QUOTE=MissHaley;11690853]Don't know if this got posted yet- Dr. Lillian Glass on the killer & her mother's body language when addressing the judge.
https://drlillianglassbodylanguageb...l-as-she-sadistically-torments-travis-family/

From the article - "That statement says it all about who Jodi Arias is- a sadistic, mean, hateful creature with no remorse who’s comment was designed to torture the family who had hoped their brother died with no pain at the end. But Jodi made sure that they knew that he was in pain and was not unconscious.

She then paused for several seconds, took a deep breath where she raised her shoulders ( a body signal of deception) and went on to say ” He still tried to attack me.” Considering the physical shape Travis was in at the time, it is highly doubtful that he was trying to attack her at that moment. She then goes on to say, It was I who was trying to get away, not Travis.” She then says I never wanted it to be that way Judge…. ” She doesn’t say your honor or Judge Stevens. Instead she calls her judge which is another clear act of the passive aggressive defiance on Arias’ part."[/QUOTE]

Thank you so much for this article. I loved seeing the close ups of her face after the sentence was handed down. I said before that I believed that she really thought she would get parole. I'm glass Dr. Glass thought the same thing. I loved that she said prison will be hell for Jodi. I hope she suffers everyday for the rest of her miserable life.

Wow! In these photos Troy looks HUGE and Juan looks so little in comparison. But as Jodi found out, sometimes big things come in small packages.

ETA: Sorry if that came to the wrong way!

YAY! Can't wait to see it! Please post links when it's on!

What I don't understand was how they could bring social media into this? For Wilmott to sit there and say that if JA said this then she was wrong, or if she said whatever......WHAT DOES IT MATTER WHAT PEOPLE WERE SAYING ON SOCIAL MEDIA???? It isn't like people just started having opinions with the invention of Facebook, Twitter, etc..... To me, she was making the case out to being tried in the court of public opinion, and in today's day and time, there is just no way for people not to form their own opinions ESPECIALLY when the public has a right to the information.

And for JA to sit there and show that she had seen what was on Social Media.....that absolutely infuriates me. Her access to social media, period, made me furious.

:gaah:

Sorry, just had to vent that out!

But don't forget that JW made it very clear that j17 did not get on Facebook during the trial b/c she said she didn't and we have to believe her.

So are we supposed to believe that J17 was the ONLY person involved with this case that *WASN'T* influenced by social media?!

Hi Luvorosco,
My favorite part of this article "But she will often meet her match as there are many Jodi Aria’s types which will surround her and try their hand at manipulating her". YEP! And these "types" have already been in prison very a very long time. Just waiting for someone new!

We heard much about how JA led this stellar hard working life except for the two minutes. The defense wanted to burn this into the minds of anyone listening, especially the jury.

They tried to prove that it was not premeditated but Juan took her story apart piece by piece and proved that she did plan the whole thing. I personally believe that she started soon after he broke it off with her.. That means she had almost a year to plan, scheme and dream about the day she was going to silence him once and for all.

Yes, it only took two minutes to kill him three times over but then she went on for almost seven years trying to kill him again by killing everything he was.

She will not stop.

Yeah, it was funny yesterday that JW kept bring up 2nd degree. JSS was having none of that since a JURY decided it was 1st degree. That horse had left the barn a long time ago.

Still, if Jodi had STFU and lawyered up right away, there's a good chance it would have been 2nd degree or less. It's conceivable that she could have already been released by now.

As despicable as her behavior has been, what sweet karma it is that although she casts blame on others, the fault lies solely with her.

I hope that at some point Jodi realizes that she, and she alone is responsible for the miserable future she now faces, and kicks herself for it every day from here on in.

I wonder if she knows something we don't (like she did w/j17 and didn't say anything) that JA will be able to base her appeal on? Like maybe something that happend in the beginning when JA was questioned by the police...

Is there maybe something they should have done differently with a suspect that is mentally ill?

Why would anyone think this case should have been a 2nd degree murder case? If she had maybe JUST shot him, or JUST stabbed him, but to stab him, not once, but 29 times, and then to ALSO shoot him, and then to ALSO almost decapitate him, I would never think that to be 2nd degree because at any time she could have stopped, like after she stabbed him once, or after she shot him once. I would like to hear JW's opinion on why she thinks it should have been a 2nd degree case, but then again, I could hardly stand to listen to her during the trial and even yesterday post sentencing, so I would only like to read her opinion lol

I thought if there was predication, it couldn't be a 2nd degree charge

Yet, out the other side of her mouth she was saying the other jurors were using Facebook during the trial. She's as bad as her client, can never keep her lies straight.

She is cooked and done. None of her appeals will work. This Judge that everyone wanted to criticize has made it nearly impossible by making sure she had all her rights and then some.
She is now irrelevant. She is now getting smacked with reality. She is a full time prisoner. No more breaks for court, No more dressing up like the normal folk. She is now and forever in whatever the fashion of prison is. No more interviews no more smirks..
Be gone witch, Be gone.

Not that I agree with this, but as to 2nd degree, if -- from the start -- she had never said a thing without an attorney present, they could have argued heat of passion. Were it not for all her self-incriminating statements and lies, that could have worked. Had the prosecutor been someone less capable than Juan Martinez (and he usually only tries 1st degree cases), it's quite likely she could have pleaded the case out without any further police investigation, thus the proof of premeditation may never have come to light. Sad to say, but this kind of resolution happens all the time.

She basically screwed herself by her inability to just shut her trap.

Ha! Yah.... "2 minutes that ended 2 lives ". ... Sounds like a book title, maybe that's what JW was setting up for herself since she had to mention "2 minutes" a bazillion times!

I was thinking the same thing, then this morning I opened FB. And there it was, one of my friends since teen years opining on how there must have been some truth to her claims, else why did she escape the death penalty twice. He pointed to how over the top the crime was as evidence that something must have pushed her to it.

Something did push her to do it, but what your friend fails to understand is there was no legal mitigating reason determined. Jealousy and rage are not defensible mitigators for premeditated murder. Receiving a DP sentence is not easy and not receiving it does not invalidate the heinousness of the crime.

this is a great post! If you think about it, most murders do happen within minutes! So many things the DT states makes no sense!
Of course this was premeditated & the jury found so. I also agree she had thoughts of it when they broke up in 7/07! She wrote the journal entry, "cut off the source" in early 2007. Also, why would she make the move to Mesa after break up? It was all part of stalking & planning.

If it hadn't been for her courting the media, starting with the 20/20 and 48 Hours interviews, I doubt she'd have been even a blip on anyone's radar.

I think Sheriff Joe is to blame for allowing that to occur in his jail; he controls all access to and from media and he allowed it.

Yes

Dr. Horn offered his professional opinion when he said, "I believe the wounds to the hand must have occurred before the fatal injuries of either the head or of the throat; the throat injuries and/or the head wound are going to be immediately incapacitating and he's not going to attempt to defend himself after that."

Jodi, by her own admission, watched a lot of CSI-type shows. The kind where people get shot, but keep coming after you. If cable TV is where she got her forensic education, it's easy to see how she thought that argument would work.

I do think I remember hearing that, but the way she phrased it yesterday made it sound as if she had remembered in 2014, but lied.

IMO, she remembers every second of that day and always has.

The way JSS made her ruling so quickly made me think she had already made up her mind. Having everyone speak in open court (family, CMJA, JW, etc) was just a formality.

That's exactly what it was. It was pageantry and show. JSS knew exactly what she was going to sentence the killer to if the jury didn't vote for the DP. It was never a maybe for LWP.
