Faye was found after a methodical search. They don’t think she was there very long. A body of a male was found in the area. The Lex. Co. Coroner identified that man as 30-year-old Coty Scott Taylor, who lived on Picadilly Square, which is in Churchill Heights. @wis10 #PrayForFaye

Male is ID’d as 30 year old Coty Scott Taylor. Officers say they spoke to him and searched his home while he was still alive and as Faye was missing. They found a critical piece of evidence in his trash can that led them to search that area again. @wcnc

[...]

The Cayce DPS public information office said at Friday’s news conference that an item found in a garbage can led investigators to do another search of a wooded area near her Faye’s home in Churchill Heights. They found her body there.

Taylor, who is described as a neighbor, was found dead at his residence. Authorities have said they believe the deaths are linked. Taylor was not known to law enforcement and had no criminal history.

The public information officer said investigators had been to Taylor’s home and spoken to him this week as they searched the neighborhood for signs of the little girl.

Police: Neighbor found dead 'linked' to Faye Swetlik's death
[...]

Cayce DPS Sgt. Evan Antley announced that the man's remains were found at his home on Piccadilly Square shortly after investigators found Swetlik's body in a wooded area. Antley confirmed that Swetlik's remains were found in a wooded area between her home on Londondeerry Square and a Napa Auto Parts store. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the man as 30-year-old Coty Scott Taylor.

Antley said investigators found a "critical item of evidence" in a garbage can that led them to return to the wooded area where Swetlik's remains were found. Due to the nature of the investigation, Antley did not provide any details on what that evidence was.

[...]

Chief Byron Snellgrove located the body of Faye Swetlik while they were planning that search. Fisher said an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, and officials refused to speculate on any cause of death Friday. Antley said investigators do not believe that Swetlik's body was in that area for a long time.

Neighbor linked to death of SC 6-year-old Faye Swetlik
[...]

Cayce Department of Public Safety Chief Byron Snellgrove then discovered Faye's body around 11 a.m. in a wooded area between her home and a nearby NAPA auto parts store. Antley said that her body had not been in the area for a very long time.

A short time later, Taylor's body was found inside his home on Picadilly Square, which is also nearby. The coroner would not speculate on how he died until an autopsy is performed Saturday.

When asked, Antley would not say if Taylor killed Swetlik, but said he was a neighbor, and was not a relative or family friend. Antley did say there is no community threat, and they are not seeking any persons of interests and there are no arrests.

Google image search of Coty Taylor's address (dated 2015) shows silver sedan parked outside. SC authorities had been seeking to identify a silver sedan seen in the area around the time of #FayeSwetlik's disappearance. Taylor's residence was just around the corner from Faye's.
