Thank you for responding with such detail. I think it's easy to forget that LISK may have not been aware of Shannan's disappearance at all.
So 2 scenarios are:
LISK had no involvement in Shannan's disappearance or death and knew nothing about it, which is why he continued with his disposal site a few miles down the road on Ocean Parkway 38 days later in June.
OR, LISK did have something to do with Shannans death and he placed her in the marsh to look like an accident (since people already saw her in Oak Beach) and he continued with placing the other women on Ocean Parkway because there was relatively no media coverage of Shannans disappearance anyway.
It's strange that I never looked at it that way. I mean a girl from New Jersey was missing and a few months later bodies were being found. It was only after all the bodies were found that I started putting Shannan together with the other's. I don't think Shannan & LISK are connected, but if it weren't for Shannan's disappearance, we might never have known LISK exists.
My personal opinion is that LISK never wanted those bodies found and Shannan's disappearance rocked his world.
You made me start thinking about what was going on when it all began. How now all the player's, their names, occupations, etc have since come to light. None of this was known or in the news at the time of Shannan's disappearance. It was a few days, maybe even a week later when the local news provided the very first witness, Gus Coletti.
He gave his witness statement to the news and I remember getting chills down my spine. He talked about the SUV driving really slow, which caused Shannan to run out of Gus' house to hide. It was then that she ran to the side/back of his house and hid behind a boat. No one knew at the time that this was someone that Shannan knew either. There was no Michael Pak, just this stranger, driving a car, looking for a girl.
We didn't know if he was the good guy or the bad guy and certainly not her driver. It was all so ominious at the time, who was that man and was he trying to hurt her. Then the story sort of disappeared but I kept looking for updates and there weren't any.
It has always bothered me and unless it's eventually explained why, I can't understand why Michael Pak left without finding Shannan. He knew she was somewhere in this unknown community and he just left. Why would he leave her stranded on LI when she's from New Jersey? Could it just be a simple, he got worried after Gus told him he had called the police? Possibly/probably which is just awful.....
Shannan might still be alive had he stuck around and waited for her to calm down from her panic. But then without knowing what she experienced that night, maybe she feared him too. The release of the tape could resolve a lot of questions that the public has.
My best friends husband was a Jersey City cop and when Shannan disappeared he said, she's just a hooker! Nobody cares..... That he said she was "just" a hooker, felt like a stab to my heart because clearly it told me that men/cops have little to no respect for these women who are struggling to survive, who have families, children, and friends. They are all real people, not throwaways. But that's just my personal feeling about all of these women...
