Four months later, though, the office remains locked most of the time, and the owner says no rent has been paid since Teresa Sievers died.

The owner said attorneys met with Mark Sievers on Oct. 5 and gave him an ultimatum -- pay all rent that is owed, or vacate. But no money has been paid, and Mark Sievers still returns to the office routinely.
...
As of Friday, placards there that once bore Teresa Sievers' name have been removed.
The affidavit for Wright's arrest warrant -- the only document available in Lee County -- says he "did unlawfully, by an act imminently dangerous to another, and evincing a depraved mind regardless of human life, kill and murder Teresa Sievers, a human being, by bludgeoning her or inflicting severe blunt force trauma."

The state attorney's office has instructed the Lee County Sheriff's Office not to speak about the case or release any additional information.

Sievers suspect hires Palm Beach defense lawyer Elizabeth Parker

A Missouri man accused in the death of Bonita Springs doctor Teresa Sievers has hired a defense lawyer out of Palm Beach County.

Attorney Elizabeth Parker will be representing Curtis “Wayne” Wright, who faces a charge of second-degree murder. Parker filed a notice of appearance with the Lee County clerk’s office Monday.

On Tuesday, Parker filed a waiver of arraignment, meaning Wright likely won't appear in court for his scheduled arraignment on Nov. 16. Parker also filed a written plea of not guilty, which is typical in criminal cases.

Parker also filed paperwork Tuesday to begin the evidence-sharing process between the prosecution and the defense known as discovery. Parker is requesting the names and address of witnesses and any statements they may have provided to law enforcement, as well as documents relating to electronic surveillance and searches.

Document: Read the notice of intent to participate in discovery.

Reached at her office, Parker declined to comment on any of the specifics of the case against Wright.

Parker began her law career as a prosecutor in Palm Beach County in 1998. By the time she left the State Attorney’s Office in 2011, she had risen to the position of Chief Assistant State Attorney.

Parker is now a partner at Kaplan, Sconzo and Parker in Palm Beach Gardens.

Wright, 47, remains jailed in Lee County without bond. Few details have been released about the killing, and a judge has put a seal on all documents pertaining to the case.

“Right now, we have a position of not guilty, and as far as we’re concerned we’re preparing for trial,” said Stuart Kaplan, partner of the Palm Beach Gardens law firm Wright has retained— Kaplan, Sconzo & Parker.

According to court documents, the firm filed the plea and demand for a trial Tuesday.

When asked about the non-guilty plea, Kaplan said: “We make a measurable assessment after exhausting all of the evidence and figure out where to go from there."

Kaplan said that the partners connected with Wright through someone the firm represented in Missouri, where Wright is from and was arrested.

NBC2 has learned the former office of Dr. Teresa Sievers in Estero will soon be closing its doors.
Partial owners of the Estero medical complex confirm Teresa's husband, Mark Sievers, has signed away his shares in the building -- meaning the office must now go.
Last week, Mark Sievers was meeting with attorneys from the complex after he failed to pay rent.
On Wednesday, we learned he must now vacate the building entirely after signing away his shares of the complex on Monday.

According to the staff at Wilson's Wellness Center, which is located right across the hall from Sievers' office, a meeting was held Tuesday night for all owners and partners in the building.

We're told the building's manager informed partners that he met with Mark Sievers and his attorney on Monday. Mark Sievers signed papers transferring his membership interest back to the medical center.

We're told Mark Sievers was given until this Saturday to vacate the building.

Kaplan said he's been in contact with Wright since the extradition proceedings started. He said said he hadn't heard of this case before his firm took it on.

Kaplan is a former FBI agent, and said the firm does their own investigations from start to finish.
"We kind of take on the approach as if we were investigating the case. As if we were looking into whether or not there was a crime committed or not, or whether or not the person who's accused of the crime is actually the person who's responsible.
...
Just a day before Dr. Sievers' murder, Sheriff Scott says Wright was seen on surveillance at a Fort Myers Walmart with Rodgers. "Why was Mr. Wright in Florida the day before Dr. Sievers' murder?" Four in Your Corner's Lisa Greenberg asked Kaplan. "The only thing I can say with respect to that is I don't have anything at this point that indicates whether he was in the state of Florida or not," Kaplan answered.

"She was extremely hard working and focused. Very spiritual," Cousins said about Teresa from his St. Petersburg home. He lives within a few miles of the home the couple once shared in the St. Petersburg area.
...
"The things that I remember most about her: her love of animals, her love of the outdoors, our first date at the beach with her dog," Cousins said.
Cousins carries fond memories of Teresa, even now.
"She's someone that motivated me. She's always upbeat [and] encouraging," Cousins said.
While the two divorced three years later, they remained friends.
...
Teresa's two daughters weigh heavily on his mind.
"The legacy she left as a human being: a mother, a physician, someone willing to go the extra mile," Cousins said.
In them, he says, Teresa's spirit lives on.

