Well if Trisha can handle a drunk Ozzy, I guess everything else is a piece of cake.

Is it wrong that I pictured Jeff Ashton snickering...again? :innocent:

Casey Anthony is a sociopath or psychopath.

Dr. Keith has some Mommy/Daddy issues of his own.

Between the accusations/misrepresentations of George, the comments about keeping children from watching Chaz on dancing, and this Maria/Arnold thing --- I would say the Dr. needs some help. Fox News is his perfect home.

Great article Bianca, thanks! A couple of things I found interesting:

"Ablow doesn’t see much of his wife and kids these days. “I considered moving the family to New York,” he says. “But one, my wife is now a lawyer at her own firm in Charlestown, and she wasn’t excited about giving that up. Two, I felt this should be about me. I couldn’t picture my daughter having to leave her friends because I wanted a different job.” He talks to his kids twice a day, and sees them when he can. “But I get it,” he says. “I know it’s not the same. I’ll take full responsibility if they land in therapy. I’ll write a letter that says, ‘You have to understand. They had sort of a narcissistic father who just had to go to New York.’”
<snip>
"“There’s an explanation for every single thing that people do, and every way they feel,” he says. “I believe it like a general believes that he can take a hill.” In his personal life, that belief lets Ablow justify his own actions, gives him a sort of get-out-of-jail-free card for crimes of self-indulgence.

Can someone PULEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE do a shout out to Steely Dan! We need an EMU back here on the threads, and right here, and right now is appropriate.

We miss you Steely Dan!

I found out about this lovely dr.'s background on WS (fox news, Chaz, Arnold ) after I hit buy book on iBook .. Then I had to read cuz I didn't want to waste the 15 bucks .. Got thru part of it. Went back to reading Ashton's book, which is quite good.. The difference between these two gentlemen is that one has strong ethics and holds himself and the profession he practices at a near perfect standard. Some things Ablow says make sense if they weren't embellished to such a tabloid fodder degree they might seem plausible .. I also read that piece of crud book he wrote about Scott Peterson (I think I read all the books a couple times on that case) that one was way out there too.. Yes .. The man should stick to what he does best. FOX NEWS... Yikes!!!

Can anyone tell Dr. A that we read all that stuff too?
edited to say: I know it's already too late...I'm just venting.

BBM: Yes, some of the things make sense and may even be very accurate. However, anyone anywhere can do the same thing with this felon--speak their opinion about what is going on with her--and get some things right. It does not mean they know things for a fact, and this *doctor* has not personally met Casey so his opinion comes from observation and reading documents about the case and the family. Basically, no different than what we all have been doing...observing and forming opinions.

The disturbing thing about a dude like this writing a book or speaking publicly is that some citizens will take his word as gospel just because he uses "doctor" in his title. They will not consider that Casey was never his patient or that he has never even met her! They will not see that his dx is barely better than a guess.

My first thought was, "It's a good thing LG didn't sign in to listen!" :hot:

On second thought, she probably would have enjoyed a great LAUGH! lolol

Thank you Beach - I had a family anniversary commitment which I would have given up if I HAD REMEMBERED HE WAS ON!!!

Ack - just finished listening.... how is...grrr...:slap: I wish I could .... :slapfight: plus .... :bigfight: but I am sure you would :denied: so I'm going to try to :ignore: but we all know how that works for me....:furious:

Hmmmm perhaps he "should anticipate <his family's> needs" better. :floorlaugh:

Re BBM: Paralysis by analysis. Guess it can make for a lucrative career

...also, for those who (suffered through) listened to dr.A and all of his stmts. that george "was at the foot of the bed" and "viewing kc's vagi*** while she delivered...

...he is incorrect.

..george gave that recounting to ( the lucky ) FBI guys.

http://files.realitychatter.com/CA/Docs/George-Anthony-FBI-Interview-7878-8000.pdf
---george----FBI interview----

--page 18

--he was thrilled to learn about "the hamburger of life"

--he "was in the birthing room when my granddaughter came out".

( he does not say where in the room he was---or what exactly he "viewed." )

-----ellejay.

Thanks for finding this

As I understand it, reading page 18, George was talking about how they started to go to the doctor appointments with Casey and getting the sonogram/ultrasound and mentioned getting to see what they called the hamburger of the birth..
Does that mean they were looking at an ultrasound picture to see if the child would be a boy or girl? because that's how I interpret that statement..

I don't know where Ablow got his info but George only says "they were in the birthing room" when Caylee was born, he gave no other detail,

I am positive I saw George say on the stand or in an interview that CA and FCA insisted he be in the room when Caylee was born and he was "uncomfortable" being there and didn't want to - I got the distinct impression he was squeamish and thinking it was women's stuff, not at all that he was a the foot of the bed - quite the opposite. Wish I could remember where it was, or when I saw it.

I just read a part of Ablow's book ..in it he says George was so happy with the birth of Caylee he did not take an interest in who her father was etc.....

What is being forgotten or missed by Mr Ablow is that Casey had told Jesse and her parents that he, Jesse, was the father of her baby and until the paternity tests came back that proved otherwise, George and Cindy both thought Jesse was the father during that time in the delivery room.

The subtext of this has always bothered me - I "get" that no parent wants to think of their child in any other light but angelic... HOWEVER (and here we go over old ground) HOW does a parent take this and turn it into a vendetta against an innocent? She quite literally made her own bed. QED

And, IMO, not a very smart one since she did lead the cops to the end of the Universal Studios office hallway ;-)

Exactly. Casey Anthony is not all that smart and has no goals or sets that are unattainable.

Listening to Dr A now.

If Casey is the sum total of her family members' past, then it follows (or unless I am missing something) that she is a 'victim' of other's bad choices and thus not accountable herself (as Dr A claims she is.) If she is an 'empty shell' and a 'ghost' then the poor girl (barf) just can't help herself.

So which is it: Is she a victim, being a passive recipient of her past ancestors, or is she responsible for her actions? You really can't have it both ways.

This is just gossip and innuendo, disguised as respectable 'science.' IMO

Apologies for quoting myself. Actually Ablow himself addressed this quandary at the conclusion of his book.

The 'cure' for Casey, of course, is to find a skilled insight-oriented therapist so she can 'heal' and lead a fulfilling life.

Wonder if the 'good' doctor has any such 'professional' in mind :waitasec:
