Justice is just not swift anymore. Here it over 8 years later and still no justice for Dylan. If MR is found guilty of the crime will he admit to anything?

"While the trial will certainly be longer and different than jury trials prior to the COVID-19 pandemic ... none of these minor inconveniences impinge on the defendant’s rights to due process or a fair trial,” Wilson wrote."

"Wilson added that during a previous six-day trial, jurors reported to court officials they were comfortable and appreciative of the precautions at the La Plata County Courthouse to ensure everyone’s safety."

Yes! And only two days to go!

Judge rules October trial for Mark Redwine remains a go

Dylan Redwine's father’s trial in death of son rescheduled to 18 Sept 2019

6/16/20 Update: Setting hearing has been rescheduled to 6/23/20. 6/23/20: Show trial as next up.
6/23/20 Update: A setting Conference was held on June 23, 2020. At that time, the Court found that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court's extension of the state-wide moratorium on jury trials to protect the health of the public, and the inability to seek a waiver from the moratorium based upon the complexity & length of this particular trial, the Court finds pursuant to C. R. Crim. P. 24(c)(4), that a public health crisis prevents the Court from safely assembling a fair jury pool & declares a mistrial in this case. This case is reset for a 6-week jury trial to begin on October 28, 2020 at 8am with an all-day Pretrial Conference hearing set for October 8 at 9am. All subpoenas previously issued & served upon witnesses are continued until October 28, 2020.

9/22/20 Update: Status hearing on 9/23/20. 9/23/20 Update: Next pretrial conference hearing on 10/8/20. 10/2/20 Update: Redwine’s defense attorneys filed a motion to delay the trial until “after the COVID-19 pandemic has been resolved,” arguing the pandemic presents “unreasonable” public health risks that would prevent a fair trial. Sixth Judicial District Judge Jeffery Wilson, however, ruled Friday (10/2/20) the regulations in place do not violate any constitutional rights, determining Redwine will still stand trial Oct. 29, with jury selection starting on 10/28.

Dear Lord, will it really be 8 years since Dylan's murder when this case finally goes to trial?

Yes. It is crazy, when the accused does everything to manipulate the system. Including, waiving the right to a "speedy trial". The accused wants people to forget, so that their testimonies can be treated as marginal. This is not unlike the Nubia Barahona case,GUILTY - FL - Nubia Barahona, 10, slain, twin injured, West Palm Beach, 11 Feb 2011 *Arrest* which has been pending for almost ten years due to the manipulation by the accused.

My opinion, the longer the accused wants to drag out the outcome, the guilt is a given. And it is a control issue, not to mention the impossible stress and ongoing grief this trial date dragging on and on has been for the Mother of the victim in this case.

Wow, I cannot believe it has been this long and he's just now getting ready to go to trial. How has he been able to drag this process out so long? I thought a speedy trial was a given I didn't know you could opt to drag it out for as long as possible. I can't even imagine what Dylans mother and family has been going through all this time having to wait and worry over when this will all be over and justice will be served. Ultimately I don't think him dragging his feet to get in the court room is going to benefit him any no matter how long you wait you can't change facts.

Redwine’s defense attorneys try – and fail – again to delay upcoming trial
"At a pretrial conference hearing Thursday, John Moran, Redwine’s appointed public defender, argued again that a trial would put the health of attorneys, the jury, witnesses and the community at risk. . . . Moran also reiterated concerns that local media coverage of the Redwine case has tainted the jury pool in La Plata County.

Wilson maintained Thursday the trial will go on as planned."
