Good point KateB. The Sheriff's office has been under intense pressure from the beginning of the case, to release info. and of course to arrest those reponsible. IMO, Sheriff Scott was attempting to refute the public perception/misconception that the case was progressing too slowly. As he said, the case drew an enormous amount of attention and there seemed to be an expectation that an arrest should have been made within days of the crime.
Its just odd that he used the words "initial crime"-- maybe its nothing and that is just a matter of his choice of words (instead of saying "from the time the crime took place....."). When I hear "initial crime" I think it as being the first crime. Oh well. I'm sure its insignificant.

If this was a planned murder and it was planned between two people in different states, yup, that'd be a crime in itself. FBI, which we know are already involved.

Or, maybe the murder truly is the initial crime and the subsequent covering of tracks or enlisting the help of others *cough* gfs, wives or friends would be another crime. Conspiracy.

Or, the initial crime could have been the break-in that happened (minutes/hours?) before the murder.

Or, as we've discussed, any hypothetical computer crimes which would of course, be interstate and involve the FBI as well.

I still vote for computer crimes (drugs, *advertiser censored*, embezzlement, even blackmail) via CCW as a definite, murder for hire, leaning towards 'no'. Keeping an ear out for the reason he was fired by Ramond Lifka after CCW had worked for him approximately six years. Hmm.

A otber lead from the above media link could be the red vehicle neighbors spotted in in the Sievers driveway. Any clue if that was CWW's ?

I recall seeing a red vehicle in a newscast video where the reporter was questioning a close co-worker who presumably had exited or was going to enter that vehicle.
Who knows if that was THE red car spotted at the S house by neighbors. But it would make sense for a co-worker to stop by and check on things while the S's were out of town.

Sheriff Scott Update on Dr. Sievers Homicide Investigation
Monday, July 13, 2015
http://www.sheriffleefl.org/main/index.php?r=news/index&id=13744

Our investigation continues progressing well and my team is working around the clock. I am personally following every aspect of this investigation and there are many moving parts. As I have said previously, this tragedy is a complicated set of circumstances with many intricacies. I remain more confident than ever that this is not a random, arbitrary case.

My office initiated media updates soon after the discovery of Dr. Sievers' death and some media outlets seemed obsessed with our request that the public and specifically Dr. Sievers' neighbors report any suspicious activity, call with any information about the case and lock their doors. These three (3) appeals are "crime prevention 101" and were never intended to create added alarm. We ask this all the time in every case. At the same time, a Sergeant with my office who is moonlighting as a candidate for Sheriff and who has absolutely nothing to do with the Sievers case appeared with local media and issued criticism of the agency from which she continues collecting a paycheck. Remember that a swarm of law enforcement converged on this neighborhood and has continued commuting to and from the scene in a highly visible manner ever since. That level of law enforcement presence around the clock serves to make any area even more safe than usual. When we believe there is imminent danger to the public, we will be the first to communicate same.

Finally, certain media outlets continue reporting specifics of the Sievers case that have not been confirmed by my office. While law enforcement always prefers a bit more restraint, I fully understand that the media is what it is and does what it wants in the interest of an agenda and a timeline that is far different from ours. With that said, we will continue to update our media partners as able.

The sheriff seemed to indicate both Rodgers and Wright were in Florida, saying they will both face the same charge of second-degree murder and referring to a plural “killers.” When describing why his agency needed time to build its case, he said there were “criminals coming in from the outside and then returning again to the outside and that created a delay.”
...

I'm probably overthinking this SMS statement. But does anyone think he may be talking about more than just CWW & JRR?

This is 4 days after their arrests that he said it.

The wording makes me wonder if SMS was thinking of CWW being in FL for the funeral; coming in from the outside (location, familiarity with TS) and "then returning again to the outside" refers to CWW going back to Missouri - out of LCSO jurisdiction. JMO.

Possibly, and my first choice would be JR.

While cleaning my desktop I ran into this video from 08-27-15. It's from Brian Anderson FB, NBC-2. Brief presser with SMS and 2 FBI agents:

Also on Brian Anderson' FB, 5 more brief unedited videos from the same day with Kelly Burns from the interview area outside the LCSO:

In the comments below the video on the first link, Bryan Anderson is taking the credit for linking the perps to MS. Quote following:

"Joni thank you. With help from my executive producer we compared friend lists on Facebook. Wright was friends with both Mark Sievers and Jimmy Rodgers."

Also, *while waiting*, in this link from the NDN, just reiterating what SMS said about the information out there in this case:

The sheriff made clear that what’s been reported about the case is a small fraction of what investigators have learned.

“The surface hasn’t even been scratched yet,” Scott said. “A lot of people have heard different things, different people have said different things, but at the end of the day, few if any know what we know about the case.”

www.naplesnews.com/news/crime/new-c...esa-sievers-ep-1253632638-335965121.htmlStill no news from the MO judgeabout lifting the seal off CWW's files and docs. Back to *waiting*.

After SMS spoke about "half-baked" people, he then says "I assure you that nobody in this room helped us." (2:24)
What do you get from that; kinda confused me.

I think he means that none of the intel gathered by LCSO came from the press.