I don't think this has been posted. Here is the link to the interview earlier this evening with Greg Bolin. The accompanying article contains more from both Greg Bolin's and Lt. Coombs' interviews.

"The Wayne that I knew in high school was very intelligent," shared Bolin. “He was, you know, kind of nerdy appearing, but he was actually a fun-loving person. He's a very likable person."

As a longtime law enforcement veteran, Lt. Coombs shared his first impression of Wright.
"He's cool as a cucumber. He really showed very little emotion, pretty calm and collected.” Lt. Coombs described Wright as a “thinker.”

NBC2 crews were there as two employees from a local Goodwill hauled out furniture -- including chairs, desks and even a few electronics. This comes after Mark reportedly signed away his stake in the office complex a few weeks ago.

Owners of the building told us Mark had not paid any rent since his wife was found dead in their Bonita Springs home in June.

Tangled web surrounds suspects Curtis “Wayne” Wright, Jimmy Rodgers in death of Dr. Teresa Sievers

It all started when the cops found a sawed-off shotgun.

Five years before his arrest in the death of Dr. Teresa Sievers in Bonita Springs, Jimmy Rodgers was in the throes of another criminal case. In the summer of 2010, Rodgers was out on bond in Missouri, waiting to stand trial on a federal charge of possession of a firearm by a felon.

That July, local law enforcement in his hometown of Paris arrested Rodgers after finding him with a Stevens brand .410-bore shotgun. Federal prosecutors called him a danger to the community and insisted he be arrested before the trial. On Aug. 20, 2010, Rodgers was booked into the Sainte Genevieve County jail.

It was there that he met Curtis "Wayne" Wright, an inmate 22 years his senior who was being held after police said they found a meth lab at his house. The two became friends and, later, co-defendants: Wright also was arrested in Sievers' death this past August following an eight-week investigation. Those who know Wright describe him as a childhood friend of the doctor's husband, Mark Sievers.

New documents obtained exclusively by NBC2 detail the hundreds of phone calls Wright made from his Missouri jail cell before being extradited back to Florida.

While Wright has not had any visitors since being extradited back to Lee County, NBC2 confirmed with deputies, Wright has added the names of five family members to his list of approved visitors. Being on this list means they can visit him at any time while he's in the Lee County jail.

Two of the people on that list include his father, Curtis Wright Sr., and his wife, Angela Wright -- the first two people he called after his arrest in August.

Ross said he only got to know Curtis Wright in the summer of 2015, following his marriage to Angela. Ross said Angela and her family were shocked when Curtis was initially arrested in August, and charged with killing Teresa Sievers, the wife of his reported best friend Mark Sievers.
...
Ross said throughout their 25-minute discussion in jail, Wright maintained his innocence, and said he had no involvement in the murder of Teresa Sievers.

"The whole time I talked to him, he told me he didn't have anything to do with it," said Ross. "But because he did know both the [other] person that was charged and [Teresa's] husband, that's where [investigators] got the idea that he could be involved in it."

Arraignment for Sievers killing suspect Wright delayed
November 16, 2015 Posted: 3:52 p.m
http://www.naplesnews.com/news/crim...killing-suspect-Wright-delayed-350701691.html

Prosecutors asked for an extension to file formal charges against Wright on Monday, which marked the 33rd day since Wright was taken into custody. Had the extension not been granted, Florida law would have required Wright be released on his own recognizance on his 33rd day of incarceration, meaning he wouldn’t have to post a bond.

Wright’s lawyer asked to have him released, though such an occurrence was highly unlikely given the violent and serious nature of the charges. In a request for a seven-day extension, prosecutors said they have been provided with “voluminous” documentation received for the first time on Oct. 30.

It’s still possible that prosecutors are seeking a first-degree murder charge against Wright. That would require an indictment by a grand jury, which adds another step to the process beyond a typical arraignment.

The state has filed second-degree murder charges against Curtis Wayne Wright Jr. for the killing of Dr. Teresa Sievers.

The charges were filed late Monday, said State Attorney Samantha Syoen.

She added "The delay in filing charges was because the office needed the weekend to go through all the evidence."

On a Tuesday 47 years ago, Dr. Teresa Sievers was born Teresa Tottenham at Griffin Hospital in the small town of Derby, Connecticut. She was a fussy baby. Her 6-year-old sister wondered if there was maybe something wrong with her, but their mother just explained that babies couldn't talk, so they had to cry when they were hungry.

That was their Teresa: She made noise, she never went unnoticed, she wasn't afraid to ask for what she deserved.

"She just always knew what she wanted," said her older sister, Annie Tottenham Lisa. "She was just this magical, no BS kid. She never changed in her demeanor. She was no pretenses."
