quotes the mom but I did find this link. The last paragraph gives a description of Lisa..I'll keep looking for a quote...:waitasec:

I removed my link..I've found two news source sites that report Lisa had a cough and cold but I can't find an actual quote from DB or JI.
My eyes are starting to cross..maybe someone has a link to an actual quote?

She doesn't have any chronic diseases. Supposedly she had a cold.

I'm glad she remembered that. I know when my kids were sick I would bring them in the room with me and monitor them every second. When they're little like that they can get a high fever very fast.

Legal-You should go up to the media links thread and see the interviews from Monday where she admits she was drunk-especially the Fox one with Meg Kelly. It'll blow ya away!!:banghead:
She says she expects to be arrested!!

Hi essies, thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

CM..Do you remember where this information was? Maybe you can find us a link...:seeya:

Does anyone think that DB will 'crack?' And by crack, I mean confess. I don't think she's as tough a nut as Casey. I'm beginning to think she'll break.

I don't think she will break at all. In the beginning of this case I thought there was an accident with the baby. Then she said she was drunk, and her attitude changed from the grieving mom into a defiant, "so what" type of thing...at that point, I began to realize she might be capable of going into a rage and really hurting that child. MOO

I think she has real, deep issues. JMOO.

I think she is capable of far more then an accidental death, at this point. Sorry to say it, but the change in her attitude is shocking for someone who just lost her child. MOO

Nope. I think Casey was an idiot who got lucky. DB strikes me as someone who believes she is the craftiest person in town. Casey always struck me as someone who always lies, always, even when the truth would do, and who fully expected to get caught every single time eventually.

I definitely thought at first if she were guilty it wouldn't take long for her to confess. (or if she knew something to come clean with it)

But conscience is a funny thing. If you ignore it long enough, it eventually fades away. She seems to be becoming more like Terri, Billie and Casey every day.

Didn't she admit to following missing children cases? How the mom is always suspect and she'll never feel that way again? I wonder if she followed cases online? Like, here? Creepy thought.

“I thought it was part of the investigation,” she answered. “They’re always going to look at the closest family … I see it on TV. I figured, they’re gonna do it and then they’ll be done with it.”

I believe her attitude changed when the lawyer came into the picture. This guy was involved with some shady clients...thats putting it mildly! It's hard to say whether she was actually drunk or could be the lawyer is using this for future defense or both. Regardless it's important we find out if Lisa WAS sick. A cough and cold at this point could be whooping cough, pneumonia. My grandson had an illness shortly after he was born but I can't remember the name of it...he was in the hospital, coughing and gasping for breath..scared the beegeexous out of me! At this point we don't know WHAT the mom has lied about. To pass over any statements made by her, if she in fact actually said Lisa had a cold and cough, might come back to bite us.
If mom left Lisa in her crib alone while being so ill, this would be neglect in my book!
I am still looking for a link to mom saying Lisa was sick...

Things that bother me

The dogs didn't bark and no one heard a baby cry.

The mom says she put a sick child to bed at 6:40 and never checked on her again. I have a thing as a mom that if it's too quiet it means something is wrong. The baby should have been expected to wake up at some point.

The boys not being interviewed by the MOTHER and FATHER? I can see not going to the police with them, but their daughter is missing and they don't want to "further traumatize the boys" so this seems to suggest they know for sure that Lisa is not alive.

The mother drinking until potentially blacking out on a night when she knew her husband wouldn't be home until very late the next day.

The idea that someone just walked in off the street and blatantly stole a baby is just too weird to be believed. Of course it could have happened but then why all the lights on?

The window screen being seen by hubby, why even think about how the person got in if DB says she didn't know if she locked the door and the door was unlocked.

I don't see why someone coming home after the first night of working a late shift would be noticing something like that.

Notice in most recent interview when mom says she was drunk..

When a person is making things up their eyes move to the viewers left...
When remembering details their eyes move to the viewers right...

During this interview it was really obvious to me mom was looking to my left which could be a sign she lying.
Keep in mind if mom is left handed it will reverse the positions and a base line is required on a person to have a starting point to work off of...jmo
Speaking for myself, I think this is a load of bunk. I think it's pop-psychology that's been popularised in books and TV, but I've not seen any peer-reviewed study that supports it. Not one. As a matter of fact, everything I've read seems to debunk it. From my own studies the eyes have 3 zones, upper left or right is processing visually. When the eyes move to the lower zone, the person is processing feelings. When in the middle zone, the person is processing sound. And not everyone conforms to even that model. In other words, there's not a one size fits all. I often look to the left when answering a question, because I'm reconstructing. That's how I remember things, by reconstructing events.

The only real way to tell if someone is lying is if they tell you, or you catch them in a lie.

IMO

She seems to have gotten over the grieving process rather quickly.

Not wanting to go back to her house smells like a guilty conscience to me.

I don't see her cracking at all but I do see JI cracking and confessing to what he knows (if he knows stuff which imo he certainly does). That guy looked guilty and shifty from Day 1. He's a nervous kinda guy. :nerves:
