Source: Baby Gabriel's Mom Confessed Twice

Would they be able to charge her with first degree murder now that she not only confessed twice during a jail interview but also that text message she sent Logan?

This Pisses me off, if she really did kill Gabriel ( and I believe that she did all along) and she gets away with murder. :furious:

Her lawyers want her kidnapping charges dropped because of some new jailhouse interviews. They say a detective from San Antonio police flew to Phoenix to interview Johnson about the missing child without their consent

:furious:

Hearing should be starting in about 45 minutes . . . .

Docket now shows a filing by other side to have time to respond to states motion to dismiss and also a motion to depose Detective Salame..filed yesterday

Dan Raynak is a fast-talking Arizona lawyer who makes witnesses stammer and fills courtrooms with his overpowering presence and volume. Joel Sansone, an intense Pittsburgh attorney, is his cross-country mirror image. One a high-profile criminal lawyer, the other an outspoken civil-rights attorney, they have been best friends for 40 years.

With aggressive courtroom styles that sway juries and unnerve witnesses, Mr. Raynak and Mr. Sansone argue points of law, shoot rapid-fire questions and bark objections.

Mr. Raynak is known for being a tough litigator who is, at times, abrasive with opposing counsel and witnesses. "I've seen people go from very smug and confident on the witness stand, but once they realize I'm going to go into painstaking detail to discredit them, that changes," Mr. Raynak said in a telephone interview from his home in Arizona. "Dishonesty ticks me off. My goal is to get to the truth. If you know what people said previously [in depositions and grand-jury testimony] you can catch them when they say something different."

Mr. Raynak's clientele, meanwhile, has included defendants in some of Arizona's most violent sex-crime and capital-murder cases.

{ She could start with the astounding case of Marie Long, an old lady worth $1.3 million when she came under the protection of Maricopa County's probate court in 2005. Today, she's destitute and depends on taxpayers for support.

In a take-no-prisoners 21-page ruling issued Monday, Ellis described the fees that put Marie Long into the poorhouse as "reasonable, necessary and for the benefit of the ward." She blamed Marie's court-appointed attorney Jon Kitchel, along with Dan Raynak and Pat Gitre, attorneys for Marie's sisters, for driving up costs, saying their "venomous" and "hateful" attacks on the trustee, the guardian and their attorneys forced the other side to defend themselves.

I, too, am grateful for the court's decision as it proves my point all along, which is simply this: The court that is supposed to be protecting people like Marie Long is doing no such thing. Instead, the court is allowing a cozy group of lawyers and fiduciaries who are appointed to help vulnerable people help themselves to a nice pile of cash - until the money is gone, at which time the "ward" is dumped onto the taxpayers. }

Lawyers clash over media comments in Veon trial

prosecutors today complained privately to a judge about defense attorney Dan Raynak's comments to news media about documents that were not admitted at trial

Attorneys can't go outside the courtroom and talk about evidence that was not admitted, said Senior Deputy Attorney General Marc Costanzo. That is "a potential violation of our rules of professional conduct," he said.

Sounds like he likes to get to the bottom of things and let the truth be know. He is dealing with pathological liars(EJ,TS,JS). This could be a good thing.

I read the FOX News article about the 2nd confession and it's either written really poorly or I just don't get it. They are quoting what EJ supposedly said to the detective when asked why she "told" the babies father she killed him, and it sounds to me like she's just explaining why she told the father she killed him. Not that she is saying she actually did kill him....If that's his confession it sounds pretty weak to me.

In the same article it says that she also told the detective that TS set up the hand off.

Texas Cop To Be Called In Baby Gabriel Case

PHOENIX -- A judge paved the way for attorneys to interview the San Antonio police officer to whom Elizabeth Johnson reportedly confessed to killing her son Gabriel.

The mother of missing baby Gabriel Johnson did not appear at the status hearing on her case in a Phoenix courtroom Thursday. The judge said he and the attorneys received a seven-page letter from her, but did not release details.

You're right, the article is poorly written. When they say she "told detectives" why she sent the text, etc., they're talking about what she told the AZ detectives when she was first taken into custody. What she said then was that she sent the text to hurt G's father, and that she had not really killed G. What she supposedly told the Texas detective was different: that the text message was true.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Paul McMurdie granted the prosecuting attorney's the motion to depose Salame. The next status hearing on the case is set for Jan. 24.

This is good, as I take it to mean they are considering letting that interview in as evidence.

Can't wait to hear the interview!

Oh, and I'd give my right arm right now to read that 7 page letter EJ penned!

If this case gets dismissed, It would be a HUGE HUGE slap in the face to Logan, His Family and even EJ's Family.

It would basically be telling them " Gabriel does not matter".

This is getting absolutely ridiculous! What does this mean for the case? (Aside from the fact that EJ is a total nutball)
