Huh? Does this mean he will allow the hitman testimony or not?


In Session Testimony has finished for the day in the drew peterson trial.. The trial will resume tuesday at 10 am ET.

lol,,,I guess it means judge allows the possibility of the hitman testimony. No definite ruling is a ruling anyway? I feel like I just wasted the entire day watching this 3 ring circus....I don't know if can continue.

I just got back home after doing a bunch of errands. This is very upsetting, but I guess not that surprising. But it is devastating because Rossettas testimony was so vital to the case, imo.

katy, I really think it's a message to the Judge. The in and out of the court room must be very frustrating. They can't discuss the trial. What else is there to talk about? They get maybe 3 hours of testimony a day?

I'd be surprised if they got more than 1.5 hours a day of testimony.

Beth Karas has really called them out about the way they phrase things in their news conferences. They are totally misleading and devoid of the facts.
You know the saying about eyes being the window to the soul? Well they all wear dark sunglasses for a reason .

Question: Are there any locals who are familiar with this "judge" -- OR -- if you know someone who may have been in this judge's courtroom before ?

My neighbor across the street who is from there says he's an a$$. Also she said no fair trial in Will county for the victim in this case, says had it been moved to Cook Co. this would have been a whole different ballgame.

To those of you who live out of the state of Illinois and do not have an idea how corrupt this state is, well, it's probably the worst in the nation.

I am not saying that is taking place in this trial but nothing shocks me in this state and the way this trial is going, one would think the prosecution is throwing this case or the judge has a personal vendetta against them.

As far as the defense team goes, Lopez is known in legal circles and among mafia buffs for representing some of Chicago's most notorious mobsters. I only bring this up as a poster earlier had made mention that maybe the judge is afraid of the defense team.

Pastor Schori also had indicated he was very much afraid of he and his family being harmed after what Stacey confided in him. It's obvious DP knows a lot of people and he probably has a lot of dirt on people.

This case is not going well and I really feel for the family of KS right now.

Everybody, I feel your pain. This prosecution team has made too many mistakes when they knew that they were up against a team of Sharks.

The judge has been overwhelming in ruling for the defense whenever the prosecution has goofed. Deep in my heart, I understand that, but it is hard to take that their errors are ruining their case.

I still don't understand the seriousness of the error in dates with Stacey's friend. That was a boo-boo. The defense blew it up out of proportion and the judge agreed with them.

The judge is, as far as I can tell, not at all concerned with the jury. He takes more breaks than any other judge I have seen. He never seems to come back with case law to back up his decisions. It also seems there's litte, if any, specific case law being argued by the opposing sides.

I wish IS would tell us if the judge is explaining the long gaps in testimony to the jury. We need to know if he is verbally showing them any consideration.

I won't be back on the boards until next Friday, so I'm marking my post here in my little book to catch up. Somehow, I'm not expecting anything wonderful for the justice Kathleen is due.

All these years waiting for justice for Kathleen and the courts fail her. The prosecution and the judge! They couldn't screw this up more if they tried. I do not think the defense will have to put on their case, there isn't enough evidence right now. This sickens and saddens me.

No wonder there was no criminal investigation into Kathleen's death, and no wonder Stacy has never been found. Corrupt to the core! ALL OF THEM! IMO!

I wanted to say something without offending anyone, please, please! I mean no disrespect to anyone! Please don't get upset that I am saying this, but Stacy's name is spelled without an "E". It's STACY. I hope nobody gets offended. Please don't! lease:lease:lease:

OMG...completley O/T here (in a way) but I can't believe what I just found..Has anyone seen this or heard about the judge allowing the defense to view KS past records in a closed benind doors meeting in an effort to further tarnish KS's reputation and she or no one else can defend her against what they say they will be bringing up in court...I am so mad at this judge and the defense team right now I could spit bullets to Bolingbrook from the east coast....grrr!!! go here to read the full article. Drew Peterson's lawyers convinced a Will County judge to let them look at expunged battery cases brought against the former Bolingbrook cop's slain wife.

Defense lawyers Joseph "Shark" Lopez, Lisa Lopez and Joel Brodsky got the go-ahead from Judge Edward Burmila during a closed-door meeting Monday.

Burmila granted the defense motion to "open two unrelated files," and is allowing the lawyers to copy and take notes from court transcripts as well.

Could we hope for a mistrial and get a new judge? :what:

Thanks for clarifying, I've referred to Stacy a few times but my spelling has varied because I wasn't sure which one was correct.

I don't think you should lose hope yet. DP could still be convicted, although at this stage I would say he would be convicted in spite of the prosecution and not because of them.

Well I don't even know if I was this angry and upset when I was watching the CA trial, and believe me I was HOT about that case from start to finish. I am absolutely dumbfounded by the judge in this case. I expected shenanigans from the DT, but did not expect a judge who was so biased, or such an apparently inept PT. Come ON!!!!! SERIOUSLY??????

Everyone on the planet knows this county is corrupt, etc yet nothing is done to change it? Shame on the powers that be.

Wonder if the Judge would mind if Drew dated HIS daughter (if he has one)??? I bet he would NOT stand for it. But, JMO.

I hope my mind is untwisted by Tuesday morning.

And once again, thank you to ALL who brought the IS posts here for us to read. Without you some of us would have been lost. And of course the opinions of all you brilliant posters is appreciated too.

there would be adept, top notch prosecutors working on the case. They would drive home a prosecution with real preparation and smooth convincing testimony.

WHY?!?! WHY didn't the judge permit Rosetto to testify? His was incredibly powerful testimony for this case. I have to HOPE that this judge is good enough to want to see a guilty psycho like Drew Peterson put away forever and perhaps he has really barred this man's testimony because he knows that it will spell trouble for information that could possibly reveal too much about Stacy and ruin this case. I just have to believe that.

Ok,if she gets off ,I'll settle for him marrying AS,but he has a thing for younger woman. It would be kinda funny ,in a pathetic way. They'd both be so paranoid ,even as they plot the other's demise.
