FBI officials have released images of two suspects in Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings which killed three people and wounded more than 170.

They’re asking for the public’s help in identifying the two men who were seen wearing ball caps and wearing knapsacks and walking through the marathon crowd on Boylston Street toward the finish line.

“For more than 100 years, the FBI has relied on the public to be its eyes and ears,” special agent Richard DesLauriers said at a news conference on Thursday afternoon in Boston. “We know the public will play a critical role in identifying and locating these individuals.”

“Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbours, co-workers or family members,” DesLauriers said. “Though it may be difficult, the nation is counting on those with information to come forward and provide it to us.”

But he cautioned the public not to approach the suspects, saying they’re considered “armed and extremely dangerous.”

I don't think white hat looks like Andreas, but honestly I can't really make out black hat's face enough to tell. Interesting thought however.

This is a good thing that people might be able to find more images of these 2 in their own photos from that day. Knowing what to look for will hopefully jog some memories of people who were there that may have seen additional details.

We may not know who they are, but someone does! That is a really good face shot of the guy with the white cap; bet his relatives will recognize him. Hope the reward $$ climbs up.

BTW heart some of the press conference while in my car, the reporters were really wild and out of order!

FBI website has him listed at 6' 160lbs. Known past of bomb making with nails. Last known to be in Western Massachusetts.

In one of the shots there is a pic of a man in a green jacket and white cap. If I didn't know better, I'd say that was my son, but he has been in heaven for 9+ years!

The FBI is the one who called them white. In the video, the guy in the white hat looks unmistakably white. I don't think the FBI are going to call them white when they're not just to be politically correct.

I'll look again, I just saw still photos of him.

Holy cow! Can you imagine going through your pictures and realizing you've got a shot of this guy? He's just strolling along---getting ready to unleash abject horror and pain on countless lives. Grrr, makes me so mad I could spit.

Really? It's a little hard to tell because they are so fuzzy, but they look like 2 white guys in their 20's (or maybe 30s?) to me.

The following pic has darker tones overall - compare to the one above and look at the color of his white shirt.

they didn't release any photographs or video of the suspect leaving the area. But he stated it in the one question he answered.

Feeling they are keeping these things close to home until they are able to talk to them and keep the case as close as possible to keep the integrity of the case.
