You know... as a Florida taxpayer... I would have no problem having Cindy and George put up in a hotel room much like the jurors will be just so they can not watch the court happenings, etc. No internet. No news. No unmonitored phone calls! Heck, just make them sit there and watch their own media interviews, interviews with LE, and depositions!

I know they will be watching everything they can on this trial if they are not allowed in the courtroom and it makes me really mad because it is against the law!! Isn't it??

Agree. Unfortunately, in this age of air cards, tethering, iPads and such, they could have internet access from just about anywhere. And watch the trial live streaming as many of us will be. MOO.

No. The motion is the moving paper. The response is your reply to the moving paper. The reply is the doc the party filing the moving paper responds with to the response.......it goes on and on......sur-reply, etc.,

sorry if this was already answered.....by computer is moving like a snail on WS today.........

Thank you, Gma Kat.
So the defense HAS filed a motion. My bad. At first I thought it was merely a response. So, the defense is asking for a hearing on this. Delay delay delay? Emergency hearing? Moot? Thoughts? Thank you again Gma Kat.

I don't know much about FL's state level rules. But in my jurisdictions they are considered separate. A motion typically requires the party to request something. But it's not unheard of in a response or even a reply (a response to an objection/opposition) to request oral argument on an issue. In some jurisdictions you have to specifically request an oral argument separate from the entire motion in a separate captioned pleading otherwise your request will be decided upon the submitted papers.

LL needs glasses...and a drink! I simply glossed over the huge capped bolded title and dove right into the motion. Then assumed it was a response...yep. Glasses.

Why do they need a hearing on this though? I think Judge Perry is well equipped to make a decision without hearing both sides. Their reasons were layed on in their motions... Makes me wonder if JB wants to call them out on the stand about their statements that Caylee is still alive? Show the court, and Judge Perry himself, that Cindy and George's motion asking to be excluded from the rules of sequestration is based on a lie by claiming to be the next of kin to the victim in this case??

This is all so weird? Could they schedule a hearing for tomorrow?? They won't have time to do a hearing starting Monday, will they??

I think if a hearing was scheduled for tomorrow, we'd know. BP told CA that her lawyer should call him ASAP but before or by Thursday and we've heard nothing more so??????
The entire thing is very strange to me, starting with Lippman leaving the hearing before his motion was heard. If it isn't heard tomorrow, or Saturday during an emergency hearing, then it won't be heard at all before trial. Do you know if either the DT or SAO submitted a change of venue request yesterday?? Are we to assume that both are OK with BP's selected location for jury selection?

Guess the A's are merely toes now demoted from the finger designations.

:floorlaugh:

And to think... George is the one who assigned all their locations on that hand. Hey, he's the one who made Casey the CEO. He has no one to blame but himself, I guess??

I should have given the caveat that I only have an understanding of California law......I haven't looked at what the defense filed........so I apologize in advance for giving you an inacurate response Lance......BTW.........you monkey around?

Here is the motion from the news thread:

2. George and Cindy Anthony will likely be subject to impeachment by testimony of other witnesses.

WOW! Now I really have to wonder if CM was talking about CA & GA when he said he would expose "hypocrites and liars". :waitasec:

DOH! Now that's gonna be some interesting talk around the Anthony dinner table tonight.

Anyone get the hint that ICA is gonna throw GA under the bus and doesn't want him around to hear about it?

WOW! Just WOW!

Wow ... what a slap in the face for Cindy especially ... if this is a defense strategy, at the very least, KC could have gotten word to her mother that she has to do what her lawyers are telling her to ...
But that's not what it sounds like at all ... maybe as things get worse and worse for KC, she gets more and more angry at the people she feels put her in jail in the first place ... her parents
First Cindy with her 911 calls, then George testifying in front of the GJ ... bet KC's all set with the two of them and willing to let her defense run right over them to save her hide ...
Jokes on her, though, IMO, she's alienating the ONLY people who have defended her and will be going away for a long, long time ... guess she's not concerned about who's gonna put money in her prison account ? .... JMO

Here's a stewpid question...
Is filing a response to a motion the same as filing a motion?

That's not a stewpid question! Sure it is - it's a motion also - this particular motion the defense filed is now able to be read - both Nums24 and laurelj have posted it in the Today's News and the Motions threads.

I wonder if the senior Anthonys will still deposit money in ICA's snack fund? The abuse accusations in ICA's letters to another inmate did not stop GA from giving money to her fund.

I think the fluffy sweaters, and snack funds have been officially cut off :) I wonder if she'll start showing up in blue again?

MOO

I'm no legal mind but I think CJBP can rule on these two motions without a hearing - he's in a get 'er done kind of a mood these days.

Ok, someone slap some sense in me. And STAT! I'm wobbling here.

I'm feeling slightly bad for the A's. I'm sure they went into this thinking Casey would never do this to them. And that she would never blame the murder on them. I can't imagine how hurtful that must be. I mean seriously folks that's gotta sting big time!

But I have to keep reminding myself of all the venom the A's have spewed at perfectly innocent people. I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

I've always felt sad for them as a separate issue and apart from their unbelievable behavior - and it looks like it's getting worse. Bill S. has just posted his opinions.

QUOTE=lauriej;6439686]Motion Filed To Keep Casey's Parents Out Of Courtroom

--snipped--
Legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said that's confirmation of the story WFTV broke weeks ago, that the defense could be planning to pin Caylee's murder on someone else in Casey's family, possibly her father George.[/QUOTE]

darn don't know why my quote broke - sorry!

:noooo:Wait.... Stop.... don't move any further... I'm coming in after you!!!

:panic:

:okay:

:therethere:

Do you think this (http://www.wesh.com/pdf/27793003/detail.html) came with a note from KC saying:
Mothers-Day-Gift-1.gif

Well if CA's head isn't hanging over the toilet on this one, I'll never understand why. I mean this has to be the ultimate gut/heart punch, don't ya think. Maybe the A's will get it this time...KC hates them...

My posts represent my opinion only.

I think they will blame HER argus thus sparing their innocent angel

ITA she really does despise them. I bet Casey is grinning from ear to ear knowing the knife is twisting in her mothers heart.

I can't feel sorry for them. I'm sorry. I have to say that I am somewhat relieved that the tides have turned and that all the blaming of truely innocent people has stopped. People who simply knew Casey at one point in their lives. Even people who never knew Casey have been accused... even innocent neighbors (Tia Torres) who just happened to live near her were dragged into this and were accused by this family. I will never forgive what they did to Roy Kronk.

I think I can say I don't feel sorry for them because I know it is a lie. I know they had nothing to do with Caylee's murder and I know a jury is not going to believe it either. It is nothing but lies coming from the accused and her defense who have had no problem accusing a number of people of the same thing... anyone but their client.

Maybe now all the truely innocent people in this case can rest a little easier going into this trial? Maybe Cindy and George will know exactly how it feels to be in the same situation as the people they put in that situation??

I don't know?
