So, showing my ignorance here, does the PT get to call rebuttal witnesses? I was under the impression that they do not, but I have renewed hope if that's the case!! Hope you can respond to this...it just might help me sleep a little better tonight!! O/T, but I read part of Tom Peterson's interview last night, I feel so sorry for that young man. But he did say that if his dad get's to come home when all of this is over, he will have a long talk about the way his father had been conducting himself, & that he need's to be a more present parent. He also said that when his mother died, it was the most awful thing in his life & that he's basically been able to just be numb & put all of his focus into being a high achiever in everything he puts his mind to. Very sad...

Yes, the PR gets to call rebuttal witnesses. They will do it once the defense team finishes their case. Then they will start their closing arguments.

-- and who turned off the water and who turned off the lights (as has been said earlier). Nope, you can't have it both ways.

And if she had fallen badly enuff to be unconscious for more than a few seconds, I think her body would have been splayed all over that tub -- legs and arms all over the edge of the tub, probably flat on her back in the bottom of the tub with the water still running. Grrrrrr.

Another thing that I think needs to be pointed out. How many times do you think KS had taken a bath in that tub over the years? 100, 200 times? I would venture to say that you get in a tub the same way each and every time.

So now in the middle of a nasty divorce, this is the time where she slips, falls, cracks her head and drowns? All the while DP is not in bed when SP gets up in the middle of the night the weekend of KS'S death, she calls his cell without an answer and he ends up in all black clothes doing womens laundry that is not SP'S?

As Tom Jackson and Keyshawn Johnson from ESPN say: "C'mon, man"!

This is OT in a way, but I found it interesting. My friend is in her 70's, she has been having trouble with her balance for about 6 months. She went to Mayo Clinic last week and they decided to to do an MRI . They found a hematoma on her brain. About 6 or 8 weeks ago, she fell out of her shower and hit her head on the counter of the sink edge. She really didn't think too much about her head, as she hurt her tail bone too. Luckily, they found it, but her head was not cut. She had a bump there, but nothing major... makes me say hmmmmmm DP, you hit her. You hit your wife.....shame...

Thanks, they only stayed through the lunch break-perfect timing. I won't be able to do it tomorrow and maybe not till later on Thurs. if still having trial. Hopefully you can do it then along with katydid. Makes it easier. :)

I won't be able to post the updates tomorrow either. I have to drive a U-Haul to my 20' yr old DD's apt and help her move into another one. ugh. I hate moving. lol

So neither Jackson nor I will be available so hopefully when I come back there will be good news about the trial that day. :praying:

IMO, the washing all the clothes that fatefull night by DP is that everything was bloody.
Head wounds are bloody indeed. I'm sure blood was all over his black clothes also.
Oh if only Stacey would of told the truth, she would be alive and DP in jail.
But as we know she was scred to death of the guy also.
Oh dear Lord please get justice for Kathleen and then Stacey may see justice also.

I know it's water under the bridge....and I'm honestly not trying to demean the victim in any way...

but Stacy Peterson should have immediately gone to police after she saw Drew that morning of Savio's death. She kept quiet about it until she was ready to divorce Drew (more than 3 1/2 years later.)

And adding to that, pastor Neil Schori should have gone immediately to police after his meeting with Stacy....pastor or not.

Yes they can call rebuttal witnesses.

Here is the legal definition of rebuttal :

Rebuttal
(n) Rebuttal is the negation of a proof, argument, evidence or documents provided in a proceedings by introducing counter evidence.

Rebuttal - The introduction of contradicting or opposing evidence showing that what witnesses said occurred is not true, the stage of a trial at which such evidence may be introduced.

When most people get in the tub the water is running. You get in and adjust the water to the right temp and fill it to the desired amount. If Kathleen fell getting in the tub the water would have still been running when she was found. It would have overflowed.
When most people get out of the tub they pull the drain and get a towel and step out. If she fell getting out of the tub the water would have drained out and she would not have drowned. Or she would have had to drown very very quickly before the water drained out. Very unlikely as she would have quickly had air and been able to expel any water. Also there is the planted towel issue.
The Prosecution needs to rebut with an expert to discuss the ability to date bruising. I do not believe these experts when they said the deep impact bruise on her chest was nothing or that the three bruises were actually one.

