I am very green to this case. Only started learning the details about it last week.

Something I don't get:
If RDI or BDI then why would they not just pretend the initial skull fracture was an accident? Why such an elaborate, almost unbelievable story? They would have had very little time to stage. Too much room for error. Way easier to say she slipped in the tub or some similar type of accident. JMO

The skull fracture was a devastating injury, over 8 inches long and probably equivalent to falling several stories to the pavement. Something more along the lines of what an adult with a baseball bat might produce. I don't think it could be accounted for by a mere slip? The perp might have had had no way of knowing how severe the injury was at first, but if it was more than an hour or so and she wasn't waking up, it was a good guess that she wasn't going to?

Not to get off topic from this thread on Dr. Phil interviews, however I watched the CBS special tonight and it was very compelling. I'm now in the camp of and convinced that the parents know how she was killed. I think Burke hit her over the head with the flashlight which killed her and the rest of the crime scene was staged. A child could easily crack her skull with the heavy flashlight.

The 911 call is compelling. Patty thought she hung up the phone but she was still connected to the dispatcher. You can hear Patty say something like "Oh Jesus what did you do?" John says "we're not talking to you". And what appears to sound like Burke says "what did you find?"

Sure looks to me like JR and PR are covering for their son who must have killed JBR. I don't see a parent covering for one another but I can see parents covering for their other child. As bad of an act it was their instincts were to protect their son from the aftermath of what would have happened to him had they turned him in.

I can't believe I am saying this. But I changed my theory based on the evidence and information provided on tonight's show.

I’m watching The Case of JonBenet Ramsey, which I think we all have been hoping for, for 20 years. Probably the best analysis of the case I have seen so far and I have learned new things from this show along with the Dr. Phil interview on Burke Ramsey. I think I am swaying more and more towards the Burke Ramsey did it theory, which I dismissed early on.

The Dr. Phil interview really perturbed me. Burke is not only socially awkward, but he made some unbelievable statements and some statements that were really bizarre. In addition to his inappropriate smiles and looking down when asked certain question, His lack of empathy for his sister was evident. He flat out lied when asked if he had ever read the ransom note in it's entirety. This kid is almost 30 years old and he has never read the note? He said he stops on page 1 and can't get through anymore?

The biggest revelation is that Burke Ramsey admits to being up that night and sneaking down to play with his Christmas toys. HUGE admission! His prints are on the bowl of pineapple. He also admitted to hitting JonBenet on the head once before with a golf club hard enough to cause a mark on her chin. The bowl of pineapple was found on the table and the flashlight was found on the kitchen countertop.

Dr. Werner Spitz lines up that flashlight perfectly with the head wound, and now I have no doubts that is the object that struck her. NONE at all.

If it's clear that Patsy Ramsey said in the background of the 911 tape, What did you do? That then removes her as the killer and places the blame on John or Burke. The 911 operator also states she heard Patsy say, We called 911, now what? This whole event is being orchestrated by John.

Furthermore when both John and Pasty state they did not kill JonBenet, it is convincing to everyone including the Linguist. That leaves one person left, and the convincing fact from Dr. Spitz called in a 10 year old boy to inflict the same type of wound to a skull as JonBenet was. The wound was almost an exact match! Also JonBenet was hit on the side of the head. I now can convincingly draw a conclusion that Burke woke in the middle of the night, perhaps woke JonBenet as well to play with their presents, both ate Pineapple, and at some point an altercation took place and Burke struck JonBenet with the flashlight to the side of the head.

Burke's reactions or non reactions on Dr. Phil and his odd behavior tells me something is not right with this child. His statements to the child psychologists about 'it's time to move on', and his disconnect and unsympathetic reactions to her murder disturb me. His reconstruction of what he thinks happened by raising his hand and bringing it down, also is suspicious along with him not identifying the pineapple when he is shown the photo, all show he is hiding something. This biggest factor for me, is that Burke Ramsey admitted to being up that night. The cover up was a joint effort on behalf of Patsy and John, which only makes sense why they covered for each other. When asked to draw a picture of his family, he drew his mom, dad and himself, not JonBenet. I think this child was jealous of his sister, the attention she received. I now view his as the likely culprit. Since the 911 call and ransom note cannot be dismissed as evidence, there is no sense in discussing any intruder theory, it doesn't exist.

