I'm starting to have some very ugly thoughts about what might have happened...hope I'm wrong. I hope whoever took her has a heart and lets her go. I hope when I wake up in the morning I'll find it's all good.

A few thoughts and questions (sorry if I missed the answers):

1. Did any LE say the stove was on? Was it just family reporting that?
2. So the church bus was supposed to come and pick up the kids--what time? Have they checked out or interviewed the driver or possible escort on the bus? Maybe they saw something?
3. Where did they get the translator if she isn't very good? That could make a HUGE difference in interviews.
4. I fear they found something in the trailer that makes LE thinks she was injured or killed. Why don't they want anyone to search? They are searching outdoors, nearby, but why? What leads them to that, something specific or just the routine when someone is missing?

All JMO. Praying for Diana.

Did stepdad say that he always kept that one door unlocked? I think that is odd. I understand that some people never lock their doors. But why lock one door but not the one next to a young girls bedroom?

I just started reading this thread and am currently on page 6 of it so I'm catching up. I came on here to see what you all were saying about the 7 year old boy in Japan who is missing after his parents put him in the woods as a punishment and that's how I came across this thread. Just want to say before I even got to page 5 I was thinking the parents were probably involved and now i'm seeing they haven't even left the police station. Very telling IMO! Going to continue my reading and will comment again when I'm all caught up.

PS: Hope you all are well! Lol it's been so long since I posted on here.

I am also local and I have been hard at work making sure all hotels in my area (I work at one) and surrounding businesses where I work have her picture and information behind their desks. Everyone is being really vigilant. Just in case.

I am trying to trust Law Enforcement, but they waited too long to get more coverage. There was literally NO updates or news for 24hours. Nothing. Just a little blurb on their websites.

She's only 9-years-old. Even if they felt she left on her own... she's in danger. She's either in those woods/swamp... or she's being helped by an adult/older teen. That is if something more sinister hasn't happened.

I was sure she would have been found by now.

Where are you, Diana??

Okay so I'm very chatty tonight, it seems.

It's so frustrating and disheartening to me that there is virtually no activity on this case right now in SM. Twitter is pretty much silent and it's even too quiet in here.

Even just a few years back, when a child went missing these threads would be filled with people immediately. And I mean tons of people. Are we just getting so used to it that it doesn't even register as a shock anymore? :(

I do understand that it's a holiday but I have been noticing this for some time now.

I hope and pray they find this little one.

I was thinking the same thing about how quiet this thread is. Perhaps it is the holiday weekend.

I speak Spanish.
Mom just doesn't understand why her daughter is missing. When she got up at 2-2:30 to feed the baby, she checked on the kids. A boy and a girl share a room. She checked on them. Then she went to see Diana and she was uncovered. She covered her with the blanket (I take it it's the missing blanket). Then she went back to bed. She woke up at 6:55 to wake the kids up to go to church. She noticed that all of the stove was on (I take it to mean all burners ). She checked the doors. Concerned that something was wrong. She checked on the kids. The two were in their room. She went to check on the oldest and found that she was not there.

I did noticed that the translator was adding info and was not asking the same questions that were asked.

Please note all this is MOO!

Thanks so much ms_x! That's very helpful information!

I also worries me that they've brought in "Homeland Security?" I don't know what that's about? Would they be called in if they are here illegally?

Diana was in a room by herself.
Dad says the door is right outside his bedroom and he will hear it when opened. He will wake up if someone opened it.

Mom say's the two younger children were in a bedroom and she checked on them. Dad say's he leaves the door unlocked outside his bedroom door. The home only has 2 bedrooms. Could Diana be sleeping in the living room? That would make it easier for someone to take her.

Who turns on all of the burners on a stove while they're in the process of kidnapping a child? :waitasec:

Gas stove? Are those common is Trailer Homes or are they electric, does anyone know?

As dangerous as it is, some people use their stoves as a heat source.

I grew up in trailers, and we had both kinds of stoves. Where we had the gas stove, we also had a large propane tank near our trailer. And yes, my mom would turn the stove and/or oven ( with the door open) on at times for heat because there was no central heat source, or kerosine for the space heater.

Yes, I lived in a trailer before too, and had a gas stove. I don't think anyone would be using it as a heat source at this time of year though.

How odd.

Has it been that cold at night in Florida this week? [ to need the burners on, I mean...]

When I was growing up we had a wall heater. When my mom got up in the morning she always turned on the gas stove and opened the door to heat the kitchen. I know the translator says "the stove was on". I don't know if that means the burners or the oven. Both are part of a stove. ???

The low tonight is 71, so unless someone has a really low tolerance to being cold, I wouldn't think so.

Very good info in this video. At around -5:14 the reporter says "she's been missing since Sunday at 2 AM, right?"...The step father's answer (actually hand gesture and eye movements) bothers me.

No, I'm not accusing him because I was actually believing much of the story up until then but it just bugged me. Big time. I think there is obviously many pieces of this puzzle missing. I will sit back and wait to see how it all unfolds.

(Just FYI, I have been trained in many areas wrt to body language, but am not verified so this is JMO.)

As an additional viewpoint, I have an advanced degree in Communication (and teach at the college level.) Credibility is a very real component of public discourse and everyone is entitled to their opinion RE: whether someone is (or isn't) telling the truth. In fact (unfortunately) one's "believability" is more important than "honesty" these days. "Audience Perception," is literally the definition of credibility in 2016. That said, body language study/research is interesting and important, but thus far, TOTALLY unreliable. In addition, nonverbal communication is completely culture-bound.

The first video I posted has the parents talking about the stove. If you haven't watched it, watch!!!! For sure lots of info in there.

No, the police didn't say anything about the stove, but it wasn't a family member telling what they heard. It was a first hand account of the people that found it. I need to re-watch---- or we need someone to transcribe :) I thought he said he found the stove on and then she said she found it on and asked him if he did it and he said no. There was no indication that they did it themselves. Being in the south right now, there is ZERO percent chance of needing heat! We haven't needed heat except for maybe 2 days in February.

I do not think the police think she ran away. Not at all.

I think the "translator" was just a helpful family member. Not an actual translator. I could tell (even through my ignorance of the language) that a lot was being said that wasn't translated. That's for sure why I was so curious what was actually said.

I also wondered about the Homeland Security. I know her bio dad is in another country and was wondering if they had suspicions about her being taken or something regarding that. I do not ever remember them being involved. I need to research why they would be.