Dr Jentzen discounts testimony from prosecution witness Dr Case, saying she's confused and gave wrong info to jury...

Ut Oh! Bet Jentzen won't be doing anymore papers with Dr. Case. He basically is calling her an idiot! :banghead:

In Session The witness says he charges $400 an hour for his testimony and preparation. “For the entire case, I’m approaching probably $8,000.” The judge calls the attorneys to a sidebar.
I haven't even begun to catch up, but if I were on the jury, I would be ticked off this guy makes this much, and the jurors make nothing! IMO - it's time to pay the jury a decent wage. Maybe they will take their job serious! Red, white, and blue. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

As Jentzen leaves courtroom, #Drewpeterson judge asks him to leave copy of scholarly paper he wrote on frustrations from dealing w/ lawyers.

judge's joke about frustrating lawyers gets big laugh in the courtroom....

Said sarcastically...Oh, I get it now. The judge is a 'jokester', just like DP. :maddening:

iMaio: Nothing unusual about placement of Savio's toes. "It's just pure chance how the toes are."..

DiMaio told jurors Savio's final position in the tub is not unusual, that it was just pure chance: “She’s too tall for the tub”...

Re: horizontal laceration on head, DiMaio says orientation is "pure chance." ..

NOTICE A PATTERN HERE? None of this means anything, it is ALL pure chance how she was left in the tub...[ BS]

Waaaaay too many coinky-dinks, I think.

And this guy is an 'expert' forensic pathologist? Geesh!

In Session “If you hit something hard and break the skin, the blood vessels are temporarily crushed. The bleeding takes maybe one or two or three seconds, and then you can move on . . .you see that sometimes with paper cuts. The other thing is she’s got heavy hair. So even if there was some minimal transfer, the heavy hair is going to just wipe everything off. So you’re not going to see anything.”

LOLOLOL! So basically he is saying that Kathleen's hair 'mopped' the tub clean? Yeah, right.:banghead:

I think I'll just have my husband hold me upside down and drag me around the tub.

Bold mine.

Or....if DP walks, he may find he has a new vocation in his retirement. Bathroom cleaning! He has experience in this cleaning method....but he only takes on a job if you are 'cute' and underage. :floorlaugh:

Good morning, everyone!

I wish there had been some way the PT could have brought that tub into the courtroom along with a life size 'dummy' (for lack of a better word) the actual weight and size of Kathleen, and done a demonstration. I have seen other trials where even a bed had been brought into the courtroom, so why not here? Burmila literally tied the PT's hands in presenting their case, IMO. Bring that tub in and show how ridiculous the DT's and their experts claims are.

If DP is not convicted there will never be justice for Kathleen. I don't like this judge, the DT, and 'experts' who say there is a 'chance' this or that happened. Well, Kathleen is not dead by 'chance', IMO. She is dead because DP murdered her, IMO, and not by chance or a 'household accident'.

The rains and wind are supposed to start later today or evening here in north Louisiana. Even if one or more of the tall pines or oak trees in my front and back yard falls through the roof, I am not leaving unless I can be guaranteed there will be internet for my laptop. Just joking, but I cannot miss the rest of this trial or the deliberations.

GB all of the people and pets in the path of this hurricane. I hope everyone stays safe.

:please:

Stay safe LaLaw and everyone in the path

I think Drew wanted to get any fibers or dna of his off the clothes also.

Stay safe.

I must be in a minority of one here, because I don't think DiMaio's evidence was all that bad. Of course, he gave the defense theory that Kathleen could have drowned in the bathtub by accident, but he also gave the figures accurately enough. Accidental drownings in bathtubs are very rare - according to DiMaio - and only happen to approx. 1.6 in 1 million people. Of that already tiny proportion of the population, the vast majority are either small children left unattended, or adults who are intoxicated. He also testified that Kathleen wasn't intoxicated.

For those who are sneering at him on the grounds that this freak accident is unlikely in light of the other circumstantial evidence, remember its not DiMaio's job to testify about anything other than the forensic pathology. Its the juries job to put his evidence in context, and as long as the jury can do basic math, I don't think DiMaio's evidence will have done the defense much good.