I say there is ample evidence to make an arrest in this case. I now think Burke Ramsey is the culprit. This is now the only thing that makes sense on why both Patsy and John united to protect him. His interview with Dr. Phil and the interview with the child psychologist were very telling. And HI to all the old gang! Boy it's been years! It's sad we are still talking about this after all this time. If anything positive has come out of this case, is that JonBenet's murder was a wakeup call to police and investigators everywhere, and that NO ONE, not even wealthy people should be above the law.

You made a great point, about him saying he wants to move on. A 9 year old kid doesn't think that they just want to move on, that's something an adult puts in their head. If you've just killed your sister the last thing you need is to move on, you need to stop and work your issues out. From Burke's interviews it's apparent he never got the chance to stop and reflect, everything was swept under the rug by his parents and is still being pushed away to this day. Moving on seems to be all he's ever gotten the chance to do. I've entertained other ideas but have been pretty much BDI from the beginning, and although I blame Burke I don't really blame Burke. I think his parents shoulder most of the blame. As a mother I find myself wanting to give Burke a great big hug and tell him it will be ok, just tell the truth. I can't believe his parents put him in this situation by doing this cover up. I'm sure they consider it love and protection, but if this was "moving on" maybe it would have been better to have not moved on.

*The truth is out there*

The CBS show analyzed the ransom letter too. More or less think Patty wrote it. Written by an educated +30 female in their opinion.

The $118,000 request was an odd amount. Either exact or very close to amount of bonus JR received. I wonder if Patty intentionally put that amount to make the police think someone John knew at work was responsible? Is there any connection to foreign factions or people as part of his business?

wow I bet someone and their kid is crapping their pants right now and calling the lawyers lol that skull and the kid was very informative, I bet we hear of new law suits as early as tomorrow

With all of the BDI talk, I keep coming back to the fact that John and Patsy never called the killer an evil monster. They never said the killer was going to pay, etc. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I really don't think they didn't say those kinds of things because they're devout Christians. They didn't say those things because they didn't want to hurt Burke.

I doubt it. If they file lawsuits, they open the evidence again, and wouldn't they have to testify under oath? I don't think they're going after CBS. I think they knew this was coming.

I don't believe a nine year old child raped his sister and tied a garrote around her neck. I believe it was a pedophile that attended those beauty pageants, became obsessed with the child and gained trust and access to the home. I would look at all the pageant organizers, photographers and other vendor regulars before I looked at a nine year old child. Especially a photographer.
That was a pretty sophisticated crime scene; not the work of a child. Opinion only, of course. But a strong one.

You should do some Google searches. There are some very disturbed children out there. It's hard for me to believe that Burke actually penetrated JB with the end of a paintbrush, too. But that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Quite frankly, when you look at the evidence, it's absurd that an intruder did this. You have to ignore a lot of facts to reach that conclusion.

Did Dr. Phil get a chance to review the CBS show before his interview? If he did, how did he come to the conclusions he did during his facebook comments.

I believe Lin Wood is the common denominator.

in the movie Little Miss Sunshine there is a man at the pagent sitting behind Greg Kinnear who looks just like that John Karr guy LOl I know they did this on purpose and only if you followed this case would you catch that

No matter what happened almost 20 years ago, Burke should NOT have done this interview (or any interview). It was ill-advised and did him no favors.

I'm blown away by how much he looks like his mother. He's practically her clone.

I'm looking forward to what the CBS special says today as I'm sure those of you who are saying they're trying to get ahead of the info in the special are correct.

I keep seeing people write that JR isn't wealthy anymore. Is that true? If so, what happened?

ktgirl,
BBM: ITA, that's where the smiling comes from. Patsy smiled and smiled, then some ... Also BR shares with PR the same upward look to the left or right with a big smile, as if they are waiting for whatever ...

If BR said his mom was psycho or went psycho well did it affect him?

I can see CBS revisiting this case to nail down some of the details, i.e. where is Susan Stine hiding, wonder what DS thinks? Fleet White should do an interview outlining his concerns and reiterate what he saw in the wine-cellar that morning.

.

Could that head injury have come from a fall or being pushed down a stairs? I dont know why I always thought this was a possibility and then ofcourse the cover up which included the note the false rape, garrot etc

Well, they did talk about the killer as being a monster in Death of Innocence.

First off, wow, there's been a lot of posts since I was here a few days ago.
Well, they did talk about the killer as being a monster in Death of Innocence.
Yeah, they do, as well as that, they go to a lot of effort to paint the "intruder" as some outside, absolutely threatening force. Trying to put fear out in the community to cover themselves, ala 'keep your babies close' and all that garbage.

Is there supposed to be a 3rd part to the interview? Has it already aired?
